1. Hear this, all ye people; give ear, all ye inhabitants of the world:
1. (49:1) Au chef des chantres. Des fils de Koré. Psaume. (49:2) Écoutez ceci, vous tous, peuples, Prêtez l`oreille, vous tous, habitants du monde,
1. "[Ho an' ny mpiventy hira. Salamo ho an' ny zanak' i Kora.] MANDRENESA izao, ry firenena rehetra; mihainoa, ry mponina rehetra amin' izao tontolo izao:"
2. Both low and high, rich and poor, together.
2. (49:3) Petits et grands, Riches et pauvres!
2. Na ny ambany, na ny ambony, na ny manankarena na ny mahantra.
3. My mouth shall speak of wisdom; and the meditation of my heart shall be of understanding.
3. (49:4) Ma bouche va faire entendre des paroles sages, Et mon coeur a des pensées pleines de sens.
3. "Ny vavako hiteny fahendrena; ary ny fieritreretan' ny foko dia fahalalana."
4. I will incline mine ear to a parable: I will open my dark saying upon the harp.
4. (49:5) Je prête l`oreille aux sentences qui me sont inspirées, J`ouvre mon chant au son de la harpe.
4. Hanongilana ny sofiko hihaino oha-teny aho, ary hanonona teny saro-pantarina ampiarahiko amin' ny harpa.
5. Wherefore should I fear in the days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall compass me about?
5. (49:6) Pourquoi craindrais-je aux jours du malheur, Lorsque l`iniquité de mes adversaires m`enveloppe?
5. Nahoana no hatahotra amin' ny andro fahoriana aho, nony manodidina ahy ny haratsian' ny mpamingana ahy?
6. They that trust in their wealth, and boast themselves in the multitude of their riches;
6. (49:7) Ils ont confiance en leurs biens, Et se glorifient de leur grande richesse.
6. "Ireo izay matoky ny hareny sy mirehareha amin' ny haben' ny fananany;"
7. None of them can by any means redeem his brother, nor give to God a ransom for him:
7. (49:8) Ils ne peuvent se racheter l`un l`autre, Ni donner à Dieu le prix du rachat.
7. "Tsy misy mahavotra ny rahalahiny akory, na mahazo manome an' Andriamanitra izay avony;"
8. (For the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceaseth for ever:)
8. "(49:9) Le rachat de leur âme est cher, Et n`aura jamais lieu;"
8. (Fa sarobidy ny fanavotana ny fanahiny ka hitoetra mandrakizay izany).
9. That he should still live for ever, and not see corruption.
9. (49:10) Ils ne vivront pas toujours, Ils n`éviteront pas la vue de la fosse.
9. Mba ho velona mandrakizay izy ka tsy ho tratry ny fahalovana.
10. For he seeth that wise men die, likewise the fool and the brutish person perish, and leave their wealth to others.
10. (49:11) Car ils la verront: les sages meurent, L`insensé et le stupide périssent également, Et ils laissent à d`autres leurs biens.
10. "Fa hita fa maty ihany ny olon-kendry; ary ny adala sy ny ketrina samy levona ka mamela ny fananany ho an' ny hafa."
11. Their inward thought is, that their houses shall continue for ever, and their dwelling places to all generations; they call their lands after their own names.
11. (49:12) Ils s`imaginent que leurs maisons seront éternelles, Que leurs demeures subsisteront d`âge en âge, Eux dont les noms sont honorés sur la terre.
11. "Araka ny heviny, dia ataony fa ho mandrakizay ny tranony, ary ny fonenany hahatratra ny taranaka rehetra; araka ny anarany no anononany ny taniny."
12. Nevertheless man being in honour abideth not: he is like the beasts that perish.
12. (49:13) Mais l`homme qui est en honneur n`a point de durée, Il est semblable aux bêtes que l`on égorge.
12. "Nefa na dia manana voninahitra aza ny olona, dia tsy maharitra izy; tahaka ny biby izay ho faty izy."
13. This their way is their folly: yet their posterity approve their sayings. Selah.
13. (49:14) Telle est leur voie, leur folie, Et ceux qui les suivent se plaisent à leurs discours. -Pause.
13. Izany làlany izany no fahadalany: ary ny taranany dia mankasitraka ny teniny.[Sela.]
14. Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed on them; and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning; and their beauty shall consume in the grave from their dwelling.
14. "(49:15) Comme un troupeau, ils sont mis dans le séjour des morts, La mort en fait sa pâture; Et bientôt les hommes droits les foulent aux pieds, Leur beauté s`évanouit, le séjour des morts est leur demeure."
14. "Tahaka ny fanangona ondry no fanangona azy any amin' ny fasana; ny fahafatesana no hihinana azy; ary hanapaka azy ny mahitsy nony maraina; ary ny bikany ho levona any amin' ny fasana fonenany."
15. But God will redeem my soul from the power of the grave: for he shall receive me. Selah.
15. (49:16) Mais Dieu sauvera mon âme du séjour des morts, Car il me prendra sous sa protection. -Pause.
15. Fa Andriamanitra kosa hamonjy ahy amin' ny herin' ny fasana, satria handray ahy izy.[Sela.]
16. Be not thou afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of his house is increased;
16. "(49:17) Ne sois pas dans la crainte parce qu`un homme s`enrichit, Parce que les trésors de sa maison se multiplient;"
16. "Aza matahotra ianao, raha misy olona tonga manankarena, ka mitombo ny voninahitry ny tranony;"
17. For when he dieth he shall carry nothing away: his glory shall not descend after him.
17. (49:18) Car il n`emporte rien en mourant, Ses trésors ne descendent point après lui.
17. "Fa tsy hitondra na inona na inona izy, raha maty; tsy mba hidina hanaraka azy ny voninahiny."
18. Though while he lived he blessed his soul: and men will praise thee, when thou doest well to thyself.
18. (49:19) Il aura beau s`estimer heureux pendant sa vie, On aura beau te louer des jouissances que tu te donnes,
18. Na dia niarahaba tena aza izy fony mbola velona, (fa hidera anao ny olona, raha manisy soa ny tenanao ianao,)
19. He shall go to the generation of his fathers; they shall never see light.
19. (49:20) Tu iras néanmoins au séjour de tes pères, Qui jamais ne reverront la lumière.
19. Dia hankany amin' ny razany izy, tsy hahita ny mazava intsony mandrakizay ireny.
20. Man that is in honour, and understandeth not, is like the beasts that perish.
20. (49:21) L`homme qui est en honneur, et qui n`a pas d`intelligence, Est semblable aux bêtes que l`on égorge.
20. Dia hankany amin' ny razany izy, tsy hahita ny mazava intsony mandrakizay ireny.
