Chapter 18
1. When Jethro, the priest of Midian, Moses' father in law, heard of all that God had done for Moses, and for Israel his people, and that the LORD had brought Israel out of Egypt;
1. "Jéthro, sacrificateur de Madian, beau-père de Moïse, apprit tout ce que Dieu avait fait en faveur de Moïse et d`Israël, son peuple; il apprit que l`Éternel avait fait sortir Israël d`Égypte."

2. Then Jethro, Moses' father in law, took Zipporah, Moses' wife, after he had sent her back,
2. Jéthro, beau-père de Moïse, prit Séphora, femme de Moïse, qui avait été renvoyée.

3. And her two sons; of which the name of the one was Gershom; for he said, I have been an alien in a strange land:

4. And the name of the other was Eliezer; for the God of my father, said he, was mine help, and delivered me from the sword of Pharaoh:

5. And Jethro, Moses' father in law, came with his sons and his wife unto Moses into the wilderness, where he encamped at the mount of God:
5. Jéthro, beau-père de Moïse, avec les fils et la femme de Moïse, vint au désert où il campait, à la montagne de Dieu.
5. Ary Jetro rafozan' i Mosesy tonga niaraka tamin' ny vady aman-janak' i Mosesy tany aminy tany an' efitra, izay nitobiany teo an-tendrombohitr' Andriamanitra.
6. And he said unto Moses, I thy father in law Jethro am come unto thee, and thy wife, and her two sons with her.
6. Il fit dire à Moïse: Moi, ton beau-père Jéthro, je viens vers toi, avec ta femme et ses deux fils.

7. And Moses went out to meet his father in law, and did obeisance, and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare; and they came into the tent.
7. Moïse sortit au-devant de son beau-père, il se prosterna, et il le baisa. Ils s`informèrent réciproquement de leur santé, et ils entrèrent dans la tente de Moïse.

8. And Moses told his father in law all that the LORD had done unto Pharaoh and to the Egyptians for Israel's sake, and all the travail that had come upon them by the way, and how the LORD delivered them.
8. Moïse raconta à son beau-père tout ce que l`Éternel avait fait à Pharaon et à l`Égypte à cause d`Israël, toutes les souffrances qui leur étaient survenues en chemin, et comment l`Éternel les avait délivrés.
8. Ary nambaran' i Mosesy tamin' ny rafozany izay rehetra efa nataon' i Jehovah tamin' i Farao sy tamin' ny Egyptiana noho ny amin' ny Isiraely, mbamin' ny fahoriana rehetra nanjo azy teny an-dalana, sy ny fomba nanafahan' i Jehovah azy.
9. And Jethro rejoiced for all the goodness which the LORD had done to Israel, whom he had delivered out of the hand of the Egyptians.
9. Jéthro se réjouit de tout le bien que l`Éternel avait fait à Israël, et de ce qu`il l`avait délivré de la main des Égyptiens.
9. Dia nifaly Jetro noho ny soa rehetra efa nataon' i Jehovah tamin' ny Isiraely, izay efa nafahany tamin' ny tanan' ny Egyptiana.
10. And Jethro said, Blessed be the LORD, who hath delivered you out of the hand of the Egyptians, and out of the hand of Pharaoh, who hath delivered the people from under the hand of the Egyptians.
10. "Et Jéthro dit: Béni soit l`Éternel, qui vous a délivrés de la main des Égyptiens et de la main de Pharaon; qui a délivré le peuple de la main des Égyptiens!"
10. Ary hoy Jetro: Isaorana anie Jehovah, Izay nanafaka anareo tamin' ny tanan' ny Egyptiana, sy tamin' ny tanan' i Farao, ka nanafaka ny olona tsy hotapahin' ny Egyptiana.
11. Now I know that the LORD is greater than all gods: for in the thing wherein they dealt proudly he was above them.
11. "Je reconnais maintenant que l`Éternel est plus grand que tous les dieux; car la méchanceté des Égyptiens est retombée sur eux."
11. "Ankehitriny dia fantatro fa lehibe mihoatra noho ny andriamanitra rehetra Jehovah; fa tamin' ny zavatra nireharehan' ireo no naha-ambony Azy noho ireo."
12. And Jethro, Moses' father in law, took a burnt offering and sacrifices for God: and Aaron came, and all the elders of Israel, to eat bread with Moses' father in law before God.
12. Jéthro, beau-père de Moïse, offrit à Dieu un holocauste et des sacrifices. Aaron et tous les anciens d`Israël vinrent participer au repas avec le beau-père de Moïse, en présence de Dieu.
12. "Ary Jetro, rafozan' i Mosesy, nitondra fanatitra dorana sy sorona ho an' Andriamanitra; dia tonga Arona mbamin' ny loholon' ny Isiraely rehetra hiara-mihinan-kanina amin' ny rafozan' i Mosesy teo anatrehan' Andriamanitra."
13. And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses sat to judge the people: and the people stood by Moses from the morning unto the evening.
13. Le lendemain, Moïse s`assit pour juger le peuple, et le peuple se tint devant lui depuis le matin jusqu`au soir.
13. Ary izao no niseho nony ampitso, nipetraka hitsara ny olona Mosesy: ka dia nitsangana teo anilan' i Mosesy ny olona hatramin' ny maraina ka hatramin' ny hariva.
14. And when Moses' father in law saw all that he did to the people, he said, What is this thing that thou doest to the people? why sittest thou thyself alone, and all the people stand by thee from morning unto even?
14. Le beau-père de Moïse vit tout ce qu`il faisait pour le peuple, et il dit: Que fais-tu là avec ce peuple? Pourquoi sièges-tu seul, et tout le peuple se tient-il devant toi, depuis le matin jusqu`au soir?
14. Ary rehefa hitan' ny rafozan' i Mosesy izay rehetra efa nataony tamin' ny olona, dia hoy izy: Inona izao zavatra ataonao amin' ny olona izao? Nahoana no ianao irery ihany no mipetraka, fa ny olona rehetra kosa mitsangana eo anatrehanao hatramin' ny maraina ka hatramin' ny hariva?
15. And Moses said unto his father in law, Because the people come unto me to enquire of God:
15. Moïse répondit à son beau-père: C`est que le peuple vient à moi pour consulter Dieu.
15. Ary hoy Mosesy tamin' ny rafozany: satria mankaty amiko ny olona hanontany amin' Andriamanitra:
16. When they have a matter, they come unto me; and I judge between one and another, and I do make them know the statutes of God, and his laws.
16. "Quand ils ont quelque affaire, ils viennent à moi; je prononce entre eux, et je fais connaître les ordonnances de Dieu et ses lois."
16. Raha misy anton-javatra, dia manatona ahy ireo, ka mitsara ny andaniny sy ny ankilany aho, ary dia mampahafantatra azy ireo ny fitsipik' Andriamanitra sy ny lalàny aho.
17. And Moses' father in law said unto him, The thing that thou doest is not good.
17. Le beau-père de Moïse lui dit: Ce que tu fais n`est pas bien.
17. Ary hoy ny rafozan' i Mosesy taminy: Tsy tsara izao zavatra ataonao izao.
18. Thou wilt surely wear away, both thou, and this people that is with thee: for this thing is too heavy for thee; thou art not able to perform it thyself alone.
18. "Tu t`épuiseras toi-même, et tu épuiseras ce peuple qui est avec toi; car la chose est au-dessus de tes forces, tu ne pourras pas y suffire seul."
18. "Samy ho reraka mihitsy, na ianao na izao olona miaraka aminao izao; fa mavesatra aminao loatra izao zavatra izao, ka tsy ho vitanao irery ny hanao izany."
19. Hearken now unto my voice, I will give thee counsel, and God shall be with thee: Be thou for the people to God-ward, that thou mayest bring the causes unto God:
19. "Maintenant écoute ma voix; je vais te donner un conseil, et que Dieu soit avec toi! Sois l`interprète du peuple auprès de Dieu, et porte les affaires devant Dieu."
19. "Ankehitriny, mihainoa ny feoko, fa hanoro hevitra anao aho, dia homba anao Andriamanitra; aoka ianao ho alalan' ny olona amin' Andriamanitra mba hitondranao ny raharahany amin' Andriamanitra;"
20. And thou shalt teach them ordinances and laws, and shalt shew them the way wherein they must walk, and the work that they must do.
20. "Enseigne-leur les ordonnances et les lois; et fais-leur connaître le chemin qu`ils doivent suivre, et ce qu`ils doivent faire."
20. Ary hampianatra azy didy sy lalàna ianao ka haneho aminy ny lalana tokony halehany sy ny asa tokony hataony.
21. Moreover thou shalt provide out of all the people able men, such as fear God, men of truth, hating covetousness; and place such over them, to be rulers of thousands, and rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens:
21. "Choisis parmi tout le peuple des hommes capables, craignant Dieu, des hommes intègres, ennemis de la cupidité; établis-les sur eux comme chefs de mille, chefs de cent, chefs de cinquante et chefs de dix."
21. Ary mizahà koa eo amin' ny olona rehetra izay lehilahy mahay, sy matahotra an' Andriamanitra, dia lehilahy marina, mankahala fieremana, ka manendre azy ireo ho mpifehy arivo, sy mpifehy zato sy mpifehy dimampolo ary mpifehy folo.
22. And let them judge the people at all seasons: and it shall be, that every great matter they shall bring unto thee, but every small matter they shall judge: so shall it be easier for thyself, and they shall bear the burden with thee.
22. "Qu`ils jugent le peuple en tout temps; qu`ils portent devant toi toutes les affaires importantes, et qu`ils prononcent eux-mêmes sur les petites causes. Allège ta charge, et qu`ils la portent avec toi."
22. "Ary aoka ireo no hitsara ny olona amin' ny fotoana rehetra; ary izao no hisy, ny raharaha lehibe rehetra dia hoentiny aminao, fa ny raharaha madinika rehetra hotsarain' izy ireo; dia ho maivana kokoa aminao izany ka hiara-mitondra ny enta-mavesatra aminao ireo."
23. If thou shalt do this thing, and God command thee so, then thou shalt be able to endure, and all this people shall also go to their place in peace.
23. Si tu fais cela, et que Dieu te donne des ordres, tu pourras y suffire, et tout ce peuple parviendra heureusement à sa destination.

24. So Moses hearkened to the voice of his father in law, and did all that he had said.
24. Moïse écouta la voix de son beau-père, et fit tout ce qu`il avait dit.

25. And Moses chose able men out of all Israel, and made them heads over the people, rulers of thousands, rulers of hundreds, rulers of fifties, and rulers of tens.
25. Moïse choisit des hommes capables parmi tout Israël, et il les établit chefs du peuple, chefs de mille, chefs de cent, chefs de cinquante et chefs de dix.
25. Dia nofidin' i Mosesy izay lehilahy mahay tamin' ny Isiraely rehetra ka nataony ho lohany hifehy ny olona, dia ho mpifehy arivo, ho mpifehy zato, ho mpifehy dimampolo ary ho mpifehy folo.
26. And they judged the people at all seasons: the hard causes they brought unto Moses, but every small matter they judged themselves.
26. "Ils jugeaient le peuple en tout temps; ils portaient devant Moïse les affaires difficiles, et ils prononçaient eux-mêmes sur toutes les petites causes."
26. "Dia nitsara ny olona tamin' ny fotoana rehetra ireo; ny raharaha sarotra no nentiny tany amin' i Mosesy, fa ny raharaha madinika rehetra dia notsarainy ihany."
27. And Moses let his father in law depart; and he went his way into his own land.
27. Moïse laissa partir son beau-père, et Jéthro s`en alla dans son pays.

Chapter 19
1. In the third month, when the children of Israel were gone forth out of the land of Egypt, the same day came they into the wilderness of Sinai.
1. Le troisième mois après leur sortie du pays d`Égypte, les enfants d`Israël arrivèrent ce jour-là au désert de Sinaï.

2. For they were departed from Rephidim, and were come to the desert of Sinai, and had pitched in the wilderness; and there Israel camped before the mount.
2. "Étant partis de Rephidim, ils arrivèrent au désert de Sinaï, et ils campèrent dans le désert; Israël campa là, vis-à-vis de la montagne."

3. And Moses went up unto God, and the LORD called unto him out of the mountain, saying, Thus shalt thou say to the house of Jacob, and tell the children of Israel;
3. Moïse monta vers Dieu: et l`Éternel l`appela du haut de la montagne, en disant: Tu parleras ainsi à la maison de Jacob, et tu diras aux enfants d`Israël:

4. Ye have seen what I did unto the Egyptians, and how I bare you on eagles' wings, and brought you unto myself.
4. Vous avez vu ce que j`ai fait à l`Égypte, et comment je vous ai portés sur des ailes d`aigle et amenés vers moi.
4. Efa nahita izay nataoko tamin' ny Egyptiana ianareo sy izay nitondrako anareo tamin' ny elatry ny voromahery, ary nitondrako anareo ho aty amiko.
5. Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:
5. "Maintenant, si vous écoutez ma voix, et si vous gardez mon alliance, vous m`appartiendrez entre tous les peuples, car toute la terre est à moi;"

6. And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

7. And Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and laid before their faces all these words which the LORD commanded him.
7. Moïse vint appeler les anciens du peuple, et il mit devant eux toutes ces paroles, comme l`Éternel le lui avait ordonné.
7. Dia tonga Mosesy ka nampaka ny loholon' ny vahoaka, dia nalahany teo anatrehany ireo teny rehetra ireo izay nandidian' i Jehovah azy.
8. And all the people answered together, and said, All that the LORD hath spoken we will do. And Moses returned the words of the people unto the LORD.
8. Le peuple tout entier répondit: Nous ferons tout ce que l`Éternel a dit. Moïse rapporta les paroles du peuple à l`Éternel.

9. And the LORD said unto Moses, Lo, I come unto thee in a thick cloud, that the people may hear when I speak with thee, and believe thee for ever. And Moses told the words of the people unto the LORD.
9. Et l`Éternel dit à Moïse: Voici, je viendrai vers toi dans une épaisse nuée, afin que le peuple entende quand je te parlerai, et qu`il ait toujours confiance en toi. Moïse rapporta les paroles du peuple à l`Éternel.
9. Ary hoy Jehovah tamin' i Mosesy: Indro Aho mankeo aminao anatin' ny rahona matevina, mba ho ren' ny olona raha miteny aminao Aho, ka dia hino anao mandrakariva izy. Dia nambaran' i Mosesy tamin' i Jehovah ny tenin' ny olona.
10. And the LORD said unto Moses, Go unto the people, and sanctify them to day and to morrow, and let them wash their clothes,
10. "Et l`Éternel dit à Moïse: Va vers le peuple; sanctifie-les aujourd`hui et demain, qu`ils lavent leurs vêtements."
10. Ary hoy Jehovah tamin' i Mosesy: Mandehana ho eny amin' ny olona ka manamasìna azy anio sy ampitso, ary ampanasao ny fitafiany izy,
11. And be ready against the third day: for the third day the LORD will come down in the sight of all the people upon mount Sinai.
11. "Qu`ils soient prêts pour le troisième jour; car le troisième jour l`Éternel descendra, aux yeux de tout le peuple, sur la montagne de Sinaï."
11. "Ary aoka ho vonona ho amin' ny andro fahatelo; fa amin' ny andro fahatelo no hidinan' i Jehovah eo imason' ny olona rehetra eo ambonin' ny tendrombohitra Sinay."
12. And thou shalt set bounds unto the people round about, saying, Take heed to yourselves, that ye go not up into the mount, or touch the border of it: whosoever toucheth the mount shall be surely put to death:
12. Tu fixeras au peuple des limites tout à l`entour, et tu diras: Gardez-vous de monter sur la montagne, ou d`en toucher le bord. Quiconque touchera la montagne sera puni de mort.
12. "Dia hanisy fefy manodidina ho an' ny olona ianao, ka hanao hoe: Mitandrema ianareo mba tsy hiakatra ao amin' ny tendrombohitra, na hikasika ny sisin' izany; fa na iza na iza no mikasika ny tendrombohitra dia hatao maty tokoa."
13. There shall not an hand touch it, but he shall surely be stoned, or shot through; whether it be beast or man, it shall not live: when the trumpet soundeth long, they shall come up to the mount.
13. On ne mettra pas la main sur lui, mais on le lapidera, ou on le percera de flèches: animal ou homme, il ne vivra point. Quand la trompette sonnera, ils s`avanceront près de la montagne.

14. And Moses went down from the mount unto the people, and sanctified the people; and they washed their clothes.
14. "Moïse descendit de la montagne vers le peuple; il sanctifia le peuple, et ils lavèrent leurs vêtements."
14. Dia nidina avy tao an-tendrombohitra Mosesy ho eny amin' ny olona, ka nanamasina ny olona, dia nanasa ny fitafiany ireo.
15. And he said unto the people, Be ready against the third day: come not at your wives.
15. "Et il dit au peuple: Soyez prêts dans trois jours; ne vous approchez d`aucune femme."
15. "Ary hoy izy tamin' ny olona: Mivonòna ho amin' ny andro fahatelo; aza manakaiky ny vadinareo."
16. And it came to pass on the third day in the morning, that there were thunders and lightnings, and a thick cloud upon the mount, and the voice of the trumpet exceeding loud; so that all the people that was in the camp trembled.
16. "Le troisième jour au matin, il y eut des tonnerres, des éclairs, et une épaisse nuée sur la montagne; le son de la trompette retentit fortement; et tout le peuple qui était dans le camp fut saisi d`épouvante."
16. " Ary izao no niseho tamin' ny marain' ny andro fahatelo, nisy kotroka sy tselatra sy rahona matevina teo ambony tendrombohitra ary feon' ny anjomara mafy indrindra; ka dia toran-kovitra ny olona rehetra izay teo amin' ny toby."
17. And Moses brought forth the people out of the camp to meet with God; and they stood at the nether part of the mount.
17. "Moïse fit sortir le peuple du camp, à la rencontre de Dieu; et ils se placèrent au bas de la montagne."
17. "Ary nitondra ny olona nivoaka avy teo an-toby Mosesy mba hihaona amin' Andriamanitra; dia nijanona teo am-bodin' ny tendrombohitra izy ireo."
18. And mount Sinai was altogether on a smoke, because the LORD descended upon it in fire: and the smoke thereof ascended as the smoke of a furnace, and the whole mount quaked greatly.
18. "La montagne de Sinaï était tout en fumée, parce que l`Éternel y était descendu au milieu du feu; cette fumée s`élevait comme la fumée d`une fournaise, et toute la montagne tremblait avec violence."
18. "Ary nidona-tsetroka avokoa ny tendrombohitra Sinay, satria Jehovah nidina teo amboniny tao anaty afo; ary ny setrok' izany dia niakatra tahaka ny setroky ny lafaoro lehibe, ary nihorohoro mafy ny tendrombohitra manontolo."
19. And when the voice of the trumpet sounded long, and waxed louder and louder, Moses spake, and God answered him by a voice.
19. Le son de la trompette retentissait de plus en plus fortement. Moïse parlait, et Dieu lui répondait à haute voix.

20. And the LORD came down upon mount Sinai, on the top of the mount: and the LORD called Moses up to the top of the mount; and Moses went up.
20. "Ainsi l`Éternel descendit sur la montagne de Sinaï, sur le sommet de la montagne; l`Éternel appela Moïse sur le sommet de la montagne. Et Moïse monta."
20. "Ary nidina nankeo an-tendrombohitra Sinay Jehovah, dia teo an-tampon' ny tendrombohitra; ary niantso an' i Mosesy hankeo an-tampon' ny tendrombohitra Jehovah; dia niakatra Mosesy."
21. And the LORD said unto Moses, Go down, charge the people, lest they break through unto the LORD to gaze, and many of them perish.
21. L`Éternel dit à Moïse: Descends, fais au peuple la défense expresse de se précipiter vers l`Éternel, pour regarder, de peur qu`un grand nombre d`entre eux ne périssent.
21. Ary hoy Jehovah tamin' i Mosesy: Midìna, anaro ny olona, fandrao hisisika ireo hankao amin' i Jehovah hitazana, ka maro aminy no ho faty.
22. And let the priests also, which come near to the LORD, sanctify themselves, lest the LORD break forth upon them.
22. Que les sacrificateurs, qui s`approchent de l`Éternel, se sanctifient aussi, de peur que l`Éternel ne les frappe de mort.

23. And Moses said unto the LORD, The people cannot come up to mount Sinai: for thou chargedst us, saying, Set bounds about the mount, and sanctify it.
23. Moïse dit à l`Éternel: Le peuple ne pourra pas monter sur la montagne de Sinaï, car tu nous en as fait la défense expresse, en disant: Fixe des limites autour de la montagne, et sanctifie-la.

24. And the LORD said unto him, Away, get thee down, and thou shalt come up, thou, and Aaron with thee: but let not the priests and the people break through to come up unto the LORD, lest he break forth upon them.
24. "L`Éternel lui dit: Va, descends; tu monteras ensuite avec Aaron; mais que les sacrificateurs et le peuple ne se précipitent point pour monter vers l`Éternel, de peur qu`il ne les frappe de mort."
24. "Ary hoy Jehovah taminy: mandehana midina, dia hiakatra ianao, ianao sy arona miaraka aminao; fa ny mpisorona sy ny olona aza avela hisisika hiakatra ho ao amin' i Jehovah, fandrao himaona hamely ireo Izy."
25. So Moses went down unto the people, and spake unto them.
25. Moïse descendit vers le peuple, et lui dit ces choses.

Chapter 20
1. And God spake all these words, saying,
1. Alors Dieu prononça toutes ces paroles, en disant:

2. I am the LORD thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
2. Je suis l`Éternel, ton Dieu, qui t`ai fait sortir du pays d`Égypte, de la maison de servitude.
2. Izaho no Jehovah Andriamanitrao, Izay nitondra anao nivoaka avy tany amin' ny tany Egypta, avy tamin' ny trano nahandevozana.
3. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
3. Tu n`auras pas d`autres dieux devant ma face.
3. "Aza manana andriamani-kafa eo anatrehako;"
4. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
4. Tu ne te feras point d`image taillée, ni de représentation quelconque des choses qui sont en haut dans les cieux, qui sont en bas sur la terre, et qui sont dans les eaux plus bas que la terre.
4. Aza manao sarin-javatra voasokitra ho anao, na ny mety ho endriky ny zavatra izay eny amin' ny lanitra ambony, na izay ety amin' ny tany ambany, na izay any amin' ny rano ambanin' ny tany.
5. Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
5. "Tu ne te prosterneras point devant elles, et tu ne les serviras point; car moi, l`Éternel, ton Dieu, je suis un Dieu jaloux, qui punis l`iniquité des pères sur les enfants jusqu`à la troisième et la quatrième génération de ceux qui me haïssent,"
5. "Aza miankohoka aminy ianao, na manompo azy; fa Izaho Jehovah Andriamanitrao dia Andriamanitra saro-piaro, ka mamaly ny heloky ny ray amin' ny zanaka ka hatramin' ny zafiafy sy ny zafindohalik' izay mankahala Ahy."
6. And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
6. et qui fais miséricorde jusqu`en mille générations à ceux qui m`aiment et qui gardent mes commandements.

7. Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
7. "Tu ne prendras point le nom de l`Éternel, ton Dieu, en vain; car l`Éternel ne laissera point impuni celui qui prendra son nom en vain."
7. "Aza manonona foana ny anaran' i Jehovah Andriamanitrao; fa tsy hataon' i Jehovah ho tsy meloka izay manonona foana ny anarany."
8. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
8. Souviens-toi du jour du repos, pour le sanctifier.
8. Mahatsiarova ny andro sabata hanamasina azy.
9. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work:
9. Tu travailleras six jours, et tu feras tout ton ouvrage.
9. Henemana no hiasanao sy hanaovanao ny raharahanao rehetra:
10. But the seventh day is the sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates:
10. Mais le septième jour est le jour du repos de l`Éternel, ton Dieu: tu ne feras aucun ouvrage, ni toi, ni ton fils, ni ta fille, ni ton serviteur, ni ta servante, ni ton bétail, ni l`étranger qui est dans tes portes.
10. "Fa sabatan' i Jehovah Andriamanitrao ny andro fahafito; koa aza manao raharaha akory ianao amin' izany, na ianao, na ny zanakao lahy, na ny zanakao vavy, na ny mpanompolahinao, na ny mpanompovavinao, na ny biby fiompinao, na ny vahininao izay tafiditra eo am-bavahadinao."
11. For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.
11. Car en six jours l`Éternel a fait les cieux, la terre et la mer, et tout ce qui y est contenu, et il s`est reposé le septième jour: c`est pourquoi l`Éternel a béni le jour du repos et l`a sanctifié.
11. "Fa henemana no nanaovan' i Jehovah ny lanitra sy ny tany sy ny ranomasina mbamin' izay rehetra ao aminy, dia nitsahatra Izy tamin' ny andro fahafito; izany no nitahian' i Jehovah ny andro sabata sy nanamasinany azy."
12. Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.
12. Honore ton père et ta mère, afin que tes jours se prolongent dans le pays que l`Éternel, ton Dieu, te donne.
12. Manajà ny rainao sy ny reninao mba ho lava andro ianao eo amin' ny tany izay omen' i Jehovah Andriamanitrao anao.
13. Thou shalt not kill.
13. Tu ne tueras point.
13. Aza mamono olona.
14. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
14. Tu ne commettras point d`adultère.
14. Aza mijangajanga.
15. Thou shalt not steal.
15. Tu ne déroberas point.
15. Aza mangalatra.
16. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
16. Tu ne porteras point de faux témoignage contre ton prochain.
16. Aza milaza vavolombelona tsy marina hamelezana ny namanao.
17. Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
17. "Tu ne convoiteras point la maison de ton prochain; tu ne convoiteras point la femme de ton prochain, ni son serviteur, ni sa servante, ni son boeuf, ni son âne, ni aucune chose qui appartienne à ton prochain."
17. "Aza mitsiriritra haka ny tranon' ny namanao; aza mitsiriritra haka ny vadin' ny namanao, na ny mpanompolahiny, na ny mpanompovaviny, na ny ombiny, na ny borikiny, na izay mety ho an' ny namanao akory aza."
18. And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off.
18. "Tout le peuple entendait les tonnerres et le son de la trompette; il voyait les flammes de la montagne fumante. A ce spectacle, le peuple tremblait, et se tenait dans l`éloignement."
18. " Ary ny olona rehetra nahita ny kotroka sy ny tselatra sy ny feon' ny anjomara ary ny tendrombohitra nidona-tsetroka; ary nony nahita izany ny olona, dia nifindra ka nijanona teny lavitra eny."
19. And they said unto Moses, Speak thou with us, and we will hear: but let not God speak with us, lest we die.
19. "Ils dirent à Moïse: Parle-nous toi-même, et nous écouterons; mais que Dieu ne nous parle point, de peur que nous ne mourions."
19. "Dia hoy izy ireo tamin' i Mosesy: Mitenena aminay ianao, dia hihaino izahay; fa aza Andriamanitra no avela hiteny aminay, fandrao maty izahay."
20. And Moses said unto the people, Fear not: for God is come to prove you, and that his fear may be before your faces, that ye sin not.
20. "Moïse dit au peuple: Ne vous effrayez pas; car c`est pour vous mettre à l`épreuve que Dieu est venu, et c`est pour que vous ayez sa crainte devant les yeux, afin que vous ne péchiez point."
20. "Dia hoy Mosesy tamin' ny olona: Aza matahotra; fa tonga Andriamanitra mba hizaha toetra anareo, ary mba ho eo anatrehan' ny tavanareo ny fahatahorana Azy, mba tsy hanotanareo."
21. And the people stood afar off, and Moses drew near unto the thick darkness where God was.
21. "Le peuple restait dans l`éloignement; mais Moïse s`approcha de la nuée où était Dieu."
21. Dia nijanona teny lavitra eny ny olona fa Mosesy kosa nanakaiky ny haizim-pito izay nisy an' Andriamanitra.
22. And the LORD said unto Moses, Thus thou shalt say unto the children of Israel, Ye have seen that I have talked with you from heaven.
22. L`Éternel dit à Moïse: Tu parleras ainsi aux enfants d`Israël: Vous avez vu que je vous ai parlé depuis les cieux.
22. Ary hoy Jehovah tamin' i Mosesy: Izao no holazainao amin' ny Zanak' isiraely: Efa nahita ianareo fa avy tany an-danitra no nitenenako taminareo.
23. Ye shall not make with me gods of silver, neither shall ye make unto you gods of gold.
23. "Vous ne ferez point des dieux d`argent et des dieux d`or, pour me les associer; vous ne vous en ferez point."
23. Aza manao andriamanitra volafotsy miaraka amiko, ary aza manao andriamanitra volamena ho anareo.
24. An altar of earth thou shalt make unto me, and shalt sacrifice thereon thy burnt offerings, and thy peace offerings, thy sheep, and thine oxen: in all places where I record my name I will come unto thee, and I will bless thee.
24. Tu m`élèveras un autel de terre, sur lequel tu offriras tes holocaustes et tes sacrifices d`actions de grâces, tes brebis et tes boeufs. Partout où je rappellerai mon nom, je viendrai à toi, et je te bénirai.
24. " Alitara tany no hataonao ho Ahy, ka haterinao eo amboniny ny fanatitra doranao sy ny fanati-pihavananao, ny ondry sy ny ombinao; eo amin' ny fitoerana rehetra izay ampahatsiarovako ny anarako no hanatonako anao sy hitahiako anao."
25. And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone: for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.
25. "Si tu m`élèves un autel de pierre, tu ne le bâtiras point en pierres taillées; car en passant ton ciseau sur la pierre, tu la profanerais."
25. Ary raha alitara vato no hataonao ho Ahy, dia aza ny vato voapaika no hanorenanao azy, fa raha manainga ny fiasànao ho aminy ianao, dia handoto azy.
26. Neither shalt thou go up by steps unto mine altar, that thy nakedness be not discovered thereon.
26. Tu ne monteras point à mon autel par des degrés, afin que ta nudité ne soit pas découverte.
26. Aza miakatra amin' ny ambaratongan-tohatra ho eo amin' ny alitarako ianao mba tsy ho hita eo ny fitanjahanao.
