Setting Up the Lamps
1. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,

1. Ary Jehovah niteny tamin' i Mosesy ka nanao hoe:
2. Speak unto Aaron, and say unto him, When thou lightest the lamps, the seven lamps shall give light over against the candlestick.
2. Parle à Aaron, et tu lui diras: Lorsque tu placeras les lampes sur le chandelier, les sept lampes devront éclairer en face.
2. Mitenena amin' i Arona ka lazao aminy hoe:Raha mampirehitra ny jiro ianao, ny jiro fito dia hanazava ny eo anoloan' ny fanaovanjiro.
3. And Aaron did so; he lighted the lamps thereof over against the candlestick, as the LORD commanded Moses.
3. "Aaron fit ainsi; il plaça les lampes sur le devant du chandelier, comme l`Éternel l`avait ordonné à Moïse."
3. "Dia nataon' i Arona izany; nampirehetiny ny jiro teo anoloan' ny fanaovanjiro, araka izay nandidian' i Mosesy."
4. And this work of the candlestick was of beaten gold, unto the shaft thereof, unto the flowers thereof, was beaten work: according unto the pattern which the LORD had shewed Moses, so he made the candlestick.
4. "Le chandelier était d`or battu; jusqu`à son pied, jusqu`à ses fleurs, il était d`or battu; Moïse avait fait le chandelier d`après le modèle que l`Éternel lui avait montré."
4. "Ary izao no toetry ny fanaovanjiro: volamena novoasana, hatramin' ny faladiany sy ny voniny dia novoasana; araka ny endrika izay efa nasehon' i Jehovah an' i Mosesy no nanaovany ny fanaovanjiro."
The Setting Apart of the Levites
5. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
5. L`Éternel parla à Moïse, et dit:
5. Ary Jehovah niteny tamin' i Mosesy ka nanao hoe:
6. Take the Levites from among the children of Israel, and cleanse them.
6. Prends les Lévites du milieu des enfants d`Israël, et purifie-les.
6. Alao ny Levita avy amin' ny Zanak' Isiraely, ka diovy izy.
7. And thus shalt thou do unto them, to cleanse them: Sprinkle water of purifying upon them, and let them shave all their flesh, and let them wash their clothes, and so make themselves clean.
7. "Voici comment tu les purifieras. Fais sur eux une aspersion d`eau expiatoire; qu`ils fassent passer le rasoir sur tout leur corps, qu`ils lavent leurs vêtements, et qu`ils se purifient."
7. Ary izao no hataonao aminy hanadiovana azy: Fafazo rano fanadiovana eo aminy, ary asaovy haratany avokoa ny tenany rehetra, ary aoka hosasany ny fitafiany, ka hadio izy.
8. Then let them take a young bullock with his meat offering, even fine flour mingled with oil, and another young bullock shalt thou take for a sin offering.
8. "Ils prendront ensuite un jeune taureau, avec l`offrande ordinaire de fleur de farine pétrie à l`huile; et tu prendras un autre jeune taureau pour le sacrifice d`expiation."
8. Dia asaovy maka vantotr' ombilahy mbamin' ny fanatiny hohanina izy, dia koba tsara toto voaharo diloilo ary vantotr' ombilahy iray koa no halainao ho fanatitra noho ny ota.
9. And thou shalt bring the Levites before the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt gather the whole assembly of the children of Israel together:
9. Tu feras approcher les Lévites devant la tente d`assignation, et tu convoqueras toute l`assemblée des enfants d`Israël.
9. "Ary ento ny Levita hankeo anoloan' ny tranolay fihaonana; ary vorio ny fiangonana, dia ny Zanak' Isiraely rehetra."
10. And thou shalt bring the Levites before the LORD: and the children of Israel shall put their hands upon the Levites:
10. "Tu feras approcher les Lévites devant l`Éternel; et les enfants d`Israël poseront leurs mains sur les Lévites."
10. "Ary ento ny Levita hankeo anatrehan' i Jehovah; dia hametraka ny tanany amin' ny Levita ny Zanak' Isiraely."
11. And Aaron shall offer the Levites before the LORD for an offering of the children of Israel, that they may execute the service of the LORD.
11. "Aaron fera tourner de côté et d`autre les Lévites devant l`Éternel, comme une offrande de la part des enfants d`Israël; et ils seront consacrés au service de l`Éternel."
11. Ary Arona dia hanolotra ny Levita eo anatrehan' i Jehovah ho fanatitra avy amin' ny Zanak' Isiraely, mba hanatanterahany ny asa fanompoana an' i Jehovah.
12. And the Levites shall lay their hands upon the heads of the bullocks: and thou shalt offer the one for a sin offering, and the other for a burnt offering, unto the LORD, to make an atonement for the Levites.
12. "Les Lévites poseront leurs mains sur la tête des taureaux; et tu offriras l`un en sacrifice d`expiation, et l`autre en holocauste, afin de faire l`expiation pour les Lévites."
12. "Ary ny Levita hametraka ny tanany amin' ny lohan' ireo vantotr' ombilahy; ary atero ny anankiray ho fanatitra noho ny ota, ary ny anankiray ho fanatitra dorana ho an' i Jehovah hanaovana fanavotana ho an' ny Levita."
13. And thou shalt set the Levites before Aaron, and before his sons, and offer them for an offering unto the LORD.
13. Tu feras tenir les Lévites debout devant Aaron et devant ses fils, et tu les feras tourner de côté et d`autre comme une offrande à l`Éternel.
13. Ary apetraho eo anatrehan' i Arona sy ny zanany lahy ny Levita, ka atolory ho fanatitra ho an' i Jehovah.
14. Thus shalt thou separate the Levites from among the children of Israel: and the Levites shall be mine.
14. "Tu sépareras les Lévites du milieu des enfants d`Israël; et les Lévites m`appartiendront."
14. "Ary avaho amin' ny Zanak' Isiraely ny Levita; dia ho Ahy ny Levita."
15. And after that shall the Levites go in to do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation: and thou shalt cleanse them, and offer them for an offering.
15. Après cela, les Lévites viendront faire le service dans la tente d`assignation. C`est ainsi que tu les purifieras, et que tu les feras tourner de côté et d`autre comme une offrande.
15. "Ary rehefa afaka izany, dia hiditra ny Levita hanao fanompoana ao amin' ny tranolay fihaonana; dia hodiovinao izy, ka atolotrao ho fanatitra."
16. For they are wholly given unto me from among the children of Israel; instead of such as open every womb, even instead of the firstborn of all the children of Israel, have I taken them unto me.
16. Car ils me sont entièrement donnés du milieu des enfants d`Israël: je les ai pris pour moi à la place des premiers-nés, de tous les premiers-nés des enfants d`Israël.
16. "Fa efa nomena Ahy tanteraka avy tamin' ny Zanak' Isiraely izy; ho solon' izay voalohan-teraka rehetra, dia izay lahimatoa rehetra amin' ny Zanak' Isiraely, no nanalako azy ho Ahy."
17. For all the firstborn of the children of Israel are mine, both man and beast: on the day that I smote every firstborn in the land of Egypt I sanctified them for myself.
17. "Car tout premier-né des enfants d`Israël m`appartient, tant des hommes que des animaux; le jour où j`ai frappé tous les premiers-nés dans le pays d`Égypte, je me les suis consacrés."
17. "Fa Ahy ny voalohan-teraka rehetra amin' ny Zanak' Isiraely, na olona na biby; tamin' ny andro izay namelezako ny voalohan-teraka rehetra tany amin' ny tany Egypta no nanamasinako azy ho Ahy."
18. And I have taken the Levites for all the firstborn of the children of Israel.
18. Et j`ai pris les Lévites à la place de tous les premiers-nés des enfants d`Israël.
18. Ary efa nalaiko ny Levita ho solon' ny lahimatoa rehetra amin' ny Zanak' Isiraely.
19. And I have given the Levites as a gift to Aaron and to his sons from among the children of Israel, to do the service of the children of Israel in the tabernacle of the congregation, and to make an atonement for the children of Israel: that there be no plague among the children of Israel, when the children of Israel come nigh unto the sanctuary.
19. J`ai donné les Lévites entièrement à Aaron et à ses fils, du milieu des enfants d`Israël, pour qu`ils fassent le service des enfants d`Israël dans la tente d`assignation, pour qu`ils fassent l`expiation pour les enfants d`Israël, et pour que les enfants d`Israël ne soient frappés d`aucune plaie, en s`approchant du sanctuaire.
19. Ary nomeko ho an' i Arona sy ny zanany lahy ny Levita avy amin' ny Zanak' Isiraely, hanao ny fanompoan' ny Zanak' Isiraely ao amin' ny tranolay fihaonana sy hanao fanavotana ho an' ny Zanak' Isiraely, mba tsy hisy areti-mandringana, raha manakaiky ny fitoerana masina ny Zanak' Isiraely.
20. And Moses, and Aaron, and all the congregation of the children of Israel, did to the Levites according unto all that the LORD commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did the children of Israel unto them.
20. "Moïse, Aaron et toute l`assemblée des enfants d`Israël, firent à l`égard des Lévites tout ce que l`Éternel avait ordonné à Moïse touchant les Lévites; ainsi firent à leur égard les enfants d`Israël."
20. "Dia nataon' i Mosesy sy Arona mbamin' ny fiangonan' ny Zanak' Isiraely tamin' ny Levita araka izay rehetra nandidian' i Jehovah an' i Mosesy, dia izany no nataon' ny Zanak' Isiraely taminy;"
21. And the Levites were purified, and they washed their clothes; and Aaron offered them as an offering before the LORD; and Aaron made an atonement for them to cleanse them.
21. "Les Lévites se purifièrent, et lavèrent leurs vêtements; Aaron les fit tourner de côté et d`autre comme une offrande devant l`Éternel, et il fit l`expiation pour eux, afin de les purifier."
21. "Dia nodiovina ny Levita ka nanasa ny fitafiany, dia natolotr' i Arona ho fanatitra teo anatrehan' i Jehovah izy; ary Arona nanao fanavotana ho azy mba hanadio azy."
22. And after that went the Levites in to do their service in the tabernacle of the congregation before Aaron, and before his sons: as the LORD had commanded Moses concerning the Levites, so did they unto them.
22. "Après cela, les Lévites vinrent faire leur service dans la tente d`assignation, en présence d`Aaron et de ses fils, selon ce que l`Éternel avait ordonné à Moïse touchant les Lévites; ainsi fut-il fait à leur égard."
22. "Ary rehefa afaka izany, dia niditra ny Levita hanao ny fanompoana ao amin' ny tranolay fihaonana teo anatrehan' i Arona sy ny zanany lahy; araka izay efa nandidian' i Jehovah an' i Mosesy ny amin' ny Levita no nataony."
23. And the LORD spake unto Moses, saying,
23. L`Éternel parla à Moïse, et dit:
23. Ary Jehovah niteny tamin' i Mosesy ka nanao hoe:
24. This is it that belongeth unto the Levites: from twenty and five years old and upward they shall go in to wait upon the service of the tabernacle of the congregation:
24. Voici ce qui concerne les Lévites. Depuis l`âge de vingt-cinq ans et au-dessus, tout Lévite entrera au service de la tente d`assignation pour y exercer une fonction.
24. "Ny amin' ny Levita dia izao: Hatramin' ny dimy amby roapolo taona no ho miakatra izy no hanatona hilatsaka amin' ny antokony hanao ny fanompoana ao amin' ny tranolay fihaonana;"
25. And from the age of fifty years they shall cease waiting upon the service thereof, and shall serve no more:
25. Depuis l`âge de cinquante ans, il sortira de fonction, et ne servira plus.
25. "Fa rehefa dimampolo taona kosa izy dia hiala amin' ny fanompoana, ka tsy hanompo intsony;"
26. But shall minister with their brethren in the tabernacle of the congregation, to keep the charge, and shall do no service. Thus shalt thou do unto the Levites touching their charge.
26. "Il aidera ses frères dans la tente d`assignation, pour garder ce qui est remis à leurs soins; mais il ne fera plus de service. Tu agiras ainsi à l`égard des Lévites pour ce qui concerne leurs fonctions."
26. Kanefa hanompo miaraka amin' ny rahalahiny ao amin' ny tranolay fihaonana izy mba hitandrina ny anjara-raharaha, fa tsy hanao fanompoana. Izany no hataonao amin' ny Levita ny amin' ny anjara raharahany.
