The Water of Cleansing
1. And the LORD spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,

2. This is the ordinance of the law which the LORD hath commanded, saying, Speak unto the children of Israel, that they bring thee a red heifer without spot, wherein is no blemish, and upon which never came yoke:
2. Voici ce qui est ordonné par la loi que l`Éternel a prescrite, en disant: Parle aux enfants d`Israël, et qu`ils t`amènent une vache rousse, sans tache, sans défaut corporel, et qui n`ait point porté le joug.
2. Izao no lalàna hotandremanareo, izay efa nandidian' i Jehovah: Lazao amin' ny Zanak' Isiraely mba hitondrany vantotr' ombivavy mena, izay tsy misy kilema na tsiny sady tsy mbola nasiana zioga.
3. And ye shall give her unto Eleazar the priest, that he may bring her forth without the camp, and one shall slay her before his face:
3. Vous la remettrez au sacrificateur Éléazar, qui la fera sortir du camp, et on l`égorgera devant lui.

4. And Eleazar the priest shall take of her blood with his finger, and sprinkle of her blood directly before the tabernacle of the congregation seven times:
4. Le sacrificateur Éléazar prendra du sang de la vache avec le doigt, et il en fera sept fois l`aspersion sur le devant de la tente d`assignation.
4. Dia hanalan' i Eleazara mpisorona amin' ny fanondrony ny rany ka hafafiny impito manandrify ny tranolay fihaonana.
5. And one shall burn the heifer in his sight; her skin, and her flesh, and her blood, with her dung, shall he burn:
5. "On brûlera la vache sous ses yeux; on brûlera sa peau, sa chair et son sang, avec ses excréments."
5. Dia hodorana eo imasony ilay vantotr' ombivavy: ny hodiny sy ny henany ary ny rany mbamin' ny tain-drorohany dia hodorana avokoa.
6. And the priest shall take cedar wood, and hyssop, and scarlet, and cast it into the midst of the burning of the heifer.
6. Le sacrificateur prendra du bois de cèdre, de l`hysope et du cramoisi, et il les jettera au milieu des flammes qui consumeront la vache.
6. Ary ny mpisorona dia haka hazo sedera sy hysopa ary jaky ka hanipy azy eo afovoan' ny afo andoroana ny vantotr' ombivavy.
7. Then the priest shall wash his clothes, and he shall bathe his flesh in water, and afterward he shall come into the camp, and the priest shall be unclean until the even.
7. "Le sacrificateur lavera ses vêtements, et lavera son corps dans l`eau; puis il rentrera dans le camp, et sera impur jusqu`au soir."
7. "Dia hosasan' ny mpisorona ny fitafiany ary handro amin' ny rano izy, ary rehefa afaka izany dia hankeo an-toby izy; ary haloto mandra-paharivan' ny andro ny mpisorona."
8. And he that burneth her shall wash his clothes in water, and bathe his flesh in water, and shall be unclean until the even.
8. "Celui qui aura brûlé la vache lavera ses vêtements dans l`eau, et lavera son corps dans l`eau; et il sera impur jusqu`au soir."
8. Ary izay nandoro ilay ombivavy dia hanasa ny fitafiany sady handro amin' ny rano, ary haloto mandra-paharivan' ny andro.
9. And a man that is clean shall gather up the ashes of the heifer, and lay them up without the camp in a clean place, and it shall be kept for the congregation of the children of Israel for a water of separation: it is a purification for sin.
9. "Un homme pur recueillera la cendre de la vache, et la déposera hors du camp, dans un lieu pur; on la conservera pour l`assemblée des enfants d`Israël, afin d`en faire l`eau de purification. C`est une eau expiatoire."
9. Dia hangonin' izay lehilahy madio anankiray ny lavenon' ilay vantotr' ombivavy ka hapetrany eo ivelan' ny toby eo amin' izay fitoerana madio anankiray, dia hotehirizina ho an' ny fiangonan' ny Zanak' Isiraely izany ho rano fanokanana: izany dia fanadiovana ny ota.
10. And he that gathereth the ashes of the heifer shall wash his clothes, and be unclean until the even: and it shall be unto the children of Israel, and unto the stranger that sojourneth among them, for a statute for ever.
10. Celui qui aura recueilli la cendre de la vache lavera ses vêtements, et sera impur jusqu`au soir. Ce sera une loi perpétuelle pour les enfants d`Israël et pour l`étranger en séjour au milieu d`eux.
10. "Ary ilay nanangona ny lavenon' ny vantotr' ombivavy dia hanasa ny fitafiany, ary haloto mandra-paharivan' ny andro; ary ho lalàna mandrakizay ho an' ny Zanak' Isiraely sy ny vahiny izay mivahiny eo aminareo izany."
11. He that toucheth the dead body of any man shall be unclean seven days.
11. Celui qui touchera un mort, un corps humain quelconque, sera impur pendant sept jours.
11. Izay mikasika fatin' olona dia haloto hafitoana.
12. He shall purify himself with it on the third day, and on the seventh day he shall be clean: but if he purify not himself the third day, then the seventh day he shall not be clean.
12. "Il se purifiera avec cette eau le troisième jour et le septième jour, et il sera pur; mais, s`il ne se purifie pas le troisième jour et le septième jour, il ne sera pas pur."
12. "Hanadio ny tenany amin' izany rano izany izy amin' ny andro fahatelo, ary amin' ny andro fahafito dia hadio izy; fa raha tsy manadio ny tenany amin' ny andro fahatelo kosa izy dia tsy hadio amin' ny andro fahafito."
13. Whosoever toucheth the dead body of any man that is dead, and purifieth not himself, defileth the tabernacle of the LORD; and that soul shall be cut off from Israel: because the water of separation was not sprinkled upon him, he shall be unclean; his uncleanness is yet upon him.
13. "Celui qui touchera un mort, le corps d`un homme qui sera mort, et qui ne se purifiera pas, souille le tabernacle de l`Éternel; celui-là sera retranché d`Israël. Comme l`eau de purification n`a pas été répandue sur lui, il est impur, et son impureté est encore sur lui."
13. "Izay rehetra mikasika fatin' olona ka tsy manadio ny tenany dia mandoto ny tabernakelin' i Jehovah ka hofongorana tsy ho amin' ny Isiraely; satria tsy nofafazana ny rano fanokanana izy, dia haloto izy; ny fahalotony mbola eo aminy ihany."
14. This is the law, when a man dieth in a tent: all that come into the tent, and all that is in the tent, shall be unclean seven days.
14. Voici la loi. Lorsqu`un homme mourra dans une tente, quiconque entrera dans la tente, et quiconque se trouvera dans la tente, sera impur pendant sept jours.
14. Izao no lalàna, raha misy olona maty ao an-day: Izay rehetra miditra ao an-day sy izay rehetra ao anatin' ny lay dia haloto hafitoana.
15. And every open vessel, which hath no covering bound upon it, is unclean.
15. Tout vase découvert, sur lequel il n`y aura point de couvercle attaché, sera impur.
15. Ary ny fanaka rehetra misokatra izay tsy misy rakotra voafehy aminy, dia haloto.
16. And whosoever toucheth one that is slain with a sword in the open fields, or a dead body, or a bone of a man, or a grave, shall be unclean seven days.
16. Quiconque touchera, dans les champs, un homme tué par l`épée, ou un mort, ou des ossements humains, ou un sépulcre, sera impur pendant sept jours.
16. Ary izay rehetra mikasika izay matin-tsabatra any an-tsaha, na fatin' olona, na taolan' olona, na fasana, dia haloto hafitoana.
17. And for an unclean person they shall take of the ashes of the burnt heifer of purification for sin, and running water shall be put thereto in a vessel:
17. On prendra, pour celui qui est impur, de la cendre de la victime expiatoire qui a été brûlée, et on mettra dessus de l`eau vive dans un vase.
17. Dia hangalana ho an' ny maloto ny lavenon' ilay nodorana ho fanadiovana amin' ny ota, ary ny rano nalaina tamin' ny rano mandeha dia ataony amin' izany eo am-bilia.
18. And a clean person shall take hyssop, and dip it in the water, and sprinkle it upon the tent, and upon all the vessels, and upon the persons that were there, and upon him that touched a bone, or one slain, or one dead, or a grave:
18. "Un homme pur prendra de l`hysope, et la trempera dans l`eau; puis il en fera l`aspersion sur la tente, sur tous les ustensiles, sur les personnes qui sont là, sur celui qui a touché des ossements, ou un homme tué, ou un mort, ou un sépulcre."
18. Dia haka hysopa ny olona madio anankiray ka hanoboka azy eo amin' ny rano, dia hafafiny amin' ny lay mbamin' ny fanaka rehetra sy ny olona izay eo ary ilay nikasika ny taolana, na ny novonoina, na ny maty, na ny fasana.
19. And the clean person shall sprinkle upon the unclean on the third day, and on the seventh day: and on the seventh day he shall purify himself, and wash his clothes, and bathe himself in water, and shall be clean at even.
19. "Celui qui est pur fera l`aspersion sur celui qui est impur, le troisième jour et le septième jour, et il le purifiera le septième jour. Il lavera ses vêtements, et se lavera dans l`eau; et le soir, il sera pur."
19. "Ary ny maloto dia hofafazan' ilay olona madio amin' ny andro fahatelo sy ny fahafito; dia hanadio ny tenany amin' ny andro fahafito izy ka hanasa ny fitafiany sy handro amin' ny rano, dia hadio rehefa hariva."
20. But the man that shall be unclean, and shall not purify himself, that soul shall be cut off from among the congregation, because he hath defiled the sanctuary of the LORD: the water of separation hath not been sprinkled upon him; he is unclean.
20. "Un homme qui sera impur, et qui ne se purifiera pas, sera retranché du milieu de l`assemblée, car il a souillé le sanctuaire de l`Éternel; comme l`eau de purification n`a pas été répandue sur lui, il est impur."
20. "Fa ny olona izay naloto ka tsy hanadio ny tenany, dia hofongorana tsy ho amin' ny fiangonana izany fanahy izany satria nandoto ny fitoerana masin' i Jehovah izy; ny rano fanokanana tsy nafafy taminy; maloto izy."
21. And it shall be a perpetual statute unto them, that he that sprinkleth the water of separation shall wash his clothes; and he that toucheth the water of separation shall be unclean until even.
21. Ce sera pour eux une loi perpétuelle. Celui qui fera l`aspersion de l`eau de purification lavera ses vêtements, et celui qui touchera l`eau de purification sera impur jusqu`au soir.
21. "Dia ho lalàna mandrakizay aminy izany, fa izay mamafy ny rano fanokanana dia hanasa ny fitafiany; ary izay mikasika ny rano fanokanana dia haloto mandra-paharivan' ny andro."
22. And whatsoever the unclean person toucheth shall be unclean; and the soul that toucheth it shall be unclean until even.
22. Tout ce que touchera celui qui est impur sera souillé, et la personne qui le touchera sera impure jusqu`au soir.
22. "Ary ny zavatra rehetra izay voakasiky ny maloto dia haloto; ary ny fanahy izay mikasika izany dia haloto mandra-paharivan' ny andro."
