The Census
1. And the LORD spake unto Moses in the wilderness of Sinai, in the tabernacle of the congregation, on the first day of the second month, in the second year after they were come out of the land of Egypt, saying,

2. Take ye the sum of all the congregation of the children of Israel, after their families, by the house of their fathers, with the number of their names, every male by their polls;
2. Faites le dénombrement de toute l`assemblée des enfants d`Israël, selon leurs familles, selon les maisons de leurs pères, en comptant par tête les noms de tous les mâles,
2. Alao isa ny fiangonana, dia ny Zanak' Isiraely rehetra, araka ny fianakaviany sy ny ankohonan' ny rainy, araka ny isan' ny anarany, ny lehilahy rehetra araka ny lohany avy.
3. From twenty years old and upward, all that are able to go forth to war in Israel: thou and Aaron shall number them by their armies.

16. These were the renowned of the congregation, princes of the tribes of their fathers, heads of thousands in Israel.
16. Tels sont ceux qui furent convoqués à l`assemblée, princes des tribus de leurs pères, chefs des milliers d`Israël.

17. And Moses and Aaron took these men which are expressed by their names:

18. And they assembled all the congregation together on the first day of the second month, and they declared their pedigrees after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, by their polls.

19. As the LORD commanded Moses, so he numbered them in the wilderness of Sinai.
19. Moïse en fit le dénombrement dans le désert de Sinaï, comme l`Éternel le lui avait ordonné.

20. And the children of Reuben, Israel's eldest son, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
20. On enregistra les fils de Ruben, premier-né d`Israël, selon leurs familles, selon les maisons de leurs pères, en comptant par tête les noms de tous les mâles, depuis l`âge de vingt ans et au-dessus, tous ceux en état de porter les armes:

21. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Reuben, were forty and six thousand and five hundred.

22. Of the children of Simeon, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, those that were numbered of them, according to the number of the names, by their polls, every male from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;
22. "On enregistra les fils de Siméon, selon leurs familles, selon les maisons de leurs pères; on en fit le dénombrement, en comptant par tête les noms de tous les mâles depuis l`âge de vingt ans et au-dessus, tous ceux en état de porter les armes:"

23. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Simeon, were fifty and nine thousand and three hundred.

27. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Judah, were threescore and fourteen thousand and six hundred.

31. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Zebulun, were fifty and seven thousand and four hundred.

32. Of the children of Joseph, namely, of the children of Ephraim, by their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

39. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Dan, were threescore and two thousand and seven hundred.

41. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Asher, were forty and one thousand and five hundred.

42. Of the children of Naphtali, throughout their generations, after their families, by the house of their fathers, according to the number of the names, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war;

43. Those that were numbered of them, even of the tribe of Naphtali, were fifty and three thousand and four hundred.

44. These are those that were numbered, which Moses and Aaron numbered, and the princes of Israel, being twelve men: each one was for the house of his fathers.
44. "Tels sont ceux dont le dénombrement fut fait par Moïse et Aaron, et par les douze hommes, princes d`Israël; il y avait un homme pour chacune des maisons de leurs pères."
44. Ireo no voaisa, dia izay voaisan' i Mosesy sy Arona ary ny andrianan' ny Isiraely roa ambin' ny folo lahy, izay samy avy amin' ny ankohonan' ny rainy.
45. So were all those that were numbered of the children of Israel, by the house of their fathers, from twenty years old and upward, all that were able to go forth to war in Israel;
45. Tous ceux des enfants d`Israël dont on fit le dénombrement, selon les maisons de leurs pères, depuis l`âge de vingt ans et au-dessus, tous ceux d`Israël en état de porter les armes,
45. "Ary ireo rehetra izay voaisa tamin' ny Zanak' Isiraely, araka ny ankohonan' ny rainy, hatramin' ny roapolo taona no ho miakatra, dia izay azo nalefa hanafika teo amin' ny Isiraely;"
46. Even all they that were numbered were six hundred thousand and three thousand and five hundred and fifty.

47. But the Levites after the tribe of their fathers were not numbered among them.
47. Les Lévites, selon la tribu de leurs pères, ne firent point partie de ce dénombrement.

48. For the LORD had spoken unto Moses, saying,
48. L`Éternel parla à Moïse, et dit:

49. Only thou shalt not number the tribe of Levi, neither take the sum of them among the children of Israel:
49. Tu ne feras point le dénombrement de la tribu de Lévi, et tu n`en compteras point les têtes au milieu des enfants d`Israël.
49. "Ny fokon' i Levy no tsy isaina, na alaina isa eo amin' ny Zanak' Isiraely;"
50. But thou shalt appoint the Levites over the tabernacle of testimony, and over all the vessels thereof, and over all things that belong to it: they shall bear the tabernacle, and all the vessels thereof; and they shall minister unto it, and shall encamp round about the tabernacle.
50. Remets aux soins des Lévites le tabernacle du témoignage, tous ses ustensiles et tout ce qui lui appartient. Ils porteront le tabernacle et tous ses ustensiles, ils en feront le service, et ils camperont autour du tabernacle.
50. "Fa tendreo ny Levita hitandrina ny tabernakelin' ny vavolombelona sy ny fanaka rehetra momba azy ary ny zavatra rehetra izay azy; izy no hitondra ny tabernakeliny sy ny fanaka rehetra ao sady hanao ny asa fanompoana ao izy, ka manodidina ny tabernakely no hitobiany."
51. And when the tabernacle setteth forward, the Levites shall take it down: and when the tabernacle is to be pitched, the Levites shall set it up: and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death.
51. "Quand le tabernacle partira, les Lévites le démonteront; quand le tabernacle campera, les Lévites le dresseront; et l`étranger qui en approchera sera puni de mort."
51. "Ary raha hafindra ny tabernakely, dia ny Levita no hangorona azy; ary raha haorina ny tabernakely dia ny Levita no hanangana azy; ary ny vahiny izay manakaiky dia hatao maty."
52. And the children of Israel shall pitch their tents, every man by his own camp, and every man by his own standard, throughout their hosts.
52. Les enfants d`Israël camperont chacun dans son camp, chacun près de sa bannière, selon leurs divisions.
52. Dia hanorina ny lainy ny Zanak' Isiraely samy araka ny tobiny avy, ary samy eo amin' ny fanevany avy, araka ny antokony.
53. But the Levites shall pitch round about the tabernacle of testimony, that there be no wrath upon the congregation of the children of Israel: and the Levites shall keep the charge of the tabernacle of testimony.
53. "Mais les Lévites camperont autour du tabernacle du témoignage, afin que ma colère n`éclate point sur l`assemblée des enfants d`Israël; et les Lévites auront la garde du tabernacle du témoignage."
53. "Fa ny Levita kosa hitoby manodidina ny tabernakelin' ny Vavolombelona, mba tsy hisy fahatezerana hahatratra ny fiangonan' ny Zanak' Isiraely; ary ny Levita hitandrina ny anjara-raharaha momba ny tabernakelin' ny Vavolombelona."
54. And the children of Israel did according to all that the LORD commanded Moses, so did they.
54. "Les enfants d`Israël se conformèrent à tous les ordres que l`Éternel avait donnés à Moïse; ils firent ainsi."
54. "Dia nataon' ny Zanak' Isiraely araka izay rehetra nandidian' i Jehovah an' i Mosesy izany; eny, nataony izany."
