Jesus Heals a Paralytic
1. And he entered into a ship, and passed over, and came into his own city.

2. And, behold, they brought to him a man sick of the palsy, lying on a bed: and Jesus seeing their faith said unto the sick of the palsy; Son, be of good cheer; thy sins be forgiven thee.
2. Et voici, on lui amena un paralytique couché sur un lit. Jésus, voyant leur foi, dit au paralytique: Prends courage, mon enfant, tes péchés te sont pardonnés.

3. And, behold, certain of the scribes said within themselves, This man blasphemeth.
3. Sur quoi, quelques scribes dirent au dedans d`eux: Cet homme blasphème.

4. And Jesus knowing their thoughts said, Wherefore think ye evil in your hearts?
4. Et Jésus, connaissant leurs pensées, dit: Pourquoi avez-vous de mauvaises pensées dans vos coeurs?
4. Fa Jesosy nahafantatra ny eritreriny, dia nanao hoe: Nahoana ianareo no mieritreri-dratsy ao am-ponareo?
5. For whether is easier, to say, Thy sins be forgiven thee; or to say, Arise, and walk?
5. Car, lequel est le plus aisé, de dire: Tes péchés sont pardonnés, ou de dire: Lève-toi, et marche?

6. But that ye may know that the Son of man hath power on earth to forgive sins, (then saith he to the sick of the palsy,) Arise, take up thy bed, and go unto thine house.
6. Or, afin que vous sachiez que le Fils de l`homme a sur la terre le pouvoir de pardonner les péchés: Lève-toi, dit-il au paralytique, prends ton lit, et va dans ta maison.

7. And he arose, and departed to his house.
7. Et il se leva, et s`en alla dans sa maison.
7. Dia nitsangana izy ka lasa nody tany an-tranony.
8. But when the multitudes saw it, they marvelled, and glorified God, which had given such power unto men.
8. Quand la foule vit cela, elle fut saisie de crainte, et elle glorifia Dieu, qui a donné aux hommes un tel pouvoir.

The Calling of Matthew
9. And as Jesus passed forth from thence, he saw a man, named Matthew, sitting at the receipt of custom: and he saith unto him, Follow me. And he arose, and followed him.
9. De là étant allé plus loin, Jésus vit un homme assis au lieu des péages, et qui s`appelait Matthieu. Il lui dit: Suis-moi. Cet homme se leva, et le suivit.

10. And it came to pass, as Jesus sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with him and his disciples.
10. Comme Jésus était à table dans la maison, voici, beaucoup de publicains et de gens de mauvaise vie vinrent se mettre à table avec lui et avec ses disciples.

11. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Master with publicans and sinners?
11. Les pharisiens virent cela, et ils dirent à ses disciples: Pourquoi votre maître mange-t-il avec les publicains et les gens de mauvaise vie?
11. Ary ny Fariseo, raha nahita izany, dia niteny tamin’ny mpianany hoe: Nahoana kosa ny Mpampianatra anareo no miara-komana amin’ny mpamory hetra sy ny mpanota?
12. But when Jesus heard that, he said unto them, They that be whole need not a physician, but they that are sick.
12. Ce que Jésus ayant entendu, il dit: Ce ne sont pas ceux qui se portent bien qui ont besoin de médecin, mais les malades.
12. Fa raha nahare izany Jesosy, dia nanao taminy hoe: Tsy ny salama no mila dokotera, fa ny marary.
13. But go ye and learn what that meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice: for I am not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
13. Allez, et apprenez ce que signifie: Je prends plaisir à la miséricorde, et non aux sacrifices. Car je ne suis pas venu appeler des justes, mais des pécheurs.
13. "Fa mandehana ka mianara izay hevitry ny teny hoe: “Famindrampo no sitrako, fa tsy fanatitra”; fa tsy tonga hiantso ny marina Aho fa ny mpanota ho amin' ny fibebahana."
Jesus Questioned About Fasting
14. Then came to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees fast oft, but thy disciples fast not?
14. Alors les disciples de Jean vinrent auprès de Jésus, et dirent: Pourquoi nous et les pharisiens jeûnons-nous, tandis que tes disciples ne jeûnent point?
14. Dia nankany amin’i Jesosy ny mpianatr’i Jaona ka nanao hoe: Nahoana izahay sy ny Fariseo no mifady hanina matetika, fa ny mpianatrao kosa tsy mba mifady?
15. And Jesus said unto them, Can the children of the bridechamber mourn, as long as the bridegroom is with them? but the days will come, when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, and then shall they fast.
15. Jésus leur répondit: Les amis de l`époux peuvent-ils s`affliger pendant que l`époux est avec eux? Les jours viendront où l`époux leur sera enlevé, et alors ils jeûneront.
15. Ary hoy Jesosy taminy: Moa mahay misaona ny havan’ny mpampakatra, raha mbola ao aminy ihany ny mpampakatra? Fa ho avy ny andro hanesorana ny mpampakatra hiala aminy, dia amin’izay vao hifady izy.
16. No man putteth a piece of new cloth unto an old garment, for that which is put in to fill it up taketh from the garment, and the rent is made worse.
16. "Personne ne met une pièce de drap neuf à un vieil habit; car elle emporterait une partie de l`habit, et la déchirure serait pire."
16. "Ary tsy misy olona manampina fitafiana tonta amin’ny tapa-damba vaovao; fa ny vaovao izay natampina dia handrovitra ny lamba, ka hitatra ny triatra."
17. Neither do men put new wine into old bottles: else the bottles break, and the wine runneth out, and the bottles perish: but they put new wine into new bottles, and both are preserved.
17. "On ne met pas non plus du vin nouveau dans de vieilles outres; autrement, les outres se rompent, le vin se répand, et les outres sont perdues; mais on met le vin nouveau dans des outres neuves, et le vin et les outres se conservent."
17. "Ary tsy misy manisy divay vaovao ao anaty siny hoditra tonta; raha izany, dia ho triatra ny siny hoditra, ka dia ho raraka ny divay sady ho simba ny siny hoditra; fa ny siny hoditra vaovao no asian’ny olona divay vaovao, dia miara-maharitra izy roroa."
A Dead Girl and a Sick Woman
18. While he spake these things unto them, behold, there came a certain ruler, and worshipped him, saying, My daughter is even now dead: but come and lay thy hand upon her, and she shall live.
18. "Tandis qu`il leur adressait ces paroles, voici, un chef arriva, se prosterna devant lui, et dit: Ma fille est morte il y a un instant; mais viens, impose-lui les mains, et elle vivra."
18. "Raha mbola nilaza izany taminy Izy, indro, tonga ny mpanapaka anankiray, dia niankohoka teo anatrehany ka nanao hoe: Maty ankehitriny izao ny zanako vavy; fa andeha re, mametraha ny tananao aminy, dia ho velona izy."
19. And Jesus arose, and followed him, and so did his disciples.
19. Jésus se leva, et le suivit avec ses disciples.
19. Dia nitsangana Jesosy ka nanaraka azy ary nanao toy izany koa ny mpianany.
20. And, behold, a woman, which was diseased with an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the hem of his garment:
20. Et voici, une femme atteinte d`une perte de sang depuis douze ans s`approcha par derrière, et toucha le bord de son vêtement.
20. Ary, indro, nisy vehivavy anankiray, izay efa narary mitsì-drà roa ambin’ny folo taona, nankeo ivohony ka nanendry ny somotraviavin-dambany.
21. For she said within herself, If I may but touch his garment, I shall be whole.
21. Car elle disait en elle-même: Si je puis seulement toucher son vêtement, je serai guérie.
21. Fa hoy izy anakampony: Na dia ny akanjony ihany aza no voatendriko, dia ho sitrana aho.
22. But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was made whole from that hour.
22. Jésus se retourna, et dit, en la voyant: Prends courage, ma fille, ta foi t`a guérie. Et cette femme fut guérie à l`heure même.
22. Fa nihodina Jesosy, ary raha nahita azy Izy, dia nanao hoe: Matokia, ry zanako vavy, ny finoanao no efa nahasitrana anao. Dia sitrana ilay vehivavy tamin’izay ora izay.
23. And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the minstrels and the people making a noise,
23. Lorsque Jésus fut arrivé à la maison du chef, et qu`il vit les joueurs de flûte et la foule bruyante,
23. Ary Jesosy nony niditra tao an-tranon’ilay mpanapaka ka nahita ny mpitsoka sodina sy ny vahoaka nitabataba,
24. He said unto them, Give place: for the maid is not dead, but sleepeth. And they laughed him to scorn.
24. "il leur dit: Retirez-vous; car la jeune fille n`est pas morte, mais elle dort. Et ils se moquaient de lui."
24. "Dia nanao taminy hoe: Mivoaha; fa tsy maty razazavavy, fa matory. Dia nihomehy naneso Azy ny olona."
25. But when the people were put forth, he went in, and took her by the hand, and the maid arose.
25. Quand la foule eut été renvoyée, il entra, prit la main de la jeune fille, et la jeune fille se leva.
25. Ary nony efa navoaka ny olona, dia niditra Jesosy ka nandray ny tanany, dia nitsangana razazavavy.
26. And the fame hereof went abroad into all that land.
26. Le bruit s`en répandit dans toute la contrée.

Jesus Heals the Blind and Mute
27. And when Jesus departed thence, two blind men followed him, crying, and saying, Thou son of David, have mercy on us.
27. Étant parti de là, Jésus fut suivi par deux aveugles, qui criaient: Aie pitié de nous, Fils de David!
27. Ary nony niala teo Jesosy, dia nisy jamba roa lahy nanaraka Azy sady niantsoantso hoe: Mamindrà fo aminay, ry zanak' i Davida ô!
28. And when he was come into the house, the blind men came to him: and Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They said unto him, Yea, Lord.
28. Lorsqu`il fut arrivé à la maison, les aveugles s`approchèrent de lui, et Jésus leur dit: Croyez-vous que je puisse faire cela? Oui, Seigneur, lui répondirent-ils.
28. "Ary rehefa niditra tao an-trano Izy, dia nanatona Azy ireo jamba; ary hoy Jesosy taminy: Mino va ianareo fa mahay manao izany Aho? Hoy izy taminy: Eny, Tompoko."
29. Then touched he their eyes, saying, According to your faith be it unto you.
29. Alors il leur toucha leurs yeux, en disant: Qu`il vous soit fait selon votre foi.
29. Dia nanendry ny masony Izy ka nanao hoe: Tongava aminareo araka ny finoanareo.
30. And their eyes were opened; and Jesus straitly charged them, saying, See that no man know it.
30. Et leurs yeux s`ouvrirent. Jésus leur fit cette recommandation sévère: Prenez garde que personne ne le sache.
30. "Dia nahiratra ny masony; ary Jesosy namepetra azy mafy ka nanao hoe: Tandremo mba tsy ho fantatr’olona izao."
31. But they, when they were departed, spread abroad his fame in all that country.
31. Mais, dès qu`ils furent sortis, ils répandirent sa renommée dans tout le pays.
31. Kanjo nony niala teo izy roa lahy, dia nampiely ny lazany tamin’izany tany rehetra izany.
32. As they went out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed with a devil.
32. Comme ils s`en allaient, voici, on amena à Jésus un démoniaque muet.
32. Ary rehefa nivoaka ireo, dia indro, nisy lehilahy moana anankiray izay nanana devoly nentin’ny olona tany amin’i Jesosy.
33. And when the devil was cast out, the dumb spake: and the multitudes marvelled, saying, It was never so seen in Israel.
33. Le démon ayant été chassé, le muet parla. Et la foule étonnée disait: Jamais pareille chose ne s`est vue en Israël.
33. "Ary rehefa navoaka ny devoly, dia niteny ilay moana; ary gaga ny vahoaka ka nanao hoe: Tsy mbola nisy nahitana toy izao tamin’ny Isiraely."
34. But the Pharisees said, He casteth out devils through the prince of the devils.
34. Mais les pharisiens dirent: C`est par le prince des démons qu`il chasse les démons.
34. "Fa ny Fariseo kosa nanao hoe: Ny lohan’ny devoly no amoahany ny devoly;"
The Workers Are Few
35. And Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.
35. Jésus parcourait toutes les villes et les villages, enseignant dans les synagogues, prêchant la bonne nouvelle du royaume, et guérissant toute maladie et toute infirmité.
35. Ary Jesosy nandeha nitety ny tanàna rehetra sy ny vohitra, nampianatra tao amin’ny synagoga sy nitory ny filazantsaran’ny fanjakana ary nahasitrana ny aretina rehetra mbamin’ny rofy rehetra teo amin’ny olona.
36. But when he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion on them, because they fainted, and were scattered abroad, as sheep having no shepherd.
36. Voyant la foule, il fut ému de compassion pour elle, parce qu`elle était languissante et abattue, comme des brebis qui n`ont point de berger.
36. Ary nony nahita ny vahoaka Jesosy, dia nahonena Azy ny fijeriny ireo, satria nampahantraina ireo ka niely toy ny ondry tsy misy mpiandry.
37. Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
37. Alors il dit à ses disciples: La moisson est grande, mais il y a peu d`ouvriers.
37. "Dia hoy Izy tamin’ny mpianany: Be tokoa ny vokatra, fa ny mpiasa no vitsy;"
38. Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.
38. Priez donc le maître de la moisson d`envoyer des ouvriers dans sa moisson.
38. Koa amin’izany mangataha amin’ny Tompon’ny vokatra mba hampandehanany mpiasa hamory ny vokatra.
