1. Then drew near unto him all the publicans and sinners for to hear him.

2. And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, This man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them.
2. Et les pharisiens et les scribes murmuraient, disant: Cet homme accueille des gens de mauvaise vie, et mange avec eux.
2. Dia nimonomonona ny Fariseo sy ny mpanoradalàna ka nanao hoe: Ity lehilahy ity mandray ny mpanota ka miara-mihinana aminy.
3. And he spake this parable unto them, saying,
3. Mais il leur dit cette parabole:
3. Ary nanao izao fanoharana izao taminy Izy hoe:
4. What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it?
4. Quel homme d`entre vous, s`il a cent brebis, et qu`il en perde une, ne laisse les quatre-vingt-dix-neuf autres dans le désert pour aller après celle qui est perdue, jusqu`à ce qu`il la retrouve?
4. Iza moa no olona aminareo, izay manana ondry zato, ka very ny anankiray, no tsy mandao ny sivy amby sivifolo any an' efitra, ka mandeha hitady ilay very mandra-pahitany azy?
5. And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
5. Lorsqu`il l`a retrouvée, il la met avec joie sur ses épaules,
5. "Ary rehefa hitany iny, dia ataony eo an-tsorony, ka dia faly izy;"
6. And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.
6. et, de retour à la maison, il appelle ses amis et ses voisins, et leur dit: Réjouissez-vous avec moi, car j`ai retrouvé ma brebis qui était perdue.

7. I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
7. De même, je vous le dis, il y aura plus de joie dans le ciel pour un seul pécheur qui se repent, que pour quatre-vingt-dix-neuf justes qui n`ont pas besoin de repentance.
7. Lazaiko aminareo fa hisy fifaliana toy izany any an-danitra ny amin' ny mpanota iray izay mibebaka noho ny amin' ny olona marina sivy amby sivifolo, izay tsy misy tokony hibebahany.
8. Either what woman having ten pieces of silver, if she lose one piece, doth not light a candle, and sweep the house, and seek diligently till she find it?
8. Ou quelle femme, si elle a dix drachmes, et qu`elle en perde une, n`allume une lampe, ne balaie la maison, et ne cherche avec soin, jusqu`à ce qu`elle la retrouve?
8. Ary iza moa no vehivavy manana farantsakely folo, ka very ny anankiray, no tsy mampirehitra jiro ka mifafa trano sy mitady fatratra mandra-pahitany azy?
9. And when she hath found it, she calleth her friends and her neighbours together, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found the piece which I had lost.
9. Lorsqu`elle l`a retrouvée, elle appelle ses amies et ses voisines, et dit: Réjouissez-vous avec moi, car j`ai retrouvé la drachme que j`avais perdue.
9. "Ary raha hitany iny, dia miantso sy mamory ny vehivavy sakaizany sy ny namany izy ka manao hoe: Avia hiara-mifaly amiko; fa efa hitako ny farantsakely izay veriko."
10. Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.
10. De même, je vous le dis, il y a de la joie devant les anges de Dieu pour un seul pécheur qui se repent.
10. Lazaiko aminareo fa misy fifaliana toy izany eo anatrehan' ny anjelin' Andriamanitra ny amin' ny mpanota iray izay mibebaka.
11. And he said, A certain man had two sons:
11. Il dit encore: Un homme avait deux fils.
11. Ary hoy Jesosy: Nisy lehilahy anankiray nanana zanaka mirahalahy.
12. And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.
12. Le plus jeune dit à son père: Mon père, donne-moi la part de bien qui doit me revenir. Et le père leur partagea son bien.
12. Ary hoy ilay zandriny tamin-drainy: Raiko! omeo ahy ny anjara-fananana tokony ho ahy. Dia nozarainy tamin' izy mirahalahy ny fananany.
13. And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
13. Peu de jours après, le plus jeune fils, ayant tout ramassé, partit pour un pays éloigné, où il dissipa son bien en vivant dans la débauche.
13. Ary nony afaka andro vitsivitsy, dia nangonin' ilay zandriny ny fananany rehetra ka lasa nankany an-tany lavitra izy, dia nandany ny fananany tamin' ny fiveloman-dratsy tany.
14. And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
14. Lorsqu`il eut tout dépensé, une grande famine survint dans ce pays, et il commença à se trouver dans le besoin.
14. Ary rehefa laniny avokoa ny fananany rehetra, dia nisy mosary mafy tamin' izany tany izany, ka tonga nahantra izy.
15. And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
15. Il alla se mettre au service d`un des habitants du pays, qui l`envoya dans ses champs garder les pourceaux.
15. Dia nandeha izy ka niankina tamin' ny tompon-tany anankiray tamin' izany tany izany, ary dia nirahiny tany an-tsahany hiandry kisoa.
16. And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
16. Il aurait bien voulu se rassasier des carouges que mangeaient les pourceaux, mais personne ne lui en donnait.
16. Ary satriny hameno ny kibony tamin' ny hodin-javatra fihinan' ny kisoa, fa tsy nisy nanome azy.
17. And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
17. Étant rentré en lui-même, il se dit: Combien de mercenaires chez mon père ont du pain en abondance, et moi, ici, je meurs de faim!
17. Ary raha nody ny sainy, dia hoy izy: Indrisy! maro ny olona karamain' ny raiko manan-kanina be dia be, fa izaho kosa maty mosary eto!
18. I will arise and go to my father, and will say unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and before thee,
18. Je me lèverai, j`irai vers mon père, et je lui dirai: Mon père, j`ai péché contre le ciel et contre toi,
18. Hiainga aho, dia hody any amin' ny raiko ka hanao aminy hoe: Raiko ô, efa nanota tamin' ny lanitra sy teo anatrehanao aho,
19. And am no more worthy to be called thy son: make me as one of thy hired servants.
19. "je ne suis plus digne d`être appelé ton fils; traite-moi comme l`un de tes mercenaires."

20. And he arose, and came to his father. But when he was yet a great way off, his father saw him, and had compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.
20. Et il se leva, et alla vers son père. Comme il était encore loin, son père le vit et fut ému de compassion, il courut se jeter à son cou et le baisa.

21. And the son said unto him, Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in thy sight, and am no more worthy to be called thy son.
21. Le fils lui dit: Mon père, j`ai péché contre le ciel et contre toi, je ne suis plus digne d`être appelé ton fils.
21. Ary ilay zanany nanao taminy hoe: Raiko ô, efa nanota tamin' ny lanitra sy teo anatrehanao aho ka tsy mendrika hatao hoe zanakao intsony.
22. But the father said to his servants, Bring forth the best robe, and put it on him; and put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet:
22. "Mais le père dit à ses serviteurs: Apportez vite la plus belle robe, et l`en revêtez; mettez-lui un anneau au doigt, et des souliers aux pieds."
22. "Fa ny rainy kosa nanao tamin' ny mpanompony hoe: Alao haingana ny akanjo tsara indrindra ka ampiakanjoy azy; ary asio peratra ny tanany sy kapa ny tongony;"
23. And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:
23. "Amenez le veau gras, et tuez-le. Mangeons et réjouissons-nous;"
23. "Ary ento aty ny zanak' omby nafahy, ka vonoy; ary aoka isika hihinana sy hifaly;"
24. For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.
24. "car mon fils que voici était mort, et il est revenu à la vie; il était perdu, et il est retrouvé. Et ils commencèrent à se réjouir."
24. Fa ity zanako ity efa maty, fa velona indray, ary efa very, fa hita indray. Dia nanomboka nifaly izy.
25. Now his elder son was in the field: and as he came and drew nigh to the house, he heard musick and dancing.
25. Or, le fils aîné était dans les champs. Lorsqu`il revint et approcha de la maison, il entendit la musique et les danses.
25. "Fa tany an-tsaha ny zanany lahimatoa; ary nony nody izy ka mby teo akaiky ny trano, dia nandre zava-maneno sy dihy."
26. And he called one of the servants, and asked what these things meant.
26. Il appela un des serviteurs, et lui demanda ce que c`était.
26. Ary niantso anankiray tamin' ny mpanompony izy ka nanontany azy izay anton' izany zavatra izany.
27. And he said unto him, Thy brother is come; and thy father hath killed the fatted calf, because he hath received him safe and sound.
27. Ce serviteur lui dit: Ton frère est de retour, et, parce qu`il l`a retrouvé en bonne santé, ton père a tué le veau gras.
27. Ary hoy ilay mpanompony taminy: Tonga ny rahalahinao, ka namono ny zanak' omby nafahy ny rainao, satria efa tafaverina soa aman-tsara ato aminy izy.
28. And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.
28. Il se mit en colère, et ne voulut pas entrer. Son père sortit, et le pria d`entrer.
28. "Dia tezitra izy ka tsy nety niditra; ary nivoaka rainy ka nampandroso azy."
29. And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
29. Mais il répondit à son père: Voici, il y a tant d`années que je te sers, sans avoir jamais transgressé tes ordres, et jamais tu ne m`as donné un chevreau pour que je me réjouisse avec mes amis.
29. "Fa namaly izy ka nanao tamin-drainy hoe: Indro, taona maro aho no efa nanompo anao ka tsy mbola nandika ny didinao na dia indray mandeha aza; nefa tsy mbola nomenao na dia zanak' osy iray aza aho mba hifaliako amin' ny sakaizako;"
30. But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
30. Et quand ton fils est arrivé, celui qui a mangé ton bien avec des prostituées, c`est pour lui que tu as tué le veau gras!
30. Fa raha vao tonga kosa io zanakao io, izay efa nandany ny fanananao tamin' ny vehivavy janga, dia namono ho azy ny zanak' omby nafahy ianao.
31. And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
31. "Mon enfant, lui dit le père, tu es toujours avec moi, et tout ce que j`ai est à toi;"
31. Ary hoy rainy taminy: Anaka, ianao eto amiko mandrakariva, ary anao avokoa izay rehetra ananako.
32. It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
32. mais il fallait bien s`égayer et se réjouir, parce que ton frère que voici était mort et qu`il est revenu à la vie, parce qu`il était perdu et qu`il est retrouvé.
32. "Fa mety ny mifaly sy miravoravo; fa ity rahalahinao ity efa maty, fa velona indray, ary efa very fa hita indray."
