Crossing the Jordan
1. And Joshua rose early in the morning; and they removed from Shittim, and came to Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they passed over.
1. "Josué, s`étant levé de bon matin, partit de Sittim avec tous les enfants d`Israël. Ils arrivèrent au Jourdain; et là, ils passèrent la nuit, avant de le traverser."
1. "Dia nifoha maraina koa i Josoa; ary ny olona dia niala tany Sitima ka nankany Jordana, dia Josoa sy ny Zanak' Isiraely rehetra, ary nitoetra teo izy ireo mialoha ny nitany."
2. And it came to pass after three days, that the officers went through the host;
2. Au bout de trois jours, les officiers parcoururent le camp,

3. And they commanded the people, saying, When ye see the ark of the covenant of the LORD your God, and the priests the Levites bearing it, then ye shall remove from your place, and go after it.
3. et donnèrent cet ordre au peuple: Lorsque vous verrez l`arche de l`alliance de l`Éternel, votre Dieu, portée par les sacrificateurs, les Lévites, vous partirez du lieu où vous êtes, et vous vous mettrez en marche après elle.

4. Yet there shall be a space between you and it, about two thousand cubits by measure: come not near unto it, that ye may know the way by which ye must go: for ye have not passed this way heretofore.
4. Mais il y aura entre vous et elle une distance d`environ deux mille coudées: n`en approchez pas. Elle vous montrera le chemin que vous devez suivre, car vous n`avez point encore passé par ce chemin.

5. And Joshua said unto the people, Sanctify yourselves: for to morrow the LORD will do wonders among you.
5. Josué dit au peuple: Sanctifiez-vous, car demain l`Éternel fera des prodiges au milieu de vous.
5. "Ary hoy Josoa tamin' ny olona: Manamasìna ny tenanareo; fa rahampitso dia hanao fahagagana eo aminareo Jehovah."
6. And Joshua spake unto the priests, saying, Take up the ark of the covenant, and pass over before the people. And they took up the ark of the covenant, and went before the people.
6. Et Josué dit aux sacrificateurs: Portez l`arche de l`alliance, et passez devant le peuple. Ils portèrent l`arche de l`alliance, et ils marchèrent devant le peuple.
6. Ary niteny tamin' ny mpisorona Josoa ka nanao hoe: Ento ny fiaran' ny fanekena, ka mità eo anoloan' ny olona. Dia nitondra ny fiaran' ny fanekena izy ka nandeha teo anoloan' ny olona.
7. And the LORD said unto Joshua, This day will I begin to magnify thee in the sight of all Israel, that they may know that, as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee.
7. L`Éternel dit à Josué: Aujourd`hui, je commencerai à t`élever aux yeux de tout Israël, afin qu`ils sachent que je serai avec toi comme j`ai été avec Moïse.
7. Ary hoy Jehovah tamin' i Josoa: Anio no hanombohako hanandratra anao eo imason' ny Isiraely rehetra, hahafantarany fa tahaka ny nombako an' i Mosesy no hombako anao koa.
8. And thou shalt command the priests that bear the ark of the covenant, saying, When ye are come to the brink of the water of Jordan, ye shall stand still in Jordan.
8. Tu donneras cet ordre aux sacrificateurs qui portent l`arche de l`alliance: Lorsque vous arriverez au bord des eaux du Jourdain, vous vous arrêterez dans le Jourdain.

9. And Joshua said unto the children of Israel, Come hither, and hear the words of the LORD your God.
9. Josué dit aux enfants d`Israël: Approchez, et écoutez les paroles de l`Éternel, votre Dieu.
9. Ary Josoa nanao tamin' ny Zanak' Isiraely hoe: Mankanesa aty, ka mihainoa ny tenin' i Jehovah Andriamanitrareo.
10. And Joshua said, Hereby ye shall know that the living God is among you, and that he will without fail drive out from before you the Canaanites, and the Hittites, and the Hivites, and the Perizzites, and the Girgashites, and the Amorites, and the Jebusites.
10. Josué dit: A ceci vous reconnaîtrez que le Dieu vivant est au milieu de vous, et qu`il chassera devant vous les Cananéens, les Héthiens, les Héviens, les Phéréziens, les Guirgasiens, les Amoréens et les Jébusiens:
10. Dia hoy Josoa: Izao no hahafantaranareo fa eo aminareo Andriamanitra velona, ka horoahiny eo alohanareo tokoa ny Kananita sy ny Hetita sy ny Hivita sy ny Perizita sy ny Girgasita sy ny Amorita ary ny Jebosita:
11. Behold, the ark of the covenant of the LORD of all the earth passeth over before you into Jordan.
11. voici, l`arche de l`alliance du Seigneur de toute la terre va passer devant vous dans le Jourdain.
11. "Indro, ny fiaran' ny faneken' ny Tompon' ny tany rehetra no mandroso eo alohanareo ho eo Jordana;"
12. Now therefore take you twelve men out of the tribes of Israel, out of every tribe a man.
12. Maintenant, prenez douze hommes parmi les tribus d`Israël, un homme de chaque tribu.
12. Koa ankehitriny mangalà lehilahy roa ambin' ny folo amin' ny fokon' ny Isiraely ho anareo, dia lehilahy iray avy amin' ny isam-poko.
13. And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles of the feet of the priests that bear the ark of the LORD, the LORD of all the earth, shall rest in the waters of Jordan, that the waters of Jordan shall be cut off from the waters that come down from above; and they shall stand upon an heap.
13. Et dès que les sacrificateurs qui portent l`arche de l`Éternel, le Seigneur de toute la terre, poseront la plante des pieds dans les eaux du Jourdain, les eaux du Jourdain seront coupées, les eaux qui descendent d`en haut, et elles s`arrêteront en un monceau.
13. Ary izao no hiseho, raha vao mijanona eo amin' ny rano Jordana ny tongotry ny mpisorona izay mitondra ny fiaran' ny faneken' i Jehovah, Tompon' ny tany rehetra, dia ho tapaka ny rano Jordana dia ny rano izay midina avy any ambony ka hijanona ho toy ny antontan-javatra.
14. And it came to pass, when the people removed from their tents, to pass over Jordan, and the priests bearing the ark of the covenant before the people;
14. Le peuple sortit de ses tentes pour passer le Jourdain, et les sacrificateurs qui portaient l`arche de l`alliance marchèrent devant le peuple.
14. Ary izao no niseho, raha niala tamin' ny lainy hita an' i Jordana ny olona, ary ny mpisorona nitondra ny fiaran' ny fanekena eo alohan' ny olona,
15. And as they that bare the ark were come unto Jordan, and the feet of the priests that bare the ark were dipped in the brim of the water, (for Jordan overfloweth all his banks all the time of harvest,)
15. Quand les sacrificateurs qui portaient l`arche furent arrivés au Jourdain, et que leurs pieds se furent mouillés au bord de l`eau, -le Jourdain regorge par-dessus toutes ses rives tout le temps de la moisson,
15. Ka tonga teo Jordana izay nitondra ny fiara ary naroboky ny mpisorona izay nitondra ny fiara tamin' ny sisin-drano ny tongony (fa tondraka mihoatra ny morony rehetra Jordana mandritra ny fararano),
16. That the waters which came down from above stood and rose up upon an heap very far from the city Adam, that is beside Zaretan: and those that came down toward the sea of the plain, even the salt sea, failed, and were cut off: and the people passed over right against Jericho.
16. "les eaux qui descendent d`en haut s`arrêtèrent, et s`élevèrent en un monceau, à une très grande distance, près de la ville d`Adam, qui est à côté de Tsarthan; et celles qui descendaient vers la mer de la plaine, la mer Salée, furent complètement coupées. Le peuple passa vis-à-vis de Jéricho."
16. "Dia nijanona ny rano izay nidina avy tany ambony ka tonga toy ny antontan-javatra tery lavitra ery, dia tery amin' ny tanàna Adama, izay eo anilan' i Zaretana; eny, tapaka tokoa ny rano izay nidina ho any amin' ny ranomasin' ny tany lemaka, dia ny Ranomasin-tsira; ary ny olona dia nita mahitsy tandrifin' i Jeriko."
17. And the priests that bare the ark of the covenant of the LORD stood firm on dry ground in the midst of Jordan, and all the Israelites passed over on dry ground, until all the people were passed clean over Jordan.
17. Les sacrificateurs qui portaient l`arche de l`alliance de l`Éternel s`arrêtèrent de pied ferme sur le sec, au milieu du Jourdain, pendant que tout Israël passait à sec, jusqu`à ce que toute la nation eût achevé de passer le Jourdain.
