Division of the Land West of the Jordan
1. And these are the countries which the children of Israel inherited in the land of Canaan, which Eleazar the priest, and Joshua the son of Nun, and the heads of the fathers of the tribes of the children of Israel, distributed for inheritance to them.
1. Voici ce que les enfants d`Israël reçurent en héritage dans le pays de Canaan, ce que partagèrent entre eux le sacrificateur Éléazar, Josué, fils de Nun, et les chefs de famille des tribus des enfants d`Israël.

2. By lot was their inheritance, as the LORD commanded by the hand of Moses, for the nine tribes, and for the half tribe.

3. For Moses had given the inheritance of two tribes and an half tribe on the other side Jordan: but unto the Levites he gave none inheritance among them.
3. "Car Moïse avait donné un héritage aux deux tribus et à la demi-tribu de l`autre côté du Jourdain; mais il n`avait point donné aux Lévites d`héritage parmi eux."
3. "Fa efa nomen' i Mosesy lova tany an-dafin' i Jordana ny foko roa sy sasany; fa ny Levita tsy mba nomeny lova teo aminy."
4. For the children of Joseph were two tribes, Manasseh and Ephraim: therefore they gave no part unto the Levites in the land, save cities to dwell in, with their suburbs for their cattle and for their substance.
4. "Les fils de Joseph formaient deux tribus, Manassé et Éphraïm; et l`on ne donna point de part aux Lévites dans le pays, si ce n`est des villes pour habitation, et les banlieues pour leurs troupeaux et pour leurs biens."
4. "Fa foko roa ny taranak' i Josefa, dia Manase sy Efraima; koa tsy mba nomena anjara teo amin' ny tany ny Levita, afa-tsy tanàna honenana sy ny tany manodidina azy ho an' ny biby fiompiny sy ny fananany."
5. As the LORD commanded Moses, so the children of Israel did, and they divided the land.
5. Les enfants d`Israël se conformèrent aux ordres que l`Éternel avait donnés à Moïse, et ils partagèrent le pays.
5. Araka izay efa nandidian' i Jehovah an' i Mosesy no nataon' ny Zanak' Isiraely, ka dia nizara ny tany izy.
Hebron Given to Caleb
6. Then the children of Judah came unto Joshua in Gilgal: and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, Thou knowest the thing that the LORD said unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Kadeshbarnea.
6. "Les fils de Juda s`approchèrent de Josué, à Guilgal; et Caleb, fils de Jephunné, le Kenizien, lui dit: Tu sais ce que l`Éternel a déclaré à Moïse, homme de Dieu, au sujet de moi et au sujet de toi, à Kadès Barnéa."
6. "Dia nankany amin' i Josoa tany Gilgala ny taranak' i Joda; ary Kaleba, zanak' i Jefone, Kenizita, nanao taminy hoe: Fantatrao ny teny izay nolazain' i Jehovah tamin' i Mosesy, lehilahin' Andriamanitra, ny amiko sy ianao tany Kadesi-barnea."
7. Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadeshbarnea to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as it was in mine heart.
7. J`étais âgé de quarante ans lorsque Moïse, serviteur de l`Éternel, m`envoya de Kadès Barnéa pour explorer le pays, et je lui fis un rapport avec droiture de coeur.
7. "Efapolo taona ny andro niainako fony aho nirahin' i mosesy, mpanompon' i Jehovah, niala tany Kadesi-barnea hisafo ny tany; dia niverina aho nitondra teny taminy araka izay tao am-poko."
8. Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God.
8. Mes frères qui étaient montés avec moi découragèrent le peuple, mais moi je suivis pleinement la voie de l`Éternel, mon Dieu.
8. "Kanefa ireo rahalahiko izay niara-niakatra tamiko dia nanaketraka ny fon' ny olona; fa izaho kosa dia nanaraka tanteraka an' i Jehovah Andriamanitro."
9. And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children's for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the LORD my God.
9. Et ce jour-là Moïse jura, en disant: Le pays que ton pied a foulé sera ton héritage à perpétuité, pour toi et pour tes enfants, parce que tu as pleinement suivi la voie de l`Éternel, mon Dieu.
9. Dia nianiana tamin' izany andro izany i Mosesy ka nanao hoe: Ny tany izay nodiavin' ny tongotrao dia ho lovanao sy ny taranakao tokoa mandrakizay, satria ianao dia nanaraka tanteraka an' i Jehovah Andriamanitro.
10. And now, behold, the LORD hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the LORD spake this word unto Moses, while the children of Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I am this day fourscore and five years old.
10. "Maintenant voici, l`Éternel m`a fait vivre, comme il l`a dit. Il y a quarante-cinq ans que l`Éternel parlait ainsi à Moïse, lorsqu`Israël marchait dans le désert; et maintenant voici, je suis âgé aujourd`hui de quatre-vingt-cinq ans."
10. "Ary ankehitriny, indro, efa namelona ahy Jehovah araka izay nolazainy hatramin' ny dimy amby efapolo taona lasa izay, dia hatramin' ny nilazan' i Jehovah izany teny izany tamin' i Mosesy no ho mankaty, raha mbola nandehandeha tany an' efitra ny Zanak' Isiraely; ary ankehitriny, indro, efa dimy amby valopolo taona aho izao."
11. As yet I am as strong this day as I was in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength was then, even so is my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in.
11. "Je suis encore vigoureux comme au jour où Moïse m`envoya; j`ai autant de force que j`en avais alors, soit pour combattre, soit pour sortir et pour entrer."
11. Nefa mbola matanjaka ihany aho izao tahaka ny tamin' ny andro nanirahan' i Mosesy ahy: tahaka ny tanjako tamin' izany ihany no mbola tanjako ankehitriny, mba hiady, na hivoaka, na hiditra.
12. Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims were there, and that the cities were great and fenced: if so be the LORD will be with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said.
12. "Donne-moi donc cette montagne dont l`Éternel a parlé dans ce temps-là; car tu as appris alors qu`il s`y trouve des Anakim, et qu`il y a des villes grandes et fortifiées. L`Éternel sera peut-être avec moi, et je les chasserai, comme l`Éternel a dit."
12. "Koa ankehitriny, omeo ahy ity tendrombohitra ity, izay nolazain' i Jehovah tamin' izany andro izany; fa efa renao tamin' izany andro izany fa nitoetra teo ny Anakita, sady lehibe no mimanda ny tanàna; raha homba ahy Jehovah, dia haharoaka azy aho, araka izay nolazain' i Jehovah."
13. And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance.
13. Josué bénit Caleb, fils de Jephunné, et il lui donna Hébron pour héritage.
13. Dia nitso-drano azy Josoa ka nanome an' i Hebrona ho lovan' i Kaleba, zanak' i Jefone.
14. Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel.
14. C`est ainsi que Caleb, fils de Jephunné, le Kenizien, a eu jusqu`à ce jour Hébron pour héritage, parce qu`il avait pleinement suivi la voie de l`Éternel, le Dieu d`Israël.
14. Izany no nahatongavan' i Hebrona ho lovan' i Kaleba, zanak' i Jefone, Kenizita, mandraka androany, satria nanaraka tanteraka an' i Jehovah Andriamanitry ny Isiraely izy.
15. And the name of Hebron before was Kirjatharba; which Arba was a great man among the Anakims. And the land had rest from war.
15. Hébron s`appelait autrefois Kirjath Arba: Arba avait été l`homme le plus grand parmi les Anakim. Le pays fut dès lors en repos et sans guerre.
15. "Ary Kiriata-arba no anaran' i Hebrona taloha; ilay lehilahy vaventy tamin' ny Anakita izany Arba izany. Ary nitsahatra tamin' ny ady ny tany."
