Northern Kings Defeated
1. And it came to pass, when Jabin king of Hazor had heard those things, that he sent to Jobab king of Madon, and to the king of Shimron, and to the king of Achshaph,
1. Jabin, roi de Hatsor, ayant appris ces choses, envoya des messagers à Jobab, roi de Madon, au roi de Schimron, au roi d`Acschaph,

2. And to the kings that were on the north of the mountains, and of the plains south of Chinneroth, and in the valley, and in the borders of Dor on the west,
2. aux rois qui étaient au nord dans la montagne, dans la plaine au midi de Kinnéreth, dans la vallée, et sur les hauteurs de Dor à l`occident,

3. And to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and to the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the mountains, and to the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpeh.
3. aux Cananéens de l`orient et de l`occident, aux Amoréens, aux Héthiens, aux Phéréziens, aux Jébusiens dans la montagne, et aux Héviens au pied de l`Hermon dans le pays de Mitspa.
3. Dia tamin' ny Kananita any atsinanana sy any andrefana, ary tamin' ny Amorita sy ny Hetita sy ny Perizita ary ny Jebosita tany an-tendrombohitra, ary tamin' ny Hivita tany am-bodin' i Hermona, tany amin' ny tany Mizpa.
4. And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that is upon the sea shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many.
4. Ils sortirent, eux et toutes leurs armées avec eux, formant un peuple innombrable comme le sable qui est sur le bord de la mer, et ayant des chevaux et des chars en très grande quantité.
4. Dia nivoaka izy ireo sy ny miaramilany rehetra teo aminy, dia olona marobe toy ny fasika eny amoron-dranomasina ny hamaroany, ary ny soavaliny sy ny kalesiny dia maro indrindra.
5. And when all these kings were met together, they came and pitched together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.
5. Tous ces rois fixèrent un lieu de réunion, et vinrent camper ensemble près des eaux de Mérom, pour combattre contre Israël.

6. And the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: for to morrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.
6. L`Éternel dit à Josué: Ne les crains point, car demain, à ce moment-ci, je les livrerai tous frappés devant Israël. Tu couperas les jarrets à leurs chevaux, et tu brûleras au feu leurs chars.
6. "Dia hoy Jehovah tamin' i Josoa: aza matahotra azy; fa rahampitso toy izao, Izaho dia hanolotra azy rehetra ho faty eo anatrehan' ny Isiraely; traingoy ny soavaliny, ary dory amin' ny afo ny kalesiny."
7. So Joshua came, and all the people of war with him, against them by the waters of Merom suddenly; and they fell upon them.
7. Josué, avec tous ses gens de guerre, arriva subitement sur eux près des eaux de Mérom, et ils se précipitèrent au milieu d`eux.
7. Dia nandeha i Josoa sy ny vahoaka rehetra mpanafika teo aminy ka tonga tampoka taminy teo amoron' ny rano Meroma, dia namely azy ireo.
8. And the LORD delivered them into the hand of Israel, who smote them, and chased them unto great Zidon, and unto Misrephothmaim, and unto the valley of Mizpeh eastward; and they smote them, until they left them none remaining.
8. "L`Éternel les livra entre les mains d`Israël; ils les battirent et les poursuivirent jusqu`à Sidon la grande, jusqu`à Misrephoth Maïm, et jusqu`à la vallée de Mitspa vers l`orient; ils les battirent, sans en laisser échapper aucun."
8. "Ary Jehovah nanolotra azy teo an-tanan' ny Isiraely, izay namely azy ka nanenjika azy hatrany Sidona lehibe sy hatrany Misrefota-maima ary hatramin' ny lohasaha Mizpa atsinanana; dia namely azy izy mandra-paha-tsy nisy niangana na dia iray akory aza."
9. And Joshua did unto them as the LORD bade him: he houghed their horses, and burnt their chariots with fire.
9. "Josué les traita comme l`Éternel lui avait dit; il coupa les jarrets à leurs chevaux, et il brûla leurs chars au feu."
9. Ary Josoa dia nanao taminy araka izay efa nandidian' i Jehovah azy: ny soavalin' ireny dia notraingoiny, ary ny kalesiny dia nodorany tamin' ny afo.
10. And Joshua at that time turned back, and took Hazor, and smote the king thereof with the sword: for Hazor beforetime was the head of all those kingdoms.
10. A son retour, et dans le même temps, Josué prit Hatsor, et frappa son roi avec l`épée: Hatsor était autrefois la principale ville de tous ces royaumes.

11. And they smote all the souls that were therein with the edge of the sword, utterly destroying them: there was not any left to breathe: and he burnt Hazor with fire.
11. On frappa du tranchant de l`épée et l`on dévoua par interdit tous ceux qui s`y trouvaient, il ne resta rien de ce qui respirait, et l`on mit le feu à Hatsor.
11. "Ary nasiany tamin' ny sabatra ny olona rehetra tao ka naringany tanteraka; tsy nisy zava-miaina sisa na dia iray akory aza; ary Hazora nodorany tamin' ny afo."
12. And all the cities of those kings, and all the kings of them, did Joshua take, and smote them with the edge of the sword, and he utterly destroyed them, as Moses the servant of the LORD commanded.
12. Josué prit aussi toutes les villes de ces rois et tous leurs rois, et il les frappa du tranchant de l`épée, et il les dévoua par interdit, comme l`avait ordonné Moïse, serviteur de l`Éternel.
12. Ary ny tanàna rehetra izay an' ireo mpanjaka ireo sy ny mpanjakany rehetra dia azon' i Josoa ka nasiany tamin' ny lelan-tsabatra sy naringany tanteraka araka izay efa nandidian' i Mosesy, mpanompon' i Jehovah.
13. But as for the cities that stood still in their strength, Israel burned none of them, save Hazor only; that did Joshua burn.
13. Mais Israël ne brûla aucune des villes situées sur des collines, à l`exception seulement de Hatsor, qui fut brûlée par Josué.
13. Fa ny tanàna rehetra izay nitoetra mafy dia tsy mba nisy nodoran' ny Isiraely, afa-tsy Hazora ihany, izay nodoran' i Josoa.
14. And all the spoil of these cities, and the cattle, the children of Israel took for a prey unto themselves; but every man they smote with the edge of the sword, until they had destroyed them, neither left they any to breathe.
14. "Les enfants d`Israël gardèrent pour eux tout le butin de ces villes et le bétail; mais ils frappèrent du tranchant de l`épée tous les hommes, jusqu`à ce qu`ils les eussent détruits, sans rien laisser de ce qui respirait."
14. "Ary ny fananana rehetra tao amin' ireo tanàna ireo sy ny biby fiompy dia nalain' ny Zanak' Isiraely ho babony; fa ny olona rehetra nasiany tamin' ny lelan-tsabatra mandra-pandringany azy ary tsy nasiany sisa niangana."
15. As the LORD commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses.
15. "Josué exécuta les ordres de l`Éternel à Moïse, son serviteur, et de Moïse à Josué; il ne négligea rien de tout ce que l`Éternel avait ordonné à Moïse."
15. "Araka izay efa nandidian' i Jehovah an' i Mosesy mpanompony no nandidian' i Mosesy an' i Josoa; ka dia izany no nataon' i Josoa: tsy nisy namelany izay rehetra efa nandidian' i Jehovah an' i Mosesy."
16. So Joshua took all that land, the hills, and all the south country, and all the land of Goshen, and the valley, and the plain, and the mountain of Israel, and the valley of the same;
16. C`est ainsi que Josué s`empara de tout ce pays, de la montagne, de tout le midi, de tout le pays de Gosen, de la vallée, de la plaine, de la montagne d`Israël et de ses vallées,
16. "Dia lasan' i Josoa avokoa izany tany rehetra izany, ny havoana sy ny tany atsimo rehetra sy ny tany Gosena rehetra sy ny lohasaha sy ny tany lemaka sy ny tendrombohitr' Isiraely ary ny lohasaha miaraka aminy;"
17. Even from the mount Halak, that goeth up to Seir, even unto Baalgad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon: and all their kings he took, and smote them, and slew them.
17. depuis la montagne nue qui s`élève vers Séir jusqu`à Baal Gad, dans la vallée du Liban, au pied de la montagne d`Hermon. Il prit tous leurs rois, les frappa et les fit mourir.
17. "Hatramin' ny tendrombohitra Halaka izay fiakarana ho any Seïra, ka hatrany Bala-gada eo amin' ny lohasahan' i Libanona ambodin' ny tendrombohitra Hermona; ary nosamboriny ny mpanjakany rehetra, dia nasiany ka novonoiny."
18. Joshua made war a long time with all those kings.
18. La guerre que soutint Josué contre tous ces rois fut de longue durée.
18. Ela no niadian' i Josoa tamin' ireo mpanjaka ireo.
19. There was not a city that made peace with the children of Israel, save the Hivites the inhabitants of Gibeon: all other they took in battle.
19. "Il n`y eut aucune ville qui fit la paix avec les enfants d`Israël, excepté Gabaon, habitée par les Héviens; ils les prirent toutes en combattant."
19. Tsy nisy tanàna izay nanao fihavanana tamin' ny Zanak' Isiraely, afa-tsy ny Hivita izay nonina tany Gibeona ihany: fa azony tamin' ny ady avokoa izy rehetra.
20. For it was of the LORD to harden their hearts, that they should come against Israel in battle, that he might destroy them utterly, and that they might have no favour, but that he might destroy them, as the LORD commanded Moses.
20. Car l`Éternel permit que ces peuples s`obstinassent à faire la guerre contre Israël, afin qu`Israël les dévouât par interdit, sans qu`il y eût pour eux de miséricorde, et qu`il les détruisît, comme l`Éternel l`avait ordonné à Moïse.
20. Fa avy tamin' i Jehovah no nanamafisan' ireo ny fony hiady amin' ny Isiraely, mba handringanany azy tanteraka, ka tsy nisy niantrana fa naringany ireny, araka izay nandidian' i Jehovah an' i Mosesy.
21. And at that time came Joshua, and cut off the Anakims from the mountains, from Hebron, from Debir, from Anab, and from all the mountains of Judah, and from all the mountains of Israel: Joshua destroyed them utterly with their cities.
21. "Dans le même temps, Josué se mit en marche, et il extermina les Anakim de la montagne d`Hébron, de Debir, d`Anab, de toute la montagne de Juda et de toute la montagne d`Israël; Josué les dévoua par interdit, avec leurs villes."
21. "Dia nandeha tamin' izany fotoana izany Josoa ka namongotra ny Anakita tany an-tendrombohitra, dia tany Hebrona sy Debira sy Anaba, ary tany amin' ny tendrombohitr' i Joda rehetra sy tany amin' ny tendrombohitr' Isiraely rehetra; naringan' i Josoa tanteraka izy sy ny tanànany."
22. There was none of the Anakims left in the land of the children of Israel: only in Gaza, in Gath, and in Ashdod, there remained.
22. "Il ne resta point d`Anakim dans le pays des enfants d`Israël; il n`en resta qu`à Gaza, à Gath et à Asdod."
22. "Tsy nisy sisa tany amin' ny tanin' ny Zanak' Isiraely ny Anakita; fa tany Gaza sy Gata ary Asdoda ihany no mbola nisy sisa."
23. So Joshua took the whole land, according to all that the LORD said unto Moses; and Joshua gave it for an inheritance unto Israel according to their divisions by their tribes. And the land rested from war.
23. Josué s`empara donc de tout le pays, selon tout ce que l`Éternel avait dit à Moïse. Et Josué le donna en héritage à Israël, à chacun sa portion, d`après leurs tribus. Puis, le pays fut en repos et sans guerre.
23. "Dia lasan' i Josoa avokoa ny tany rehetra, araka izay rehetra nolazain' i Jehovah tamin' i Mosesy; ary nomen' i Josoa ho lovan' ny Isiraely izany, araka ny fizaran' ny fokony. Dia nitsahatra tamin' ny ady ny tany."
