2. Suffer me a little, and I will shew thee that I have yet to speak on God's behalf.

2. Mahareta kely amiko, dia hambarako aminao, fa mbola misy teny holazaiko hanamarina an' Andriamanitra.
3. I will fetch my knowledge from afar, and will ascribe righteousness to my Maker.
3. Je prendrai mes raisons de haut, Et je prouverai la justice de mon créateur.
3. Halaiko avy lavitra ny fahalalako ka hanamarina ny Mpanao ahy aho.
4. For truly my words shall not be false: he that is perfect in knowledge is with thee.
4. Sois-en sûr, mes discours ne sont pas des mensonges, Mes sentiments devant toi sont sincères.
4. "Fa tsy ho lainga tsy akory ny teniko; lehilahy tanteraka amin' ny fahalalana no eto aminao."
5. Behold, God is mighty, and despiseth not any: he is mighty in strength and wisdom.
5. "Dieu est puissant, mais il ne rejette personne; Il est puissant par la force de son intelligence."
5. "Indro, mahery Andriamanitra, ary tsy mba mamingavinga na iza na iza; lehibe amin' ny hery sy ny fahendrena Izy."
6. He preserveth not the life of the wicked: but giveth right to the poor.
6. Il ne laisse pas vivre le méchant, Et il fait droit aux malheureux.
6. "Tsy mitsimbina ny ain' ny ratsy fanahy Izy; fa manome rariny ny mahantra."
7. He withdraweth not his eyes from the righteous: but with kings are they on the throne; yea, he doth establish them for ever, and they are exalted.
7. Il ne détourne pas les yeux de dessus les justes, Il les place sur le trône avec les rois, Il les y fait asseoir pour toujours, afin qu`ils soient élevés.
7. "Tsy mampiala ny masony amin' ny marina Izy; miaraka amin' ny mpanjaka eo amin' ny sezafiandrianany Izy; eny, ampitoeriny ho mandrakizay ireo, ka dia tafasandratra."
8. And if they be bound in fetters, and be holden in cords of affliction;
8. Viennent-ils à tomber dans les chaînes, Sont-ils pris dans les liens de l`adversité,
8. Ary raha voafatotra amin' ny gadra izy sy voafehy amin' ny tadin' ny fahoriana,
9. Then he sheweth them their work, and their transgressions that they have exceeded.
9. "Il leur dénonce leurs oeuvres, Leurs transgressions, leur orgueil;"

10. He openeth also their ear to discipline, and commandeth that they return from iniquity.
10. Il les avertit pour leur instruction, Il les exhorte à se détourner de l`iniquité.

11. If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.
11. S`ils écoutent et se soumettent, Ils achèvent leurs jours dans le bonheur, Leurs années dans la joie.

12. But if they obey not, they shall perish by the sword, and they shall die without knowledge.
12. S`ils n`écoutent pas, ils périssent par le glaive, Ils expirent dans leur aveuglement.
12. Fa raha tsy mankatò kosa izy, dia ho ringan' ny sabatra, ary ho faty tsy amim-pahalalana.
13. But the hypocrites in heart heap up wrath: they cry not when he bindeth them.
13. "Les impies se livrent à la colère, Ils ne crient pas à Dieu quand il les enchaîne;"
13. "Fa ny mpihatsaravelatsihy am-po dia mirakitra fahatezerana; tsy mitaraina izy na dia afatony aza."
14. They die in youth, and their life is among the unclean.
14. Ils perdent la vie dans leur jeunesse, Ils meurent comme les débauchés.
14. Maty amin' ny fahatanorany izy, ary ny fiainany dia eo amin' ny tsy madio.
15. He delivereth the poor in his affliction, and openeth their ears in oppression.
15. Mais Dieu sauve le malheureux dans sa misère, Et c`est par la souffrance qu`il l`avertit.
15. Manafaka ny mahantra ao amin' ny fahoriany Izy, ary manokatra ny sofiny ao amin' ny fampahoriana.
16. Even so would he have removed thee out of the strait into a broad place, where there is no straitness; and that which should be set on thy table should be full of fatness.
16. Il te retirera aussi de la détresse, Pour te mettre au large, en pleine liberté, Et ta table sera chargée de mets succulents.

17. But thou hast fulfilled the judgment of the wicked: judgment and justice take hold on thee.
17. Mais si tu défends ta cause comme un impie, Le châtiment est inséparable de ta cause.
17. Fa nefainao ny fitsarana ny ratsy fanahy, dia hihazona anao ny fitsarana sy ny fahamarinana.
18. Because there is wrath, beware lest he take thee away with his stroke: then a great ransom cannot deliver thee.
18. Que l`irritation ne t`entraîne pas à la moquerie, Et que la grandeur de la rançon ne te fasse pas dévier!
18. Satria misy ny fahatezerana, tandremo fandrao hampiala anao ny famelezany, ka tsy hahafaka anao ny avotra lehibe.
19. Will he esteem thy riches? no, not gold, nor all the forces of strength.
19. Tes cris suffiraient-ils pour te sortir d`angoisse, Et même toutes les forces que tu pourrais déployer?
19. Hihevitra ny harenao va Izy? Tsia, tsy hihevitra na dia ny volamenanao sy ny herin' ny tanjakao rehetra aza Izy.
20. Desire not the night, when people are cut off in their place.
20. Ne soupire pas après la nuit, Qui enlève les peuples de leur place.
20. Aza irinao ny hiavian' ny alina, izay ampialana ny olona amin' ny fitoerany.
21. Take heed, regard not iniquity: for this hast thou chosen rather than affliction.
21. Garde-toi de te livrer au mal, Car la souffrance t`y dispose.
21. Tandremo, aza mankasitraka heloka, saingy naleonao nisafidy izany toy izay ny fahoriana.
22. Behold, God exalteth by his power: who teacheth like him?
22. "Dieu est grand par sa puissance; Qui saurait enseigner comme lui?"
22. "Indro, Andriamanitra dia misandratra amin' ny heriny; iza no mampianatra tahaka Azy?"
23. Who hath enjoined him his way? or who can say, Thou hast wrought iniquity?
23. Qui lui prescrit ses voies? Qui ose dire: Tu fais mal?
23. Iza no efa nandidy Azy ny amin' izay lalan-kalehany? Ary iza no efa nilaza taminy hoe: Efa nanao heloka Ianao?
24. Remember that thou magnify his work, which men behold.
24. Souviens-toi d`exalter ses oeuvres, Que célèbrent tous les hommes.
24. Tsarovy ny hankalaza ny asany izay hitan' ny olona.
25. Every man may see it; man may behold it afar off.
25. Tout homme les contemple, Chacun les voit de loin.
25. "Hahita izany ny olona rehetra; hojeren' ny rehetra eny lavitra eny izany."
26. Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.
26. Dieu est grand, mais sa grandeur nous échappe, Le nombre de ses années est impénétrable.
26. Indro, lehibe Andriamanitra, ka tsy fantatsika Izy, ary tsy hita isa ny taonany.
27. For he maketh small the drops of water: they pour down rain according to the vapour thereof:
27. "Il attire à lui les gouttes d`eau, Il les réduit en vapeur et forme la pluie;"
27. Fa mampisavoana ny rano Izy, dia milatsaka ho ranonorana aman-javona izany,
28. Which the clouds do drop and distil upon man abundantly.
28. Les nuages la laissent couler, Ils la répandent sur la foule des hommes.
28. Izay aidin' ny rahona ka alatsany be dia be amin' ny olona.
29. Also can any understand the spreadings of the clouds, or the noise of his tabernacle?
29. Et qui comprendra le déchirement de la nuée, Le fracas de sa tente?
29. Ary koa, iza moa no mahalala ny amin' ny fivelatry ny rahona sy ny kotrokorana ao an-dainy?
30. Behold, he spreadeth his light upon it, and covereth the bottom of the sea.
30. Voici, il étend autour de lui sa lumière, Et il se cache jusque dans les profondeurs de la mer.
30. Indro, mamelatra ny fahazavany eo amboniny Izy, ary manarona ny fanambanin' ny ranomasina.
31. For by them judgeth he the people; he giveth meat in abundance.
31. Par ces moyens il juge les peuples, Et il donne la nourriture avec abondance.
31. Fa ireny zavatra ireny no itsarany ny firenena sady anomezany hanina betsaka.
32. With clouds he covereth the light; and commandeth it not to shine by the cloud that cometh betwixt.
32. Il prend la lumière dans sa main, Il la dirige sur ses adversaires.
32. Ny rahona no hanaronany ny fahazavana ary mibaiko izany Izy mba tsy hamiratra amin' ny alalan' ny rahona izay manelanelana.
33. The noise thereof sheweth concerning it, the cattle also concerning the vapour.
33. "Il s`annonce par un grondement; Les troupeaux pressentent son approche."
