3. My words shall be of the uprightness of my heart: and my lips shall utter knowledge clearly.
3. C`est avec droiture de coeur que je vais parler, C`est la vérité pure qu`exprimeront mes lèvres:

4. The spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty hath given me life.
4. L`esprit de Dieu m`a créé, Et le souffle du Tout Puissant m`anime.

5. If thou canst answer me, set thy words in order before me, stand up.
5. Si tu le peux, réponds-moi, Défends ta cause, tiens-toi prêt!

6. Behold, I am according to thy wish in God's stead: I also am formed out of the clay.
6. "Devant Dieu je suis ton semblable, J`ai été comme toi formé de la boue;"

7. Behold, my terror shall not make thee afraid, neither shall my hand be heavy upon thee.
7. Ainsi mes terreurs ne te troubleront pas, Et mon poids ne saurait t`accabler.
7. Indro, ny fampitahorako tsy dia hampahatahotra anao, ary ny tanako dia tsy havesatra aminao.
8. Surely thou hast spoken in mine hearing, and I have heard the voice of thy words, saying,
8. Mais tu as dit à mes oreilles, Et j`ai entendu le son de tes paroles:
8. Efa niteny teo an-tsofiko tokoa ianao, ary efa reko ny feon' ny teninao hoe:
9. I am clean without transgression, I am innocent; neither is there iniquity in me.
9. Je suis pur, je suis sans péché, Je suis net, il n`y a point en moi d`iniquité.
9. Madio tsy manam-pahadisoana aho, ary tsy manan-tsiny aho, tsy misy heloka ato amiko.
10. Behold, he findeth occasions against me, he counteth me for his enemy,
10. "Et Dieu trouve contre moi des motifs de haine, Il me traite comme son ennemi;"
10. "He! mitady izay handrafiany ahy Andriamanitra, ary ataony fahavalony aho;"
11. He putteth my feet in the stocks, he marketh all my paths.
11. Il met mes pieds dans les ceps, Il surveille tous mes mouvements.

12. Behold, in this thou art not just: I will answer thee, that God is greater than man.
12. Je te répondrai qu`en cela tu n`as pas raison, Car Dieu est plus grand que l`homme.

13. Why dost thou strive against him? for he giveth not account of any of his matters.
13. Veux-tu donc disputer avec lui, Parce qu`il ne rend aucun compte de ses actes?
13. Koa nahoana no mifandahatra aminy ianao noho ny tsy ampisehoany izay antony amin' ny ataony?
14. For God speaketh once, yea twice, yet man perceiveth it not.
14. Dieu parle cependant, tantôt d`une manière, Tantôt d`une autre, et l`on n`y prend point garde.
14. Kanefa miteny indray mandeha Andriamanitra, eny, indroa aza, nefa tsy tandreman' ny olona izany.
15. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falleth upon men, in slumberings upon the bed;
15. Il parle par des songes, par des visions nocturnes, Quand les hommes sont livrés à un profond sommeil, Quand ils sont endormis sur leur couche.

16. Then he openeth the ears of men, and sealeth their instruction,
16. Alors il leur donne des avertissements Et met le sceau à ses instructions,
16. Dia manokatra ny sofin' ny olona Izy ka manisy tombo-kase ny fananarany azy,
17. That he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man.
17. Afin de détourner l`homme du mal Et de le préserver de l`orgueil,
17. Mba hampiala ny olona amin' ny fanaony sy hampifady azy ny fireharehana.
18. He keepeth back his soul from the pit, and his life from perishing by the sword.
18. Afin de garantir son âme de la fosse Et sa vie des coups du glaive.
18. Miaro ny fanahiny tsy ho any an-davaka Izy, ary ny ainy mba tsy ho voan' ny sabatra.
19. He is chastened also with pain upon his bed, and the multitude of his bones with strong pain:
19. Par la douleur aussi l`homme est repris sur sa couche, Quand une lutte continue vient agiter ses os.
19. "Anarina amin' ny fanaintainana eo am-pandriany koa izy sy amin' ny fikotrankotran' ny taolany lalandava ;"
20. So that his life abhorreth bread, and his soul dainty meat.
20. "Alors il prend en dégoût le pain, Même les aliments les plus exquis;"
20. Ary ny ainy marikorikon-kanina, eny, na dia ny hanim-py aza tsy tian' ny fanahiny.
21. His flesh is consumed away, that it cannot be seen; and his bones that were not seen stick out.
21. "Sa chair se consume et disparaît, Ses os qu`on ne voyait pas sont mis à nu;"
21. "Mihena ny nofony ka tsy hita, ary mitrakitraky ny taolany izay tsy hita teo;"
22. Yea, his soul draweth near unto the grave, and his life to the destroyers.
22. Son âme s`approche de la fosse, Et sa vie des messagers de la mort.
22. Dia manakaiky ny fasana ny fanahiny, ary ny ainy manatona ny mpandringana.
23. If there be a messenger with him, an interpreter, one among a thousand, to shew unto man his uprightness:
23. Mais s`il se trouve pour lui un ange intercesseur, Un d`entre les mille Qui annoncent à l`homme la voie qu`il doit suivre,
23. Raha misy Iraka na Mpanalalana ho azy, Iray amin' ny arivo, hanoro izay mahitsy tokony halehan' ny olona,
24. Then he is gracious unto him, and saith, Deliver him from going down to the pit: I have found a ransom.
24. "Dieu a compassion de lui et dit à l`ange: Délivre-le, afin qu`il ne descende pas dans la fosse; J`ai trouvé une rançon!"
24. "Dia hamindra fo aminy izy, ka hanao hoe: Afaho izy mba tsy hidina any an-davaka; fa efa nahita avotra Aho."
25. His flesh shall be fresher than a child's: he shall return to the days of his youth:
25. Et sa chair a plus de fraîcheur qu`au premier âge, Il revient aux jours de sa jeunesse.
25. "Dia ho tsara noho ny an' ny zaza ny nofony; hody ho toy ny tamin' ny andron' ny fahatanorany izy;"
26. He shall pray unto God, and he will be favourable unto him: and he shall see his face with joy: for he will render unto man his righteousness.
26. "Il adresse à Dieu sa prière; et Dieu lui est propice, Lui laisse voir sa face avec joie, Et lui rend son innocence."
26. Hivavaka amin' Andriamanitra izy ka hankasitrahany, ary hahita ny tavany amin' ny hafaliana, fa hamaly ny olona araka ny fahamarinany Izy.
27. He looketh upon men, and if any say, I have sinned, and perverted that which was right, and it profited me not;
27. "Il chante devant les hommes et dit: J`ai péché, j`ai violé la justice, Et je n`ai pas été puni comme je le méritais;"
27. "Mijery ny olona Izy, ka raha misy manao hoe: Efa nanota aho, fa nanao ny rariny ho heloka, ary tsy nahasoa ahy izany;"
28. He will deliver his soul from going into the pit, and his life shall see the light.
28. Dieu a délivré mon âme pour qu`elle n`entrât pas dans la fosse, Et ma vie s`épanouit à la lumière!
28. Dia hanafaka ny fanahiny tsy hivarina any an-davaka Izy, ary ny fiainany hahita ny mazava.
29. Lo, all these things worketh God oftentimes with man,
29. Voilà tout ce que Dieu fait, Deux fois, trois fois, avec l`homme,
29. Indro, izany rehetra izany dia ataon' Andriamanitra matetika amin' ny olona,
30. To bring back his soul from the pit, to be enlightened with the light of the living.
30. Pour ramener son âme de la fosse, Pour l`éclairer de la lumière des vivants.
30. Mba hamerina ny fanahiny tsy ho any an-davaka, mba hihazavany amin' ny fahazavan' aina.
31. Mark well, O Job, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I will speak.
31. Sois attentif, Job, écoute-moi! Tais-toi, et je parlerai!
31. "Tandremo tsara, ry Joba, ka mihainoa ahy; mangìna kely, fa mbola hiteny aho."
32. If thou hast anything to say, answer me: speak, for I desire to justify thee.
32. Si tu as quelque chose à dire, réponds-moi! Parle, car je voudrais te donner raison.
32. "Raha manan-javatra holazaina ianao, dia valio aho; mitenena, fa ta-hanamarina anao aho;"
33. If not, hearken unto me: hold thy peace, and I shall teach thee wisdom.
33. Si tu n`as rien à dire, écoute-moi! Tais-toi, et je t`enseignerai la sagesse.
33. Fa raha tsy izany, dia mihainoa ahy: Mangìna tsara, fa hampianariko fahendrena ianao.
