Job
1. Then Job answered and said,

1. Dia namaly Joba ka nanao hoe:
2. Even to day is my complaint bitter: my stroke is heavier than my groaning.
2. Maintenant encore ma plainte est une révolte, Mais la souffrance étouffe mes soupirs.
2. "Ankehitriny dia mbola mangidy ny fitarainako; ny famelezana ahy dia mavesatra noho ny fisentoako."
3. Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!
3. Oh! si je savais où le trouver, Si je pouvais arriver jusqu`à son trône,
3. Enga anie ka ho fantatro izay hahitako Azy, mba hahatongavako na dia any amin' ny fitoerany aza.
4. I would order my cause before him, and fill my mouth with arguments.
4. Je plaiderais ma cause devant lui, Je remplirais ma bouche d`arguments,
4. "Dia handahatra ny teniko eo anatrehany aho, ka hofenoiko ny teny alahatro ny vavako;"
5. I would know the words which he would answer me, and understand what he would say unto me.
5. Je connaîtrais ce qu`il peut avoir à répondre, Je verrais ce qu`il peut avoir à me dire.
5. Ary hahalala izay teny havaliny ahy aho sy hamantatra izay holazainy amiko.
6. Will he plead against me with his great power? No; but he would put strength in me.
6. Emploierait-il toute sa force à me combattre? Ne daignerait-il pas au moins m`écouter?
6. Amin' ny heriny lehibe va no hifandaharany amiko? Tsia, fa hanatanjaka ahy izy.
7. There the righteous might dispute with him; so should I be delivered for ever from my judge.
7. Ce serait un homme droit qui plaiderait avec lui, Et je serais pour toujours absous par mon juge.
7. "Ny olo-marina no hifandahatra aminy ao; ary dia ho afaka mandrakizay amin' ny mpitsara ahy aho."
8. Behold, I go forward, but he is not there; and backward, but I cannot perceive him:
8. "Mais, si je vais à l`orient, il n`y est pas; Si je vais à l`occident, je ne le trouve pas;"
8. Indro, mandroso aho, fa tsy ao Izy, ary mihemotra aho, fa tsy hitako Izy.
9. On the left hand, where he doth work, but I cannot behold him: he hideth himself on the right hand, that I cannot see him:
9. "Est-il occupé au nord, je ne puis le voir; Se cache-t-il au midi, je ne puis le découvrir."
9. "Mankeo ankavia amin' izay iasany aho, fa tsy tazako izy; miafina ao amin' ny ankavanana Izy ka tsy hitako;"
10. But he knoweth the way that I take: when he hath tried me, I shall come forth as gold.
10. "Il sait néanmoins quelle voie j`ai suivie; Et, s`il m`éprouvait, je sortirais pur comme l`or."
10. "Fa mahalala ny lalana alehako izy; rehefa nozahany toetra aho, dia hivoaka tahaka ny volamena."
11. My foot hath held his steps, his way have I kept, and not declined.
11. "Mon pied s`est attaché à ses pas; J`ai gardé sa voie, et je ne m`en suis point détourné."
11. Ny tongotro nifikitra tamin' ny diany, ny lalany no notazoniko, ka tsy nivily aho.
12. Neither have I gone back from the commandment of his lips; I have esteemed the words of his mouth more than my necessary food.
12. "Je n`ai pas abandonné les commandements de ses lèvres; J`ai fait plier ma volonté aux paroles de sa bouche."
12. Ny didin' ny molony koa tsy mba nialako, ny tenin' ny vavany no notandremako mihoatra noho ny hanina ilaiko.
13. But he is in one mind, and who can turn him? and what his soul desireth, even that he doeth.
13. "Mais sa résolution est arrêtée; qui s`y opposera? Ce que son âme désire, il l`exécute."
13. Nefa tsy miova saina Izy, ka iza no mahasakana Azy? Fa na inona na inona irin' ny fanahiny dia ataony.
14. For he performeth the thing that is appointed for me: and many such things are with him.
14. Il accomplira donc ses desseins à mon égard, Et il en concevra bien d`autres encore.
14. "Fa manatanteraka izay voatendry ho ahy Izy; ary zavatra maro toy izany no ao aminy;"
15. Therefore am I troubled at his presence: when I consider, I am afraid of him.
15. "Voilà pourquoi sa présence m`épouvante; Quand j`y pense, j`ai peur de lui."
15. "Koa izany no mampitebiteby ahy eo anatrehany; raha misaintsaina izany aho, dia matahotra Azy."
16. For God maketh my heart soft, and the Almighty troubleth me:
16. Dieu a brisé mon courage, Le Tout Puissant m`a rempli d`effroi.
16. Fa Andriamanitra no mandreraka ny foko ary ny Tsitoha no mampitebiteby ahy.
17. Because I was not cut off before the darkness, neither hath he covered the darkness from my face.
17. Car ce ne sont pas les ténèbres qui m`anéantissent, Ce n`est pas l`obscurité dont je suis couvert.
17. Satria tsy nalaina mialohan' ny fahamaizinana aho, ary tsy nanafina ny haizim-pito tamin' ny tavako Izy.
