Zophar
1. Then answered Zophar the Naamathite, and said,

1. Dia namaly Zofara Namatita ka nanao hoe:
2. Should not the multitude of words be answered? and should a man full of talk be justified?
2. Cette multitude de paroles ne trouvera-t-elle point de réponse, Et suffira-t-il d`être un discoureur pour avoir raison?
2. Moa tsy hovaliana va ny teny be toy izany? Ary moa hohamarinina va ny olona be teny?
3. Should thy lies make men hold their peace? and when thou mockest, shall no man make thee ashamed?
3. Tes vains propos feront-ils taire les gens? Te moqueras-tu, sans que personne te confonde?
3. Ny lainganao va no hampangina ny olona? Ary raha maniratsira ianao, moa tsy hisy olona hampahamenatra anao va?
4. For thou hast said, My doctrine is pure, and I am clean in thine eyes.
4. Tu dis: Ma manière de voir est juste, Et je suis pur à tes yeux.
4. Fa niteny ianao hoe: Madio ny foto-pampianarako, ary tsy manan-tsiny eo imasonao aho.
5. But oh that God would speak, and open his lips against thee;
5. Oh! si Dieu voulait parler, S`il ouvrait les lèvres pour te répondre,
5. Enga anie ka hiteny Andriamanitra dia hiloa-bava hamaly anao izy!
6. And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth.
6. Et s`il te révélait les secrets de sa sagesse, De son immense sagesse, Tu verrais alors qu`il ne te traite pas selon ton iniquité.
6. Dia hasehony aminao ny zava-miafin' ny fahendrena, fa roa sosona izany, koa fantaro fa tsy dia novalian' Andriamanitra araka ny helokao ianao.
7. Canst thou by searching find out God? canst thou find out the Almighty unto perfection?
7. Prétends-tu sonder les pensées de Dieu, Parvenir à la connaissance parfaite du Tout Puissant?
7. Moa va ny fikatsahanao no ahitanao an' Andriamanitra? Ary tanteraka va ny fikatsahanao ny Tsitoha?
8. It is as high as heaven; what canst thou do? deeper than hell; what canst thou know?
8. Elle est aussi haute que les cieux: que feras-tu? Plus profonde que le séjour des morts: que sauras-tu?
8. Avo tahaka ny lanitra izany ka inona no hainao atao? Lalina noho ny helo izany ka inona no fantatrao?
9. The measure thereof is longer than the earth, and broader than the sea.
9. La mesure en est plus longue que la terre, Elle est plus large que la mer.
9. Lava noho ny tany ny refiny ary midadasika noho ny ranomasina.
10. If he cut off, and shut up, or gather together, then who can hinder him?
10. S`il passe, s`il saisit, S`il traîne à son tribunal, qui s`y opposera?
10. Raha manaisotra izy ka manidy, na manangona, dia iza no mahasakana Azy?
11. For he knoweth vain men: he seeth wickedness also; will he not then consider it?
11. Car il connaît les vicieux, Il voit facilement les coupables.
11. Fa mahafantatra ny olom-poana Izy, hitany koa ny faharatsiana, moa va tsy handinika izany Izy?
12. For vain man would be wise, though man be born like a wild ass's colt.
12. L`homme, au contraire, a l`intelligence d`un fou, Il est né comme le petit d`un âne sauvage.
12. Fa ho hendry ny olom-poana, na dia nateraka ho toy ny zana-boriky dia aza ny olombelona.
13. If thou prepare thine heart, and stretch out thine hands toward him;
13. Pour toi, dirige ton coeur vers Dieu, Étends vers lui tes mains,
13. Raha ampiomaninao ny fonao ka atantinao aminy ny tananao,
14. If iniquity be in thine hand, put it far away, and let not wickedness dwell in thy tabernacles.
14. Éloigne-toi de l`iniquité, Et ne laisse pas habiter l`injustice sous ta tente.
14. "Raha misy heloka eo an-tananao, dia ario lavitra izany, ary aza avela hisy ratsy hitoetra ao an-dainao;"
15. For then shalt thou lift up thy face without spot; yea, thou shalt be stedfast, and shalt not fear:
15. "Alors tu lèveras ton front sans tache, Tu seras ferme et sans crainte;"
15. "Dia hanandratra ny tavanao tsy misy tsiny ianao; eny hijoro tsara ka tsy hatahotra;"
16. Because thou shalt forget thy misery, and remember it as waters that pass away:
16. Tu oublieras tes souffrances, Tu t`en souviendras comme des eaux écoulées.
16. Fa ho hadinonao ny fahorianao: Toy ny rano efa nandalo no hahatsiarovanao azy.
17. And thine age shall be clearer than the noonday: thou shalt shine forth, thou shalt be as the morning.
17. Tes jours auront plus d`éclat que le soleil à son midi, Tes ténèbres seront comme la lumière du matin,
17. "Ary hazava lavitra noho ny mitataovovonana ny andronao; hihamamiratra ianao ka ho tonga tahaka ny maraina."
18. And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety.
18. "Tu seras plein de confiance, et ton attente ne sera plus vaine; Tu regarderas autour de toi, et tu reposeras en sûreté."
18. "Hatoky ianao, satria misy fanantenana; eny, hihady manodidina ianao ka handry tsy amin' ahiahy."
19. Also thou shalt lie down, and none shall make thee afraid; yea, many shall make suit unto thee.
19. Tu te coucheras sans que personne ne trouble, Et plusieurs caresseront ton visage.
19. "Dia ho tafandry ianao, ka tsy hisy hampahatahotra anao; eny maro no hila sitraka aminao."
20. But the eyes of the wicked shall fail, and they shall not escape, and their hope shall be as the giving up of the ghost.
20. "Mais les yeux des méchants seront consumés; Pour eux point de refuge; La mort, voilà leur espérance!"
20. Fa ho pahina ny mason' ny ratsy fanahy, ary tsy handositra izy, fa ny fanantenany dia toy ny fialan' aina.
