1. And as Jesus passed by, he saw a man which was blind from his birth.
1. Ary raha nandalo Jesosy, dia nahita lehilahy jamba hatry ny fony vao teraka.
2. And his disciples asked him, saying, Master, who did sin, this man, or his parents, that he was born blind?
2. Ary ny mpianany nanontany Azy hoe: Raby ô, iza moa no nanota, io lehilahy io va, sa ny ray aman-dreniny, no dia teraka jamba izy?
3. Jesus answered, Neither hath this man sinned, nor his parents: but that the works of God should be made manifest in him.
3. "Jésus répondit: Ce n`est pas que lui ou ses parents aient péché; mais c`est afin que les oeuvres de Dieu soient manifestées en lui."
3. Jesosy namaly hoe: Tsy io lehilahy io no nanota, na ny ray aman-dreniny, fa ny hanehoana ny asan' Andriamanitra eo aminy.
4. I must work the works of him that sent me, while it is day: the night cometh, when no man can work.
4. "Il faut que je fasse, tandis qu`il est jour, les oeuvres de celui qui m`a envoyé; la nuit vient, où personne ne peut travailler."
4. "Tsy maintsy manao ny asan' Izay naniraka Ahy Aho, raha mbola antoandro; avy ny alina, ka tsy mahazo miasa ny olona."
5. As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.
5. Raha mbola eto amin' izao tontolo izao Aho, dia fahazavan' izao tontolo izao.
6. When he had thus spoken, he spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and he anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
6. Rehefa nilaza izany Izy, dia nandrora tamin' ny tany ka nanao feta tamin' ny rora, dia nahosony ny mason' ilay jamba,
7. And said unto him, Go, wash in the pool of Siloam, (which is by interpretation, Sent.) He went his way therefore, and washed, and came seeing.
7. Ary hoy Izy taminy: Andeha, misasà any amin' ny farihin' i siloama (izay atao hoe, raha adika, Nirahina). Dia lasa izy ka nisasa, ary niverina nahiratra.
8. The neighbours therefore, and they which before had seen him that he was blind, said, Is not this he that sat and begged?
8. Koa ny mpifanolo-bodirindrina taminy sy izay nahita azy fa mpangataka izy taloha, dia nanao hoe: Tsy ity va ilay nipetraka nangataka?
9. Some said, This is he: others said, He is like him: but he said, I am he.
9. "Hoy ny sasany: Izy ity; fa hoy ny sasany: tahaka azy ihany; ary hoy kosa izy: Izaho no izy."
10. Therefore said they unto him, How were thine eyes opened?
10. Ils lui dirent donc: Comment tes yeux ont-ils été ouverts?
10. Koa hoy ny olona taminy: Ahoana no nahiratan' ny masonao?
11. He answered and said, A man that is called Jesus made clay, and anointed mine eyes, and said unto me, Go to the pool of Siloam, and wash: and I went and washed, and I received sight.
11. "Ary namaly izy ka nanao hoe: Ilay Lehilahy atao hoe Jesosy no nanao feta, dia nanosotra ny masoko ka nanao tamiko hoe: Mankanesa any amin' ny farihin' i Siloama, ka misasà; koa nandeha aho, dia nisasa, ka dia nahiratra."
12. Then said they unto him, Where is he? He said, I know not.
12. Ils lui dirent: Où est cet homme? Il répondit: Je ne sais.
12. Ary hoy ny olona taminy: Aiza moa izany Lehilahy izany? Hoy ralehilahy: Tsy fantatro.
13. They brought to the Pharisees him that aforetime was blind.
13. Ary ilay jamba taloha dia nentiny tany amin' ny Fariseo.
14. And it was the sabbath day when Jesus made the clay, and opened his eyes.
14. Ary tamin' ny andro sabata no nanaovan' i Jesosy ny feta sy nampahiratany ny mason-dralehilahy.
15. Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he had received his sight. He said unto them, He put clay upon mine eyes, and I washed, and do see.
15. Ary ny Fariseo koa nanontany azy ny fomba nahiratan' ny masony. Dia hoy izy taminy: Nasiany feta ny masoko, dia nisasa aho, ka nahita.
16. Therefore said some of the Pharisees, This man is not of God, because he keepeth not the sabbath day. Others said, How can a man that is a sinner do such miracles? And there was a division among them.
16. "Koa hoy ny Fariseo sasany; Tsy avy amin' Andriamanitra izany Lehilahy izany satria tsy mitandrina ny andro sabata Izy. Hoy ny sasany: Hataon' ny lehilahy mpanota ahoana no fahay manao fahagagana toy izany? Dia nisy fisarahana teo aminy."
17. They say unto the blind man again, What sayest thou of him, that he hath opened thine eyes? He said, He is a prophet.
17. Ary hoy indray izy tamin' ilay jamba: Ahoana no ilazanao Azy, fa nampahiratra ny masonao Izy? Dia hoy izy: Mpaminany Izy.
18. But the Jews did not believe concerning him, that he had been blind, and received his sight, until they called the parents of him that had received his sight.
18. Fa tsy nino azy ho efa jamba ka nahiratra ny Jiosy, ambara-piantsony ny ray aman-drenin' ilay nahiratra,
19. And they asked them, saying, Is this your son, who ye say was born blind? how then doth he now see?
19. Ka nanontaniany hoe: Zanakareo moa ity, izay lazainareo fa teraka jamba? Koa nanao ahoana àry no nahiratany izao?
20. His parents answered them and said, We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind:
20. "Ses parents répondirent: Nous savons que c`est notre fils, et qu`il est né aveugle;"
20. "Namaly ny ray aman-dreniny ka nanao hoe: Fantatray fa zanakay ity sady teraka jamba;"
21. But by what means he now seeth, we know not; or who hath opened his eyes, we know not: he is of age; ask him: he shall speak for himself.
21. "Fa tsy fantatray izay fomba nahiratany izao; ary tsy fantatray izay nampahiratra ny masony; efa lehibe izy, anontanio izy, aoka izy no hilaza ny amin' ny tenany."
22. These words spake his parents, because they feared the Jews: for the Jews had agreed already, that if any man did confess that he was Christ, he should be put out of the synagogue.
22. "Ses parents dirent cela parce qu`ils craignaient les Juifs; car les Juifs étaient déjà convenus que, si quelqu`un reconnaissait Jésus pour le Christ, il serait exclu de la synagogue."
22. "Izany teny izany no nolazain' ny ray aman-dreniny, satria natahotra ny Jiosy izy ireo; fa efa nifanaiky rahateo ny Jiosy fa raha misy manaiky Azy ho Kristy, dia horoahina hiala amin' ny synagoga."
23. Therefore said his parents, He is of age; ask him.
23. C`est pourquoi ses parents dirent: Il a de l`âge, interrogez-le lui-même.
23. Izany no nilazan' ny ray aman-dreniny hoe: Efa lehibe izy, koa izy no anontanio.
24. Then again called they the man that was blind, and said unto him, Give God the praise: we know that this man is a sinner.
24. "Les pharisiens appelèrent une seconde fois l`homme qui avait été aveugle, et ils lui dirent: Donne gloire à Dieu; nous savons que cet homme est un pécheur."
24. "Dia niantso ilay jamba teo aloha indray ireo ka nanao taminy hoe: Omeo voninahitra Andriamanitra; izahay mahalala fa mpanota izany Lehilahy izany."
25. He answered and said, Whether he be a sinner or no, I know not: one thing I know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.
25. "Il répondit: S`il est un pécheur, je ne sais; je sais une chose, c`est que j`étais aveugle et que maintenant je vois."
25. "Fa izy namaly ka nanao hoe: Tsy fantatro na mpanota Izy, na tsia; zavatra iray loha ihany no fantatro: jamba aho teo aloha, fa mahiratra aho izao."
26. Then said they to him again, What did he to thee? how opened he thine eyes?
26. Ils lui dirent: Que t`a-t-il fait? Comment t`a-t-il ouvert les yeux?
26. Dia hoy indray izy ireo taminy: Inona no nataony taminao? Nanao ahoana ange no nampahiratany ny masonao?
27. He answered them, I have told you already, and ye did not hear: wherefore would ye hear it again? will ye also be his disciples?
27. "Il leur répondit: Je vous l`ai déjà dit, et vous n`avez pas écouté; pourquoi voulez-vous l`entendre encore? Voulez-vous aussi devenir ses disciples?"
27. "Dia namaly azy ireo izy hoe: Efa voalazako taminareo rahateo, fa tsy nihaino ianareo; nahoana no te-hihaino indray ianareo? Moa te-ho mpianany koa va ianareo?"
28. Then they reviled him, and said, Thou art his disciple; but we are Moses' disciples.
28. "Ils l`injurièrent et dirent: C`est toi qui es son disciple; nous, nous sommes disciples de Moïse."
28. "Dia nanevateva azy izy ireo ka nanao hoe: Ialahy no mpianany; fa izahay mpianatr' i Mosesy."
29. We know that God spake unto Moses: as for this fellow, we know not from whence he is.
29. "Nous savons que Dieu a parlé à Moïse; mais celui-ci, nous ne savons d`où il est."
29. "Izahay mahalala fa Mosesy no nitenenan' Andriamanitra; fa ny amin' izany Lehilahy izany, dia tsy fantatray izay niaviany."
30. The man answered and said unto them, Why herein is a marvellous thing, that ye know not from whence he is, and yet he hath opened mine eyes.
30. "Cet homme leur répondit: Il est étonnant que vous ne sachiez d`où il est; et cependant il m`a ouvert les yeux."
30. Ralehilahy namaly azy ireo hoe: Mba mahagaga tokoa lahy izany! fa tsy fantatrareo izay niaviany, nefa nampahiratra ny masoko Izy.
31. Now we know that God heareth not sinners: but if any man be a worshipper of God, and doeth his will, him he heareth.
31. "Nous savons que Dieu n`exauce point les pécheurs; mais, si quelqu`un l`honore et fait sa volonté, c`est celui là qu`il l`exauce."
31. "Fantatsika fa Andriamanitra tsy mihaino ny mpanota; fa izay mivavaka amin' Andriamanitra sy manao ny sitrapony no henoiny."
32. Since the world began was it not heard that any man opened the eyes of one that was born blind.
32. Hatramin' ny niandohan' izao tontolo izao dia tsy mbola re fa nisy nampahiratra ny mason' izay teraka jamba.
33. If this man were not of God, he could do nothing.
33. Raha tsy avy amin' Andriamanitra izany Lehilahy izany, dia tsy mahefa na inona na inona Izy.
34. They answered and said unto him, Thou wast altogether born in sins, and dost thou teach us? And they cast him out.
34. Ary namaly ireo ka nanao taminy hoe: Tena teraka tamin' ny ota ialahy, ka ialahy indray va no mampianatra anay? Dia noroahiny izy.
35. Jesus heard that they had cast him out; and when he had found him, he said unto him, Dost thou believe on the Son of God?
35. "Jésus apprit qu`ils l`avaient chassé; et, l`ayant rencontré, il lui dit: Crois-tu au Fils de Dieu?"
35. "Nandre Jesosy fa efa noroahiny ralehilahy; ary rehefa nahita azy Izy dia hoy Izy taminy: Mino ny Zanak' Andriamanitra va ianao?"
36. He answered and said, Who is he, Lord, that I might believe on him?
36. Ralehilahy namaly ka nanao hoe: Iza moa no Izy, Tompoko, mba hinoako Azy?
37. And Jesus said unto him, Thou hast both seen him, and it is he that talketh with thee.
37. Tu l`as vu, lui dit Jésus, et celui qui te parle, c`est lui.
37. Ary hoy Jesosy taminy: Efa nahita Azy ianao, sady Izay miresaka aminao no Izy.
38. And he said, Lord, I believe. And he worshipped him.
38. Et il dit: Je crois, Seigneur. Et il se prosterna devant lui.
38. Ary hoy izy: Tompoko, mino aho. Dia niankohoka teo anatrehany izy.
39. And Jesus said, For judgment I am come into this world, that they which see not might see; and that they which see might be made blind.
39. Ary hoy Jesosy: Ho fitsarana no nahatongavako amin' izao tontolo izao, mba hahiratra ny tsy mahiratra, ary mba ho tonga jamba kosa ny mahiratra.
40. And some of the Pharisees which were with him heard these words, and said unto him, Are we blind also?
40. Ary ny Fariseo sasany izay teo aminy, nony nandre izany teny izany, dia nanao taminy hoe: Izahay koa va mba jamba?
41. Jesus said unto them, If ye were blind, ye should have no sin: but now ye say, We see; therefore your sin remaineth.
41. "Hoy Jesosy taminy: Raha jamba ianareo, dia tsy ho nanan-keloka; nefa hoy ianareo ankehitriny: Mahiratra izahay; dia tsy afaka ny helokareo."
