The Triumphal Entry
1. And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,

2. Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a colt with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.
2. "en leur disant: Allez au village qui est devant vous; vous trouverez aussitôt une ânesse attachée, et un ânon avec elle; détachez-les, et amenez-les-moi."
2. "Ka nanao taminy hoe: Mankanesa amin' iroa vohitra tandrifinareo iroa, ary miaraka amin' izay dia hahita boriky mifatotra sy ny zanany eo aminy ianareo; vahao izy, dia ento ety amiko."
3. And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.
3. Si, quelqu`un vous dit quelque chose, vous répondrez: Le Seigneur en a besoin. Et à l`instant il les laissera aller.

4. All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,
4. Or, ceci arriva afin que s`accomplît ce qui avait été annoncé par le prophète:

5. Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a colt the foal of an ass.
5. Dites à la fille de Sion: Voici, ton roi vient à toi, Plein de douceur, et monté sur un âne, Sur un ânon, le petit d`une ânesse.
5. “Lazao amin' ny zanakavavin' i Ziona: Indro, ny Mpanjakanao avy ho anao, malemy fanahy sady mitaingina boriky, dia zanaky ny boriky miasa”.
6. And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,
6. Les disciples allèrent, et firent ce que Jésus leur avait ordonné.

7. And brought the ass, and the colt, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.
7. Ils amenèrent l`ânesse et l`ânon, mirent sur eux leurs vêtements, et le firent asseoir dessus.

8. And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.
8. "La plupart des gens de la foule étendirent leurs vêtements sur le chemin; d`autres coupèrent des branches d`arbres, et en jonchèrent la route."
8. "Ary namelatra ny lambany teny an-dalana ny vahoaka marobe; ny sasany nanapaka rantsan-kazo, ka nahahany teny an-dalana koa izany."
9. And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.
9. Ceux qui précédaient et ceux qui suivaient Jésus criaient: Hosanna au Fils de David! Béni soit celui qui vient au nom du Seigneur! Hosanna dans les lieux très hauts!
9. Ary ny vahoaka izay nialoha Azy sy izay nanaraka dia niantso ka nanao hoe: Hosana ho an' ny Zanak' i Davida! Isaorana anie Izay avy amin' ny anaran' ny Tompo! Hosana any amin' ny avo indrindra.
10. And when he was come into Jerusalem, all the city was moved, saying, Who is this?
10. Lorsqu`il entra dans Jérusalem, toute la ville fut émue, et l`on disait: Qui est celui-ci?

11. And the multitude said, This is Jesus the prophet of Nazareth of Galilee.
11. La foule répondait: C`est Jésus, le prophète, de Nazareth en Galilée.
11. Ary ny vahoaka nilaza hoe: Izao no Jesosy Ilay mpaminany avy any Nazareta any Galilia.
Jesus at the Temple
12. And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves,
12. "Jésus entra dans le temple de Dieu. Il chassa tous ceux qui vendaient et qui achetaient dans le temple; il renversa les tables des changeurs, et les sièges des vendeurs de pigeons."
12. "Ary niditra tao amin' ny tempolin' Andriamanitra Jesosy, dia nandroaka izay rehetra nivarotra sy nividy teo amin' ny tempoly ka nanjera ny latabatry ny mpanakalo vola sy ny fipetrahan' ny mpivarotra voromailala;"
13. And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.
13. Et il leur dit: Il est écrit: Ma maison sera appelée une maison de prière. Mais vous, vous en faites une caverne de voleurs.

14. And the blind and the lame came to him in the temple; and he healed them.
14. Des aveugles et des boiteux s`approchèrent de lui dans le temple. Et il les guérit.
14. Ary ny jamba sy ny mandringa nanatona Azy teo amin' ny tempoly, dia nahasitrana azy Izy.
15. And when the chief priests and scribes saw the wonderful things that he did, and the children crying in the temple, and saying, Hosanna to the son of David; they were sore displeased,
15. Mais les principaux sacrificateurs et les scribes furent indignés, à la vue des choses merveilleuses qu`il avait faites, et des enfants qui criaient dans le temple: Hosanna au Fils de David!
15. Fa nony hitan' ny lohan' ny mpisorona sy ny mpanoradalàna ny zavatra mahagaga izay nataony sy ny ankizy madinika miantso eo amin' ny tempoly ka manao hoe: Hosana ho an' ny Zanak' i Davida! dia sosotra mafy izy ireo,
16. And said unto him, Hearest thou what these say? And Jesus saith unto them, Yea; have ye never read, Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings thou hast perfected praise?
16. Ils lui dirent: Entends-tu ce qu`ils disent? Oui, leur répondit Jésus. N`avez-vous jamais lu ces paroles: Tu as tiré des louanges de la bouche des enfants et de ceux qui sont à la mamelle?
16. "Ka nanao taminy hoe: Renao va izay lazain' ireo? Dia hoy Jesosy taminy: Eny; tsy mbola novakianareo va ny teny manao hoe: Avy amin' ny vavan' ny zaza madinika sy ny zaza minono no nanatanterahanao fiderana?"
17. And he left them, and went out of the city into Bethany; and he lodged there.
17. Et, les ayant laissés, il sortit de la ville pour aller à Béthanie, où il passa la nuit.
17. "Dia nandao azy Izy ka niala tao an-tanàna hankany Betania; ary dia nandry tao Izy."
The Fig Tree Withers
18. Now in the morning as he returned into the city, he hungered.
18. Le matin, en retournant à la ville, il eut faim.
18. Ary nony niverina maraina hankany an-tanàna Izy, dia noana.
19. And when he saw a fig tree in the way, he came to it, and found nothing thereon, but leaves only, and said unto it, Let no fruit grow on thee henceforward for ever. And presently the fig tree withered away.
19. "Voyant un figuier sur le chemin, il s`en approcha; mais il n`y trouva que des feuilles, et il lui dit: Que jamais fruit ne naisse de toi! Et à l`instant le figuier sécha."
19. "Ary nony nahita hazo aviavimbazaha anankiray teo amoron-dalana Izy, dia nankeo aminy, kanjo tsy nahita na inona na inona teo aminy, afa-tsy ravina ihany; dia hoy Izy taminy: Aza misy voa avy aminao intsony mandrakizay. Dia maina vetivety foana ilay hazo aviavimbazaha."
20. And when the disciples saw it, they marvelled, saying, How soon is the fig tree withered away!
20. Les disciples, qui virent cela, furent étonnés, et dirent: Comment ce figuier est-il devenu sec en un instant?
20. Ary nony hitan' ny mpianatra izany, dia gaga izy ireo ka nanao hoe: Ahoana re no dia nahamaina vetivety io hazo aviavimbazaha io!
21. Jesus answered and said unto them, Verily I say unto you, If ye have faith, and doubt not, ye shall not only do this which is done to the fig tree, but also if ye shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; it shall be done.
21. Jésus leur répondit: Je vous le dis en vérité, si vous aviez de la foi et que vous ne doutiez point, non seulement vous feriez ce qui a été fait à ce figuier, mais quand vous diriez à cette montagne: Ote-toi de là et jette-toi dans la mer, cela se ferait.
21. Ary namaly Jesosy ka nanao taminy hoe: Lazaiko aminareo marina tokoa: Raha manam-pinoana ianareo ka tsy miahanahana, dia tsy izao natao tamin' ny hazo aviavimbazaha izao ihany no ho vitanareo, fa raha hiteny amin' ity tendrombohitra ity aza ianareo ka hanao hoe: Mifindrà ianao, ka mianjerà any an-dranomasina, dia ho tonga izany.
22. And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.
22. Tout ce que vous demanderez avec foi par la prière, vous le recevrez.

The Authority of Jesus Questioned
23. And when he was come into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people came unto him as he was teaching, and said, By what authority doest thou these things? and who gave thee this authority?
23. Jésus se rendit dans le temple, et, pendant qu`il enseignait, les principaux sacrificateurs et les anciens du peuple vinrent lui dire: Par quelle autorité fais-tu ces choses, et qui t`a donné cette autorité?

24. And Jesus answered and said unto them, I also will ask you one thing, which if ye tell me, I in like wise will tell you by what authority I do these things.
24. "Jésus leur répondit: Je vous adresserai aussi une question; et, si vous m`y répondez, je vous dirai par quelle autorité je fais ces choses."
24. Ary namaly Jesosy ka nanao taminy hoe: Izaho kosa hanontany anareo zavatra iray loha, ary raha hovalianareo izany, Izaho kosa dia hilaza aminareo izay fahefana anaovako izao:
25. The baptism of John, whence was it? from heaven, or of men? And they reasoned with themselves, saying, If we shall say, From heaven; he will say unto us, Why did ye not then believe him?
25. "Le baptême de Jean, d`où venait-il? du ciel, ou des hommes? Mais ils raisonnèrent ainsi entre eux; Si nous répondons: Du ciel, il nous dira: Pourquoi donc n`avez-vous pas cru en lui?"
25. Ny batisan' i Jaona, avy taiza moa izany? Avy tany an-danitra va, sa avy tamin' ny olona? Ary izy ireo niara-nisaina ka nanao hoe: Raha holazaintsika hoe mantsy: Avy tany an-danitra, dia hovaliany hoe isika: Ka nahoana no tsy nino azy ianareo?
26. But if we shall say, Of men; we fear the people; for all hold John as a prophet.
26. Et si nous répondons: Des hommes, nous avons à craindre la foule, car tous tiennent Jean pour un prophète.

27. And they answered Jesus, and said, We cannot tell. And he said unto them, Neither tell I you by what authority I do these things.
27. Alors ils répondirent à Jésus: Nous ne savons. Et il leur dit à son tour: Moi non plus, je ne vous dirai pas par quelle autorité je fais ces choses.
27. Dia namaly an' i Jesosy izy ka nanao hoe: Tsy afaka hilaza izahay. Dia hoy Izy taminy: Izaho kosa tsy hilaza aminareo izay fahefana anaovako izao zavatra izao.
The Parable of the Two Sons
28. But what think ye? A certain man had two sons; and he came to the first, and said, Son, go work to day in my vineyard.
28. "Que vous en semble? Un homme avait deux fils; et, s`adressant au premier, il dit: Mon enfant, va travailler aujourd`hui dans ma vigne."
28. "Fa ahoana kosa no hevitrareo? Nisy lehilahy nanana zanaka roa lahy; dia nankeo amin' ny lahimatoa izy ka nanao hoe: Anaka, andeha miasa any amin' ny tanimboaloboko anio."
29. He answered and said, I will not: but afterward he repented, and went.
29. Il répondit: Je ne veux pas. Ensuite, il se repentit, et il alla.
29. "Fa namaly izy ka nanao hoe: Tsy handeha aho; nefa nony afaka izany, dia nanenina izy ka nandeha ihany."
30. And he came to the second, and said likewise. And he answered and said, I go, sir: and went not.
30. S`adressant à l`autre, il dit la même chose. Et ce fils répondit: Je veux bien, seigneur. Et il n`alla pas.
30. Dia nankeo amin' ilay faharoa izy ka niteny toy izany koa. Ary namaly izy ka nanao hoe: Handeha aho, tompoko, kanjo tsy nandeha izy.
31. Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you.
31. Lequel des deux a fait la volonté du père? Ils répondirent: Le premier. Et Jésus leur dit: Je vous le dis en vérité, les publicains et les prostituées vous devanceront dans le royaume de Dieu.
31. Ka iza moa amin' izy mirahalahy no nanao ny sitrapon' ny rainy? Hoy izy ireo: Ny lahimatoa. Dia hoy Jesosy taminy: Lazaiko aminareo marina tokoa fa ny mpamory hetra sy ny vehivavy janga efa mialoha anareo ho amin' ny fanjakan' Andriamanitra.
32. For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him.
32. "Car Jean est venu à vous dans la voie de la justice, et vous n`avez pas cru en lui. Mais les publicains et les prostituées ont cru en lui; et vous, qui avez vu cela, vous ne vous êtes pas ensuite repentis pour croire en lui."
32. "Fa Jaona nankany aminareo tamin' ny lalan' ny fahamarinana, nefa tsy nino azy ianareo; fa ny mpamory hetra sy ny vehivavy janga no nino azy; fa ianareo kosa, na dia efa nahita izany aza, dia mbola tsy nanenina mba hinoanareo azy."
The Parable of the Tenants
33. Hear another parable: There was a certain householder, which planted a vineyard, and hedged it round about, and digged a winepress in it, and built a tower, and let it out to husbandmen, and went into a far country:
33. "Écoutez une autre parabole. Il y avait un homme, maître de maison, qui planta une vigne. Il l`entoura d`une haie, y creusa un pressoir, et bâtit une tour; puis il l`afferma à des vignerons, et quitta le pays."
33. Mihainoa fanoharana hafa koa: Nisy lehilahy tompon-trano namboly tanimboaloboka, dia namefy azy manodidina, sy nihady famiazana teo anatiny, dia nanao tilikambo, ary dia nahofany tamin' olona mpiasa tany izany, ka nandeha ho any an-tany lavitra izy.
34. And when the time of the fruit drew near, he sent his servants to the husbandmen, that they might receive the fruits of it.
34. Lorsque le temps de la récolte fut arrivé, il envoya ses serviteurs vers les vignerons, pour recevoir le produit de sa vigne.
34. Ary rehefa mby akaiky ny fotoam-pahavokarana, dia naniraka ny mpanompony izy hankany amin' ny mpiasa tany handray ny vokatra.
35. And the husbandmen took his servants, and beat one, and killed another, and stoned another.
35. Les vignerons, s`étant saisis de ses serviteurs, battirent l`un, tuèrent l`autre, et lapidèrent le troisième.
35. Fa ny mpiasa tany nisambotra ny mpanompony, ka ny anankiray nokapohiny, ary ny anankiray novonoiny, ary ny anankiray notorahany vato.
36. Again, he sent other servants more than the first: and they did unto them likewise.
36. "Il envoya encore d`autres serviteurs, en plus grand nombre que les premiers; et les vignerons les traitèrent de la même manière."
36. "Dia naniraka mpanompo hafa koa indray izy, maro noho ny tamin' ny voalohany; fa nataony toy izany koa ireny."
37. But last of all he sent unto them his son, saying, They will reverence my son.
37. Enfin, il envoya vers eux son fils, en disant: Ils auront du respect pour mon fils.
37. Ary nony farany dia naniraka ny zanany hankany amin' ireo izy ka nanao hoe: Hanaja ny zanako izy.
38. But when the husbandmen saw the son, they said among themselves, This is the heir; come, let us kill him, and let us seize on his inheritance.
38. "Mais, quand les vignerons virent le fils, ils dirent entre eux: Voici l`héritier; venez, tuons-le, et emparons-nous de son héritage."
38. "Kanjo ny mpiasa tany, nony nahita ny zanaka, dia niresaka hoe: Ity no mpandova; andeha hovonointsika izy, dia ho lasantsika ny lovany."
39. And they caught him, and cast him out of the vineyard, and slew him.
39. Et ils se saisirent de lui, le jetèrent hors de la vigne, et le tuèrent.
39. Ary nisambotra azy izy ireo ka namoaka azy teo ivelan' ny tanimboaloboka, dia namono azy.
40. When the lord therefore of the vineyard cometh, what will he do unto those husbandmen?
40. Maintenant, lorsque le maître de la vigne viendra, que fera-t-il à ces vignerons?

41. They say unto him, He will miserably destroy those wicked men, and will let out his vineyard unto other husbandmen, which shall render him the fruits in their seasons.
41. Ils lui répondirent: Il fera périr misérablement ces misérables, et il affermera la vigne à d`autres vignerons, qui lui en donneront le produit au temps de la récolte.
41. Hoy izy ireo taminy: Hataony loza tokoa ny handringanany izany olon-doza izany, ary ny tanimboaloboka dia hahofany amin' ny mpiasa tany hafa izay hanome azy ny vokatra amin' izay fotoany avy.
42. Jesus saith unto them, Did ye never read in the scriptures, The stone which the builders rejected, the same is become the head of the corner: this is the Lord's doing, and it is marvellous in our eyes?
42. "Jésus leur dit: N`avez-vous jamais lu dans les Écritures: La pierre qu`ont rejetée ceux qui bâtissaient Est devenue la principale de l`angle; C`est du Seigneur que cela est venu, Et c`est un prodige à nos yeux?"
42. "Hoy Jesosy taminy: Tsy mbola novakinareo va ny teny ao amin' ny Soratra Masina hoe: “Ny vato izay nolavin' ny mpanao trano, dia izy no efa natao fehizoro; avy tamin' i Jehovah izao ka mahagaga eo imasontsika?"
43. Therefore say I unto you, The kingdom of God shall be taken from you, and given to a nation bringing forth the fruits thereof.
43. C`est pourquoi, je vous le dis, le royaume de Dieu vous sera enlevé, et sera donné à une nation qui en rendra les fruits.
43. Ary noho izany dia lazaiko aminareo hoe: Hoesorina aminareo ny fanjakan' Andriamanitra ka homena izay firenena mahavokatra ny voany.
44. And whosoever shall fall on this stone shall be broken: but on whomsoever it shall fall, it will grind him to powder.
44. Celui qui tombera sur cette pierre s`y brisera, et celui sur qui elle tombera sera écrasé.

45. And when the chief priests and Pharisees had heard his parables, they perceived that he spake of them.
45. Après avoir entendu ses paraboles, les principaux sacrificateurs et les pharisiens comprirent que c`était d`eux que Jésus parlait,
45. Ary rehefa ren' ny lohan' ny mpisorona sy ny Fariseo ny fanoharana nataon' i Jesosy, dia fantany fa ny tenany no nolazainy amin' izany.
46. But when they sought to lay hands on him, they feared the multitude, because they took him for a prophet.
46. "et ils cherchaient à se saisir de lui; mais ils craignaient la foule, parce qu`elle le tenait pour un prophète."
