Circumcision at Gilgal
1. And it came to pass, when all the kings of the Amorites, which were on the side of Jordan westward, and all the kings of the Canaanites, which were by the sea, heard that the LORD had dried up the waters of Jordan from before the children of Israel, until we were passed over, that their heart melted, neither was there spirit in them any more, because of the children of Israel.
1. Lorsque tous les rois des Amoréens à l`occident du Jourdain et tous les rois des Cananéens près de la mer apprirent que l`Éternel avait mis à sec les eaux du Jourdain devant les enfants d`Israël jusqu`à ce que nous eussions passé, ils perdirent courage et furent consternés à l`aspect des enfants d`Israël.

2. At that time the LORD said unto Joshua, Make thee sharp knives, and circumcise again the children of Israel the second time.

3. And Joshua made him sharp knives, and circumcised the children of Israel at the hill of the foreskins.

4. And this is the cause why Joshua did circumcise: All the people that came out of Egypt, that were males, even all the men of war, died in the wilderness by the way, after they came out of Egypt.
4. Voici la raison pour laquelle Josué les circoncit. Tout le peuple sorti d`Égypte, les mâles, tous les hommes de guerre, étaient morts dans le désert, pendant la route, après leur sortie d`Égypte.

5. Now all the people that came out were circumcised: but all the people that were born in the wilderness by the way as they came forth out of Egypt, them they had not circumcised.
5. "Tout ce peuple sorti d`Égypte était circoncis; mais tout le peuple né dans le désert, pendant la route, après la sortie d`Égypte, n`avait point été circoncis."
5. "Ary voafora ny lehilahy rehetra izay nivoaka; fa ny lehilahy rehetra nateraka teny an-dalana tany an' efitra, fony izy ireo nivoaka avy tany Egypta dia tsy mbola voafora kosa."
6. For the children of Israel walked forty years in the wilderness, till all the people that were men of war, which came out of Egypt, were consumed, because they obeyed not the voice of the LORD: unto whom the LORD sware that he would not shew them the land, which the LORD sware unto their fathers that he would give us, a land that floweth with milk and honey.
6. "Car les enfants d`Israël avaient marché quarante ans dans le désert jusqu`à la destruction de toute la nation des hommes de guerre qui étaient sortis d`Égypte et qui n`avaient point écouté la voix de l`Éternel; l`Éternel leur jura de ne pas leur faire voir le pays qu`il avait juré à leurs pères de nous donner, pays où coulent le lait et le miel."
6. 7. And their children, whom he raised up in their stead, them Joshua circumcised: for they were uncircumcised, because they had not circumcised them by the way.
7. "Ce sont leurs enfants qu`il établit à leur place; et Josué les circoncit, car ils étaient incirconcis, parce qu`on ne les avait point circoncis pendant la route."
7. "Ary ny zanany izay natsangany handimby azy, dia ireo no noforan' i Josoa; fa tsy mbola voafora ireo, satria tsy noforany teny an-dalana."
8. And it came to pass, when they had done circumcising all the people, that they abode in their places in the camp, till they were whole.
8. Lorsqu`on eut achevé de circoncire toute la nation, ils restèrent à leur place dans le camp jusqu`à leur guérison.

9. And the LORD said unto Joshua, This day have I rolled away the reproach of Egypt from off you. Wherefore the name of the place is called Gilgal unto this day.
9. L`Éternel dit à Josué: Aujourd`hui, j`ai roulé de dessus vous l`opprobre de l`Égypte. Et ce lieu fut appelé du nom de Guilgal jusqu`à ce jour.
9. Dia hoy Jehovah tamin' i Josoa: Androany no nanakodiavako ny fandatsàn' i Egypta ho afaka aminareo. Izany no nanaovana ny toerana hoe: Gilgala mandraka androany.
10. And the children of Israel encamped in Gilgal, and kept the passover on the fourteenth day of the month at even in the plains of Jericho.
10. "Les enfants d`Israël campèrent à Guilgal; et ils célébrèrent la Pâque le quatorzième jour du mois, sur le soir, dans les plaines de Jéricho."
10. Ary ny Zanak' Isiraely nitoby tany Gilgala ka nitandrina ny Paska tamin' ny harivan' ny andro fahefatra ambin' ny folo tamin' ny volana, teo amin' ny tany lemak' i Jeriko.
11. And they did eat of the old corn of the land on the morrow after the passover, unleavened cakes, and parched corn in the selfsame day.
11. "Ils mangèrent du blé du pays le lendemain de la Pâque, des pains sans levain et du grain rôti; ils en mangèrent ce même jour."
11. Ary nony ampitson' ny Paska, dia nihinana ny varimbazaha tranainy tamin' ny tany izy ireo, mofo tsy misy lalivay ary lango androtrizay ihany.
12. And the manna ceased on the morrow after they had eaten of the old corn of the land; neither had the children of Israel manna any more; but they did eat of the fruit of the land of Canaan that year.
12. "La manne cessa le lendemain de la Pâque, quand ils mangèrent du blé du pays; les enfants d`Israël n`eurent plus de manne, et ils mangèrent des produits du pays de Canaan cette année-là."
12. "Ary nitsahatra ny mana nony ampitson' iny, rehefa avy nihinana ny varimbazaha tranainy tamin' ny tany izy ireo; ka tsy nisy mana ho an' ny Zanak' Isiraely intsony; fa nihinana ny vokatry ny tany Kanana izy ireo tamin' izany taona izany."
The Fall of Jericho
13. And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries?
13. Comme Josué était près de Jéricho, il leva les yeux, et regarda. Voici, un homme se tenait debout devant lui, son épée nue dans la main. Il alla vers lui, et lui dit: Es-tu des nôtres ou de nos ennemis?

14. And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the LORD am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant?
14. Il répondit: Non, mais je suis le chef de l`armée de l`Éternel, j`arrive maintenant. Josué tomba le visage contre terre, se prosterna, et lui dit: Qu`est-ce que mon seigneur dit à son serviteur?
14. Dia hoy Izy: Tsia, fa izaho dia komandin' ny miaramilan' i Jehovah, ka tonga aty ankehitriny. Dia niankohoka tamin' ny tany Josoa ka nanompo Azy ary nanao taminy hoe: Inona no holazain' ny tompoko amin' ny mpanompony?
15. And the captain of the LORD's host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.
15. Et le chef de l`armée de l`Éternel dit à Josué: Ote tes souliers de tes pieds, car le lieu sur lequel tu te tiens est saint. Et Josué fit ainsi.
15. "Dia hoy Ilay komandin' ny miaramilan' i Jehovah tamin' i Josoa: Esory amin' ny tongotrao ny kapanao; fa masina io toerana ijanonanao io. Dia nataon' i Josoa izany."
