Comfort for God's People
1. Comfort ye, comfort ye my people, saith your God.
1. Consolez, consolez mon peuple, Dit votre Dieu.
1. "Ampionòny, ampionòny ny oloko, hoy Andriamanitrareo;"
2. Speak ye comfortably to Jerusalem, and cry unto her, that her warfare is accomplished, that her iniquity is pardoned: for she hath received of the LORD's hand double for all her sins.
2. Parlez au coeur de Jérusalem, et criez lui Que sa servitude est finie, Que son iniquité est expiée, Qu`elle a reçu de la main de l`Éternel Au double de tous ses péchés.

3. The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
3. Une voix crie: Préparez au désert le chemin de l`Éternel, Aplanissez dans les lieux arides Une route pour notre Dieu.
3. Izao no feon' izay miantso mafy any an' efitra: Amboary ny lalana ho an' i Jehovah, manaova lalambe any an-tany foana ho an' Andriamanitsika.
4. Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
4. Que toute vallée soit exhaussée, Que toute montagne et toute colline soient abaissées! Que les coteaux se changent en plaines, Et les défilés étroits en vallons!

5. And the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it.
5. "Alors la gloire de l`Éternel sera révélée, Et au même instant toute chair la verra; Car la bouche de l`Éternel a parlé."
5. "Dia hiseho ny voninahitr' i Jehovah, ary ny nofo rehetra hiara-mahita izany; fa ny vavan' i Jehovah no efa niteny."
6. The voice said, Cry. And he said, What shall I cry? All flesh is grass, and all the goodliness thereof is as the flower of the field:
6. Une voix dit: Crie! -Et il répond: Que crierai-je? Toute chair est comme l`herbe, Et tout son éclat comme la fleur des champs.
6. "Misy feo manao hoe: Miantsoa. Ary hoy izy: Inona anefa no antso hataoko? Ahitra ny nofo rehetra, ary ny hatsaran-tarehiny rehetra dia tahaka ny voninkazo any an-tsaha;"
7. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: because the spirit of the LORD bloweth upon it: surely the people is grass.
7. L`herbe sèche, la fleur tombe, Quand le vent de l`Éternel souffle dessus. -Certainement le peuple est comme l`herbe:
7. "Maina ny ahitra, malazo ny voniny, satria tsofin' ny fanahin' i Jehovah ireny; ahitra tokoa ny olona."
8. The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.
8. "L`herbe sèche, la fleur tombe; Mais la parole de notre Dieu subsiste éternellement."
8. "Maina ny ahitra, malazo ny voniny; fa ny tenin' Andriamanitsika dia haharitra mandrakizay."
9. O Zion, that bringest good tidings, get thee up into the high mountain; O Jerusalem, that bringest good tidings, lift up thy voice with strength; lift it up, be not afraid; say unto the cities of Judah, Behold your God!
9. "Monte sur une haute montagne, Sion, pour publier la bonne nouvelle; Élève avec force ta voix, Jérusalem, pour publier la bonne nouvelle; Élève ta voix, ne crains point, Dis aux villes de Juda: Voici votre Dieu!"
9. "Ry Ziona, izay mitondra teny soa mahafaly ô, miakara any an-tendrombohitra avo; ry Jerosalema, izay mitondra teny soa mahafaly ô, asandrato mafy ny feonao, asandrato, fa aza matahotra; lazao amin' ny tanànan' ny Joda hoe: Indro, Andriamanitrareo!"
10. Behold, the Lord GOD will come with strong hand, and his arm shall rule for him: behold, his reward is with him, and his work before him.
10. "Voici, le Seigneur, l`Éternel vient avec puissance, Et de son bras il commande; Voici, le salaire est avec lui, Et les rétributions le précèdent."
10. "Indro, Jehovah Tompo ho avy amin' ny tanana mahery, ka ny sandriny ihany no hanapaka; indro, ny valim-pitia hatolony dia eny aminy, ary ny valin' asa homeny dia eo anoloany."
11. He shall feed his flock like a shepherd: he shall gather the lambs with his arm, and carry them in his bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
11. "Comme un berger, il paîtra son troupeau, Il prendra les agneaux dans ses bras, Et les portera dans son sein; Il conduira les brebis qui allaitent."
11. "Hiandry ny ondriny tahaka ny mpiandry ondry Izy; ny sandriny no hanangonany ny zanak' ondry, ka hotrotroiny eo an-tratrany ireny, ary horoahiny miadana ny ampianahany."
12. Who hath measured the waters in the hollow of his hand, and meted out heaven with the span, and comprehended the dust of the earth in a measure, and weighed the mountains in scales, and the hills in a balance?
12. Qui a mesuré les eaux dans le creux de sa main, Pris les dimensions des cieux avec la paume, Et ramassé la poussière de la terre dans un tiers de mesure? Qui a pesé les montagnes au crochet, Et les collines à la balance?
12. Iza no namatra ny rano teo am-pelatanany, ary nanjehy ny lanitra tamin' ny zehiny, sy namory ny vovotany tamin' ny famarana, ary nandanja ny tendrombohitra tamin' ny fandanjana sy ny havoana tamin' ny mizana?
13. Who hath directed the Spirit of the LORD, or being his counsellor hath taught him?
13. Qui a sondé l`esprit de l`Éternel, Et qui l`a éclairé de ses conseils?
13. Iza no nanome hevitra ny Fanahin' i Jehovah, ary iza no mpanolo-tsaina nampianatra Azy?
14. With whom took he counsel, and who instructed him, and taught him in the path of judgment, and taught him knowledge, and shewed to him the way of understanding?
14. Avec qui a-t-il délibéré pour en recevoir de l`instruction? Qui lui a appris le sentier de la justice? Qui lui a enseigné la sagesse, Et fait connaître le chemin de l`intelligence?

15. Behold, the nations are as a drop of a bucket, and are counted as the small dust of the balance: behold, he taketh up the isles as a very little thing.
15. "Voici, les nations sont comme une goutte d`un seau, Elles sont comme de la poussière sur une balance; Voici, les îles sont comme une fine poussière qui s`envole."
15. "Indro, ny firenena dia tahaka ny rano indray mitete avy amin' ny siny ary atao ho tahaka ny vovoka madinika amin' ny mizana; indro, ny nosy dia tsintsininy tahaka ny zavatra bitika indrindra."
16. And Lebanon is not sufficient to burn, nor the beasts thereof sufficient for a burnt offering.
16. Le Liban ne suffit pas pour le feu, Et ses animaux ne suffisent pas pour l`holocauste.

17. All nations before him are as nothing; and they are counted to him less than nothing, and vanity.
17. Toutes les nations sont devant lui comme un rien, Elles ne sont pour lui que néant et vanité.
17. Ny firenena rehetra dia tahaka ny tsinontsinona eo anatrehany, ka ataony ho naman' ny tsinontsinona sy ny zava-poana izy.
18. To whom then will ye liken God? or what likeness will ye compare unto him?
18. A qui voulez-vous comparer Dieu? Et quelle image ferez-vous son égale?
18. Koa hampitovinareo amin' iza moa Andriamanitra? Ary endrik' inona no hampanahafinareo azy?
19. The workman melteth a graven image, and the goldsmith spreadeth it over with gold, and casteth silver chains.
19. C`est un ouvrier qui fond l`idole, Et c`est un orfèvre qui la couvre d`or, Et y soude des chaînettes d`argent.

20. He that is so impoverished that he hath no oblation chooseth a tree that will not rot; he seeketh unto him a cunning workman to prepare a graven image, that shall not be moved.
20. "Celui que la pauvreté oblige à donner peu Choisit un bois qui résiste à la vermoulure; Il se procure un ouvrier capable, Pour faire une idole qui ne branle pas."
20. Izay mahantra ka tsy manan-katerina dia mifidy hazo tsy mety ho lo ary mitady mpiasa mahay zavatra mba hamorona sarin-javatra voasokitra izay tsy hihozongozona.
21. Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth?
21. Ne le savez-vous pas? ne l`avez-vous pas appris? Ne vous l`a-t-on pas fait connaître dès le commencement? N`avez-vous jamais réfléchi à la fondation de la terre?
21. Tsy fantatrareo va? Tsy efa renareo va? Tsy efa nambara taminareo fony taloha va? Tsy efa azonareo an-tsaina hatramin' ny fanorenana ny tany va?
22. It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:
22. "C`est lui qui est assis au-dessus du cercle de la terre, Et ceux qui l`habitent sont comme des sauterelles; Il étend les cieux comme une étoffe légère, Il les déploie comme une tente, pour en faire sa demeure."
22. "Izy no mipetraka eo amin' ny boriborin' ny tany, ary ny mponina eo dia tahaka ny valala; izy no mamelatra ny lanitra tahaka ny lamba manify kararavina ary manenjana azy tahaka ny lay hitoerana."
23. That bringeth the princes to nothing; he maketh the judges of the earth as vanity.
23. "C`est lui qui réduit les princes au néant, Et qui fait des juges de la terre une vanité;"
23. Izy no mahatsinontsinona ny mpanapaka sy mahatonga ny mpitsara amin' ny tany ho tahaka ny zava-poana.
24. Yea, they shall not be planted; yea, they shall not be sown: yea, their stock shall not take root in the earth: and he shall also blow upon them, and they shall wither, and the whirlwind shall take them away as stubble.
24. Ils ne sont pas même plantés, pas même semés, Leur tronc n`a pas même de racine en terre: Il souffle sur eux, et ils se dessèchent, Et un tourbillon les emporte comme le chaume.
24. Eny, tsy hambolena ireo, eny, tsy hafafy ireo, tsy hamaka amin' ny tany akory ny fotony, dia hotsofin' Andriamanitra ireo, ka dia halazo, ary hindaosin' ny tafio-drivotra tahaka ny vodivary izy.
25. To whom then will ye liken me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One.
25. A qui me comparerez-vous, pour que je lui ressemble? Dit le Saint.
25. Koa hampitovinareo amin' iza moa aho, hitahako aminy? hoy ny Iray Masina.
26. Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: he calleth them all by names by the greatness of his might, for that he is strong in power; not one faileth.
26. "Levez vos yeux en haut, et regardez! Qui a créé ces choses? Qui fait marcher en ordre leur armée? Il les appelle toutes par leur nom; Par son grand pouvoir et par sa force puissante, Il n`en est pas une qui fasse défaut."
26. "Asandrato any ambony ny masonareo, ka mijere; iza no nahary ireny? Iza no mamoaka ny antokony araka ny isany? Miantso azy rehetra amin' ny anarany avy Izy noho ny haben' ny fahatanjahany sy ny heriny tsy toha, ka tsy misy diso ireny na dia iray akory aza."
27. Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the LORD, and my judgment is passed over from my God?
27. Pourquoi dis-tu, Jacob, Pourquoi dis-tu, Israël: Ma destinée est cachée devant l`Éternel, Mon droit passe inaperçu devant mon Dieu?
27. Nahoana no miteny ianao, ry Jakoba ô, ary milaza ianao, ry Isiraely ô, hoe: Miafina tsy hitan' i Jehovah ny lalako, ary mihelina tsy hitan' Andriamanitra ny rariny tokony ho ahy?
28. Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.
28. "Ne le sais-tu pas? ne l`as-tu pas appris? C`est le Dieu d`éternité, l`Éternel, Qui a créé les extrémités de la terre; Il ne se fatigue point, il ne se lasse point; On ne peut sonder son intelligence."
28. "Tsy fantatrao va? Tsy efa renao va, fa Andriamanitra mandrakizay, Jehovah, Izay mpamorona ny faran' ny tany, dia tsy mba mety ho reraka na sasatra; tsy takatry ny saina ny fahalalany."
29. He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
29. Il donne de la force à celui qui est fatigué, Et il augmente la vigueur de celui qui tombe en défaillance.
29. Mampahatanjaka ny reraka Izy, ary izay tsy manan-kery dia hampitomboiny hery.
30. Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:
30. "Les adolescents se fatiguent et se lassent, Et les jeunes hommes chancellent;"
30. Na dia ny tanora fanahy aza dia ho reraka sy ho sasatra, ary ny zatovo ho lavo tokoa:
31. But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
31. "Mais ceux qui se confient en l`Éternel renouvellent leur force. Ils prennent le vol comme les aigles; Ils courent, et ne se lassent point, Ils marchent, et ne se fatiguent point."
31. "Fa izay miandry an' i Jehovah kosa, dia hanavao ny heriny; elatra no hiakarany tahaka ny voromahery; hihazakazaka izy nefa tsy ho sasatra, handeha izy nefa tsy ho reraka."
