Divorce
1. And he arose from thence, and cometh into the coasts of Judaea by the farther side of Jordan: and the people resort unto him again; and, as he was wont, he taught them again.

2. And the Pharisees came to him, and asked him, Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife? tempting him.

3. And he answered and said unto them, What did Moses command you?
3. Il leur répondit: Que vous a prescrit Moïse?

4. And they said, Moses suffered to write a bill of divorcement, and to put her away.
4. Moïse, dirent-ils, a permis d`écrire une lettre de divorce et de répudier.

5. And Jesus answered and said unto them, For the hardness of your heart he wrote you this precept.

7. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife;

8. And they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh.

9. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.

10. And in the house his disciples asked him again of the same matter.

11. And he saith unto them, Whosoever shall put away his wife, and marry another, committeth adultery against her.
11. "Il leur dit: Celui qui répudie sa femme et qui en épouse une autre, commet un adultère à son égard;"

12. And if a woman shall put away her husband, and be married to another, she committeth adultery.

The Little Childern and Jesus
13. And they brought young children to him, that he should touch them: and his disciples rebuked those that brought them.

14. But when Jesus saw it, he was much displeased, and said unto them, Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God.
14. "Jésus, voyant cela, fut indigné, et leur dit: Laissez venir à moi les petits enfants, et ne les en empêchez pas; car le royaume de Dieu est pour ceux qui leur ressemblent."

15. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.
15. Je vous le dis en vérité, quiconque ne recevra pas le royaume de Dieu comme un petit enfant n`y entrera point.

16. And he took them up in his arms, put his hands upon them, and blessed them.
16. Puis il les prit dans ses bras, et les bénit, en leur imposant les mains.

The Rich Young Man
17. And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
17. Comme Jésus se mettait en chemin, un homme accourut, et se jetant à genoux devant lui: Bon maître, lui demanda-t-il, que dois-je faire pour hériter la vie éternelle?

18. And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
18. Jésus lui dit: Pourquoi m`appelles-tu bon? Il n`y a de bon que Dieu seul.

19. Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
19. "Tu connais les commandements: Tu ne commettras point d`adultère; tu ne tueras point; tu ne déroberas point; tu ne diras point de faux témoignage; tu ne feras tort à personne; honore ton père et ta mère."
19. Fantatrao ny didy hoe: “Aza mijangajanga, Aza mamono olona, Aza mangalatra, Aza milaza vavolombelona tsy marina, Aza manambaka, Manajà ny rainao sy ny reninao”
20. And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
20. Il lui répondit: Maître, j`ai observé toutes ces choses dès ma jeunesse.

21. Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.
21. "Jésus, l`ayant regardé, l`aima, et lui dit: Il te manque une chose; va, vends tout ce que tu as, donne-le aux pauvres, et tu auras un trésor dans le ciel. Puis viens, et suis-moi."

22. And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
22. "Mais, affligé de cette parole, cet homme s`en alla tout triste; car il avait de grands biens."

23. And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
23. Jésus, regardant autour de lui, dit à ses disciples: Qu`il sera difficile à ceux qui ont des richesses d`entrer dans le royaume de Dieu!
23. Ary Jesosy nijery manodidina ka nanao tamin’ny mpianany hoe: Manao ahoana ny hasarotry ny hidiran’ny manana harena amin’ny fanjakan’Andriamanitra!
24. And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
24. Les disciples furent étonnés de ce que Jésus parlait ainsi. Et, reprenant, il leur dit: Mes enfants, qu`il est difficile à ceux qui se confient dans les richesses d`entrer dans le royaume de Dieu!
24. Ary gaga ny mpianany tamin’izany teny izany. Fa namaly indray Jesosy ka nanao taminy hoe: Anaka, manao ahoana ny hasarotry ny hidiran’ny matoky ny harena amin' ny fanjakan' Andriamanitra!
25. It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
25. Il est plus facile à un chameau de passer par le trou d`une aiguille qu`à un riche d`entrer dans le royaume de Dieu.
25. Moramora kokoa ny hidiran’ny rameva amin’ny vodifanjaitra noho ny hidiran’ny mpanankarena amin’ny fanjakan’Andriamanitra.
26. And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?
26. "Les disciples furent encore plus étonnés, et ils se dirent les uns aux autres; Et qui peut être sauvé?"

27. And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
27. Jésus les regarda, et dit: Cela est impossible aux hommes, mais non à Dieu: car tout est possible à Dieu.

28. Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.

29. And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,
29. Jésus répondit: Je vous le dis en vérité, il n`est personne qui, ayant quitté, à cause de moi et à cause de la bonne nouvelle, sa maison, ou ses frères, ou ses soeurs, ou sa mère, ou son père, ou ses enfants, ou ses terres,
29. Ary namaly Jesosy ka nanao hoe: Lazaiko marina aminareo: Tsy misy olona efa nahafoy trano, na rahalahy, na anabavy, na ray, na reny, na vady, na zanaka, na tany, noho ny amiko sy ny filazantsara,
30. But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
30. ne reçoive au centuple, présentement dans ce siècle-ci, des maisons, des frères, des soeurs, des mères, des enfants, et des terres, avec des persécutions, et, dans le siècle à venir, la vie éternelle.

31. But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.
31. Plusieurs des premiers seront les derniers, et plusieurs des derniers seront les premiers.
31. Nefa maro izay voalohany no ho farany, ary izay farany no ho voalohany.
Jesus Again Predicts His Death
32. And they were in the way going up to Jerusalem; and Jesus went before them: and they were amazed; and as they followed, they were afraid. And he took again the twelve, and began to tell them what things should happen unto him,
32. Ils étaient en chemin pour monter à Jérusalem, et Jésus allait devant eux. Les disciples étaient troublés, et le suivaient avec crainte. Et Jésus prit de nouveau les douze auprès de lui, et commença à leur dire ce qui devait lui arriver:

33. Saying, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem; and the Son of man shall be delivered unto the chief priests, and unto the scribes; and they shall condemn him to death, and shall deliver him to the Gentiles:
33. Voici, nous montons à Jérusalem, et le Fils de l`homme sera livré aux principaux sacrificateurs et aux scribes. Ils le condamneront à mort, et ils le livreront aux païens,

34. And they shall mock him, and shall scourge him, and shall spit upon him, and shall kill him: and the third day he shall rise again.

The Request of James and John
35. And James and John, the sons of Zebedee, come unto him, saying, Master, we would that thou shouldest do for us whatsoever we shall desire.
35. Les fils de Zébédée, Jacques et Jean, s`approchèrent de Jésus, et lui dirent: Maître, nous voudrions que tu fisses pour nous ce que nous te demanderons.

36. And he said unto them, What would ye that I should do for you?
36. Il leur dit: Que voulez-vous que je fasse pour vous?
36. Ary hoy Izy taminy: Inona moa no tianareo hataoko aminareo?
37. They said unto him, Grant unto us that we may sit, one on thy right hand, and the other on thy left hand, in thy glory.
37. Accorde-nous, lui dirent-ils, d`être assis l`un à ta droite et l`autre à ta gauche, quand tu seras dans ta gloire.

38. But Jesus said unto them, Ye know not what ye ask: can ye drink of the cup that I drink of? and be baptized with the baptism that I am baptized with?
38. Jésus leur répondit: Vous ne savez ce que vous demandez. Pouvez-vous boire la coupe que je dois boire, ou être baptisés du baptême dont je dois être baptisé? Nous le pouvons, dirent-ils.
38. "Fa hoy Jesosy taminy: Tsy fantatrareo izay angatahinareo; hainareo va ny hisotro amin’ny kapoaka izay sotroiko, na ny hatao batisa amin’ny batisa izay hanaovana Ahy batisa?"
39. And they said unto him, We can. And Jesus said unto them, Ye shall indeed drink of the cup that I drink of; and with the baptism that I am baptized withal shall ye be baptized:
39. "Et Jésus leur répondit: Il est vrai que vous boirez la coupe que je dois boire, et que vous serez baptisés du baptême dont je dois être baptisé;"

40. But to sit on my right hand and on my left hand is not mine to give; but it shall be given to them for whom it is prepared.

41. And when the ten heard it, they began to be much displeased with James and John.
41. Les dix, ayant entendu cela, commencèrent à s`indigner contre Jacques et Jean.

42. But Jesus called them to him, and saith unto them, Ye know that they which are accounted to rule over the Gentiles exercise lordship over them; and their great ones exercise authority upon them.
42. Jésus les appela, et leur dit: Vous savez que ceux qu`on regarde comme les chefs des nations les tyrannisent, et que les grands les dominent.

43. But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister:
43. "Il n`en est pas de même au milieu de vous. Mais quiconque veut être grand parmi vous, qu`il soit votre serviteur;"

44. And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all.
44. et quiconque veut être le premier parmi vous, qu`il soit l`esclave de tous.

45. For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
45. Car le Fils de l`homme est venu, non pour être servi, mais pour servir et donner sa vie comme la rançon de plusieurs.

Blind Bartimaeus Receives His Sight
46. And they came to Jericho: and as he went out of Jericho with his disciples and a great number of people, blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, sat by the highway side begging.
46. Ils arrivèrent à Jéricho. Et, lorsque Jésus en sortit, avec ses disciples et une assez grande foule, le fils de Timée, Bartimée, mendiant aveugle, était assis au bord du chemin.

47. And when he heard that it was Jesus of Nazareth, he began to cry out, and say, Jesus, thou son of David, have mercy on me.
47. "Il entendit que c`était Jésus de Nazareth, et il se mit à crier; Fils de David, Jésus aie pitié de moi!"

48. And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou son of David, have mercy on me.
48. "Plusieurs le reprenaient, pour le faire taire; mais il criait beaucoup plus fort; Fils de David, aie pitié de moi!"
48. "Ary maro no niteny mafy azy mba hangina; fa vao mainka niantsoantso izy ka nanao hoe: Ry Zanak’i Davida ô, mamindrà fo amiko!"
49. And Jesus stood still, and commanded him to be called. And they call the blind man, saying unto him, Be of good comfort, rise; he calleth thee.
49. Jésus s`arrêta, et dit: Appelez-le. Ils appelèrent l`aveugle, en lui disant: Prends courage, lève-toi, il t`appelle.
49. Ary nijanona Jesosy, dia nandidy mba hantsoina izy. Ary ny olona niantso ilay jamba ka nanao taminy hoe: Matokia, mitsangàna, miantso anao Izy.
50. And he, casting away his garment, rose, and came to Jesus.
50. L`aveugle jeta son manteau, et, se levant d`un bond, vint vers Jésus.
50. Dia nanary ny lambany izy ka nitsangana sy nanatona an’i Jesosy.
51. And Jesus answered and said unto him, What wilt thou that I should do unto thee? The blind man said unto him, Lord, that I might receive my sight.
51. Jésus, prenant la parole, lui dit: Que veux-tu que je te fasse? Rabbouni, lui répondit l`aveugle, que je recouvre la vue.
51. Ary Jesosy namaly ka niteny taminy hoe: Inona no tianao hataoko aminao? Ary hoy ilay jamba taminy: Tompo ô, ny mba hampahiratana ny masoko.
52. And Jesus said unto him, Go thy way; thy faith hath made thee whole. And immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus in the way.
52. Et Jésus lui dit: Va, ta foi t`a sauvé. (10:53) Aussitôt il recouvra la vue, et suivit Jésus dans le chemin.
52. Ary hoy Jesosy taminy: Mandehana ianao, ny finoanao no efa nahasitrana anao tanteraka. Dia nahiratra niaraka tamin’izay ny masony, ka nanaraka an’i Jesosy teny an-dalana izy.
