The Call of Abram
1. Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
1. L`Éternel dit à Abram: Va-t-en de ton pays, de ta patrie, et de la maison de ton père, dans le pays que je te montrerai.
1. "Koa hoy Jehovah tamin' i Abrama: Mivoaha ianao hiala amin' ny firenenao, sy ny fianakavianao, ary ny tranon' ny rainao, hankany amin' ny tany izay hasehoko anao;"
2. And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
2. "Je ferai de toi une grande nation, et je te bénirai; je rendrai ton nom grand, et tu seras une source de bénédiction."
2. "Dia hahatonga anao ho firenena lehibe Aho sady hitahy anao sy hahalehibe ny anaranao; ary ho fitahiana ianao."
3. And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
3. "Je bénirai ceux qui te béniront, et je maudirai ceux qui te maudiront; et toutes les familles de la terre seront bénies en toi."
3. Ary hitahy izay manisy soa anao Aho, fa hanozona izay manozona anao, ary aminao no hitahiana ny ankohonana rehetra ambonin' ny tany.
4. So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.
4. Abram partit, comme l`Éternel le lui avait dit, et Lot partit avec lui. Abram était âgé de soixante-quinze ans, lorsqu`il sortit de Charan.
4. "Dia niainga Abrama araka izay efa nolazain' i Jehovah taminy; ary niaraka taminy Lota, ary efa dimy amby fitopolo taona Abrama raha niala tany Harana izy."
5. And Abram took Sarai his wife, and Lot his brother's son, and all their substance that they had gathered, and the souls that they had gotten in Haran; and they went forth to go into the land of Canaan; and into the land of Canaan they came.
5. Abram prit Saraï, sa femme, et Lot, fils de son frère, avec tous les biens qu`ils possédaient et les serviteurs qu`ils avaient acquis à Charan. Ils partirent pour aller dans le pays de Canaan, et ils arrivèrent au pays de Canaan.
5. "Ary Abrama nitondra an' i Saray vadiny sy Lota zana-drahalahiny mbamin' ny fananan' izy rehetra izay efa nohariny sy ny olona izay efa azony tao Harana; dia niainga izy ireo hankany amin' ny tany Kanana, ka dia tonga tany amin' ny tany Kanana izy."
6. And Abram passed through the land unto the place of Sichem, unto the plain of Moreh. And the Canaanite was then in the land.
6. Abram parcourut le pays jusqu`au lieu nommé Sichem, jusqu`aux chênes de Moré. Les Cananéens étaient alors dans le pays.
6. Ary Abrama nitety ny tany hatrany Sekema dia hatrany amin' ny lemak' i More. Ary ny Kananita no tompon-tany tao fahizay.
7. And the LORD appeared unto Abram, and said, Unto thy seed will I give this land: and there builded he an altar unto the LORD, who appeared unto him.
7. L`Éternel apparut à Abram, et dit: Je donnerai ce pays à ta postérité. Et Abram bâtit là un autel à l`Éternel, qui lui était apparu.
7. "Ary Jehovah niseho tamin' i Abrama ka nanao hoe: Ny taranakao no homeko ity tany ity; dia nanorina alitara teo izy ho an' i Jehovah izay efa niseho taminy."
8. And he removed from thence unto a mountain on the east of Bethel, and pitched his tent, having Bethel on the west, and Hai on the east: and there he builded an altar unto the LORD, and called upon the name of the LORD.
8. Il se transporta de là vers la montagne, à l`orient de Béthel, et il dressa ses tentes, ayant Béthel à l`occident et Aï à l`orient. Il bâtit encore là un autel à l`Éternel, et il invoqua le nom de l`Éternel.
8. "Ary nifindra niala teo izy hankany amin' ny tendrombohitra atsinanan' i Betela ka nanorina ny lainy teo anelanelan' i Betela tao andrefany sy Ay tao atsinanany; dia nanorina alitara teo ho an' i Jehovah izy, ka niantso ny anaran' i Jehovah."
9. And Abram journeyed, going on still toward the south.
9. Abram continua ses marches, en s`avançant vers le midi.
9. Ary nandeha Abrama ka nandroso niandalana ho any amin' ny tany atsimo.
Abram in Egypt
10. And there was a famine in the land: and Abram went down into Egypt to sojourn there; for the famine was grievous in the land.
10. "Il y eut une famine dans le pays; et Abram descendit en Égypte pour y séjourner, car la famine était grande dans le pays."
10. "Ary nisy mosary teo amin' ny tany; ary Abrama dia nidina nankany Egypta hivahiny any, fa mafy ny mosary teo amin' ny tany."
11. And it came to pass, when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said unto Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a fair woman to look upon:
11. Comme il était près d`entrer en Égypte, il dit à Saraï, sa femme: Voici, je sais que tu es une femme belle de figure.
11. "Ary izao no niseho, rehefa nadiva ho tonga tany Egypta izy, dia hoy izy tamin' i Saray vadiny: Indro, fantatro fa vehivavy tsara tarehy ianao;"
12. Therefore it shall come to pass, when the Egyptians shall see thee, that they shall say, This is his wife: and they will kill me, but they will save thee alive.
12. Quand les Égyptiens te verront, ils diront: C`est sa femme! Et ils me tueront, et te laisseront la vie.
12. "Noho izany, izao no hiseho, raha hitan' ny Egyptiana ianao, dia hataony hoe: Vadiny io; ka hovonoiny aho, fa ianao hovelominy."
13. Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister: that it may be well with me for thy sake; and my soul shall live because of thee.
13. Dis, je te prie, que tu es ma soeur, afin que je sois bien traité à cause de toi, et que mon âme vive grâce à toi.
13. Masìna ianao, lazao fa anabaviko ianao, mba hasiana soa aho noho ny aminao, ka noho ianao no hamelomana ahy.
14. And it came to pass, that, when Abram was come into Egypt, the Egyptians beheld the woman that she was very fair.
14. Lorsque Abram fut arrivé en Égypte, les Égyptiens virent que la femme était fort belle.
14. Ary izao no niseho, rehefa tonga tany Egypta Abrama, dia hitan' ny Egyptiana fa tsara tarehy indrindra ravehivavy.
15. The princes also of Pharaoh saw her, and commended her before Pharaoh: and the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house.
15. "Les grands de Pharaon la virent aussi et la vantèrent à Pharaon; et la femme fut emmenée dans la maison de Pharaon."
15. "Ary nahita azy koa ny tandapan' i Farao ka nidera azy tamin' i Farao; dia nentina tao an-tranon' i Farao ravehivavy."
16. And he entreated Abram well for her sake: and he had sheep, and oxen, and he asses, and menservants, and maidservants, and she asses, and camels.
16. "Il traita bien Abram à cause d`elle; et Abram reçut des brebis, des boeufs, des ânes, des serviteurs et des servantes, des ânesses, et des chameaux."
16. "Ary nasian' i Farao soa Abrama noho ny amin' i Saray vadiny; dia nahazo ondry sy omby sy borikilahy sy andevolahy sy andevovavy sy borikivavy sy rameva izy."
17. And the LORD plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram's wife.
17. Mais l`Éternel frappa de grandes plaies Pharaon et sa maison, au sujet de Saraï, femme d`Abram.
17. Dia nasian' i Jehovah areti-mandoza Farao sy ny ankohonany noho ny amin' i Saray, vadin' i Abrama.
18. And Pharaoh called Abram, and said, What is this that thou hast done unto me? why didst thou not tell me that she was thy wife?
18. Alors Pharaon appela Abram, et dit: Qu`est-ce que tu m`as fait? Pourquoi ne m`as-tu pas déclaré que c`est ta femme?
18. Ary nampaka an' i Abrama i Farao ka nanao hoe: Inona izao nataonao tamiko izao? Nahoana no tsy nambaranao tamiko fa vadinao izy?
19. Why saidst thou, She is my sister? so I might have taken her to me to wife: now therefore behold thy wife, take her, and go thy way.
19. Pourquoi as-tu dit: C`est ma soeur? Aussi l`ai-je prise pour ma femme. Maintenant, voici ta femme, prends-la, et va-t-en!
19. "Nahoana ianao no nanao hoe: Anabaviko izy? Ka nalaiko ho vady izy; Koa ankehitriny, indro ny vadinao, ento izy, ka mandehana."
20. And Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him: and they sent him away, and his wife, and all that he had.
20. Et Pharaon donna ordre à ses gens de le renvoyer, lui et sa femme, avec tout ce qui lui appartenait.
20. Dia nomen' i Farao teny ny mpanompony ny amin' i Abrama, ary dia nandefa azy sy ny vadiny mbamin' izay rehetra azy ireo.
