Ezra Comes to Jerusalem
1. Now after these things, in the reign of Artaxerxes king of Persia, Ezra the son of Seraiah, the son of Azariah, the son of Hilkiah,

3. The son of Amariah, the son of Azariah, the son of Meraioth,

4. The son of Zerahiah, the son of Uzzi, the son of Bukki,

5. The son of Abishua, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron the chief priest:

6. This Ezra went up from Babylon; and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given: and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God upon him.
6. Cet Esdras vint de Babylone: c`était un scribe versé dans la loi de Moïse, donnée par l`Éternel, le Dieu d`Israël. Et comme la main de l`Éternel, son Dieu, était sur lui, le roi lui accorda tout ce qu`il avait demandé.
6. "Io Ezra io dia niakatra avy tany Babylona ary mpanoradalàna izy sady nahay ny lalàn' i Mosesy, izay efa nomen' i Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny Isiraely; ary nomen' ny mpanjaka azy izay rehetra nangatahiny, araka ny nomban' ny tanan' i Jehovah Andriamaniny azy."
7. And there went up some of the children of Israel, and of the priests, and the Levites, and the singers, and the porters, and the Nethinims, unto Jerusalem, in the seventh year of Artaxerxes the king.
7. Plusieurs des enfants d`Israël, des sacrificateurs et des Lévites, des chantres, des portiers, et des Néthiniens, vinrent aussi à Jérusalem, la septième année du roi Artaxerxès.
7. Ary niakatra ny sasany tamin' ny zanak' Isiraely sy ny sasany tamin' ny mpisorona mbamin' ny Levita sy ny mpihira sy ny mpiandry varavaravana ary ny Netinima mba hankany Jerosalema tamin' ny taona fahafito nanjakan' i Artaksersesy mpanjaka.
8. And he came to Jerusalem in the fifth month, which was in the seventh year of the king.
8. "Esdras arriva à Jérusalem au cinquième mois de la septième année du roi;"
8. Ary tonga tany Jerosalema Ezra tamin' ny volana fahadimy tamin' ny taona fahafito nanjakan' ny mpanjaka.
9. For upon the first day of the first month began he to go up from Babylon, and on the first day of the fifth month came he to Jerusalem, according to the good hand of his God upon him.
9. il était parti de Babylone le premier jour du premier mois, et il arriva à Jérusalem le premier jour du cinquième mois, la bonne main de son Dieu étant sur lui.

10. For Ezra had prepared his heart to seek the law of the LORD, and to do it, and to teach in Israel statutes and judgments.
10. Car Esdras avait appliqué son coeur à étudier et à mettre en pratique la loi de l`Éternel, et à enseigner au milieu d`Israël les lois et les ordonnances.

King Artaxerxes' Letter to Ezra
11. Now this is the copy of the letter that the king Artaxerxes gave unto Ezra the priest, the scribe, even a scribe of the words of the commandments of the LORD, and of his statutes to Israel.
11. Voici la copie de la lettre donnée par le roi Artaxerxès à Esdras, sacrificateur et scribe, enseignant les commandements et les lois de l`Éternel concernant Israël:
11. Ary izao no kopian' ny taratasy izay nomen' i Artaksersesy mpanjaka an' i Ezra mpisorona, mpanoradalàna, dia ilay mpanoratra ny tenin' ny didin' i Jehovah sy ny fitsipiny tamin' ny Isiraely.
12. Artaxerxes, king of kings, unto Ezra the priest, a scribe of the law of the God of heaven, perfect peace, and at such a time.
12. Artaxerxès, roi des rois, à Esdras, sacrificateur et scribe, versé dans la loi du Dieu des cieux, etc.
12. Artaksersesy, mpanjakan' ny mpanjaka, ho an' i Ezra mpisorona, mpanoratra ny lalàn' Andriamanitry ny lanitra, fiadanana tanteraka anie ho amin' ny fotoanany…
13. I make a decree, that all they of the people of Israel, and of his priests and Levites, in my realm, which are minded of their own freewill to go up to Jerusalem, go with thee.
13. J`ai donné ordre de laisser aller tous ceux du peuple d`Israël, de ses sacrificateurs et de ses Lévites, qui se trouvent dans mon royaume, et qui sont disposés à partir avec toi pour Jérusalem.
13. Manao didy aho fa izay rehetra avy amin' ny olona Isiraely sy ny mpisorona ary ny Levita amin' ny fanjakako ka te-hiakatra an-tsitrapo ho any Jerosalema, dia mahazo mandeha miaraka aminao.
14. Forasmuch as thou art sent of the king, and of his seven counsellors, to enquire concerning Judah and Jerusalem, according to the law of thy God which is in thine hand;
14. Tu es envoyé par le roi et ses sept conseillers pour inspecter Juda et Jérusalem d`après la loi de ton Dieu, laquelle est entre tes mains,
14. "Fa ianao efa nirahin' ny mpanjaka sy izy fito lahy mpanolo-tsainy hanadihady ny momba ny Joda sy Jerosalema araka ny lalàn' Andriamanitrao izay eny an-tananao ;"
15. And to carry the silver and gold, which the king and his counsellors have freely offered unto the God of Israel, whose habitation is in Jerusalem,
15. et pour porter l`argent et l`or que le roi et ses conseillers ont généreusement offerts au Dieu d`Israël, dont la demeure est à Jérusalem,
15. Ary hitondra ny volafotsy sy ny volamena izay efa natolotry ny mpanjaka sy ireo mpanolo-tsainy an-tsitrapo ho an' Andriamanitry ny Isiraely izay monina any Jerosalema,
16. And all the silver and gold that thou canst find in all the province of Babylon, with the freewill offering of the people, and of the priests, offering willingly for the house of their God which is in Jerusalem:
16. tout l`argent et l`or que tu trouveras dans toute la province de Babylone, et les dons volontaires faits par le peuple et les sacrificateurs pour la maison de leur Dieu à Jérusalem.
16. Ary ny volafotsy sy ny volamena rehetra izay ho azonao eran' ny tany Babylona miaraka amin' ny fanati-tsitrapo, atolotry ny olona sy ny mpisorona, dia izay atolony an-tsitrapo hanaovany ny tranon' Andriamanitra izay any Jerosalema,
17. That thou mayest buy speedily with this money bullocks, rams, lambs, with their meat offerings and their drink offerings, and offer them upon the altar of the house of your God which is in Jerusalem.
17. En conséquence, tu auras soin d`acheter avec cet argent des taureaux, des béliers, des agneaux, et ce qui est nécessaire pour les offrandes et les libations, et tu les offriras sur l`autel de la maison de votre Dieu à Jérusalem.
17. Mba hividiananao haingana omby sy ondrilahy sy zanak' ondry mbamin' ny fanatitra hohanina sy fanatitra aidina, izany vola izany ka haterina eo ambonin' ny alitaran' ny tranon' Andriamanitrao izay any Jerosalema.
18. And whatsoever shall seem good to thee, and to thy brethren, to do with the rest of the silver and the gold, that do after the will of your God.
18. Vous ferez avec le reste de l`argent et de l`or ce que vous jugerez bon de faire, toi et tes frères, en vous conformant à la volonté de votre Dieu.
18. Ary na inona na inona heverinao sy ny rahalahinao ho tsara hatao amin' ny volafotsy sy ny volamena sisa, dia ataovy izany araka ny sitrapon' Andriamanitrareo.
19. The vessels also that are given thee for the service of the house of thy God, those deliver thou before the God of Jerusalem.
19. Dépose devant le Dieu de Jérusalem les ustensiles qui te sont remis pour le service de la maison de ton Dieu.
19. Ary ny fanaka izay nomena anao koa hanaovana ny fanompoana ao an-tranon' Andriamanitrao dia atolory eo anatrehan' Andriamanitra any Jerosalema.
20. And whatsoever more shall be needful for the house of thy God, which thou shalt have occasion to bestow, bestow it out of the king's treasure house.
20. Tu tireras de la maison des trésors du roi ce qu`il faudra pour les autres dépenses que tu auras à faire concernant la maison de ton Dieu.
20. Ary izay rehetra mbola ilaina ho an' ny tranon' Andriamanitrao, ka tsy maintsy omenao, dia alao avy ao an-trano firaketan' ny mpanjaka.
21. And I, even I Artaxerxes the king, do make a decree to all the treasurers which are beyond the river, that whatsoever Ezra the priest, the scribe of the law of the God of heaven, shall require of you, it be done speedily,
21. Moi, le roi Artaxerxès, je donne l`ordre à tous les trésoriers de l`autre côté du fleuve de livrer exactement à Esdras, sacrificateur et scribe, versé dans la loi du Dieu des cieux, tout ce qu`il vous demandera,
21. Ary izaho dia izaho Artaksersesy mpanjaka, dia manao didy koa ho amin' ny mpitahiry ny haren' ny fanjakana rehetra izay any an-dafin' ny ony, fa na inona na inona no ilain' i Ezra mpisorona, mpanoratra ny lalàn' Andriamanitry ny lanitra aminareo, dia tovy haingana izany,
22. Unto an hundred talents of silver, and to an hundred measures of wheat, and to an hundred baths of wine, and to an hundred baths of oil, and salt without prescribing how much.
22. jusqu`à cent talents d`argent, cent cors de froment, cent baths de vin, cent baths d`huile, et du sel à discrétion.
22. Na hatramin' ny talenta volafotsy zato sy ny vary tritika zato kora sy ny divay zato bata sy ny diloilo zato bata ary ny sira tsy misy fatrany aza.
23. Whatsoever is commanded by the God of heaven, let it be diligently done for the house of the God of heaven: for why should there be wrath against the realm of the king and his sons?
23. Que tout ce qui est ordonné par le Dieu des cieux se fasse ponctuellement pour la maison du Dieu des cieux, afin que sa colère ne soit pas sur le royaume, sur le roi et sur ses fils.
23. "Na inona na inona andidian' Andriamanitry ny lanitra dia aoka hataonao tanteraka avokoa ho an' ny tranon' Andriamanitry ny lanitra; fa nahoana no havela hisy fahatezerana hihatra amin' ny fanjakan' ny mpanjaka sy ny zanany?"
24. Also we certify you, that touching any of the priests and Levites, singers, porters, Nethinims, or ministers of this house of God, it shall not be lawful to impose toll, tribute, or custom, upon them.
24. Nous vous faisons savoir qu`il ne peut être levé ni tribut, ni impôt, ni droit de passage, sur aucun des sacrificateurs, des Lévites, des chantres, des portiers, des Néthiniens, et des serviteurs de cette maison de Dieu.
24. Ary manamarina aminareo koa izahay, fa mikasika ny mpisorona sy ny Levita sy ny mpihira sy ny mpiandry varavarana sy ny Netinima ary ny mpanompo amin' ny tranon' Andriamanitra dia tsy mba hampandoavina hetra na haba, na sara izy ireny.
25. And thou, Ezra, after the wisdom of thy God, that is in thine hand, set magistrates and judges, which may judge all the people that are beyond the river, all such as know the laws of thy God; and teach ye them that know them not.
25. "Et toi, Esdras, selon la sagesse de Dieu que tu possèdes, établis des juges et des magistrats qui rendent la justice à tout le peuple de l`autre côté du fleuve, à tous ceux qui connaissent les lois de ton Dieu; et fais-les connaître à ceux qui ne le connaissent pas."
25. "Ary ianao, ry Ezra, araka ny fahendren' Andriamanitra izay eo an-tananao, dia manendre mpanapaka sy mpitsara, izay hitsara ny olona rehetra any an-dafin' ny ony, dia izay rehetra mahalala ny lalàn' Andriamanitrao; fa izay tsy mbola mahalala izany dia aoka hampianarinareo."
26. And whosoever will not do the law of thy God, and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily upon him, whether it be unto death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment.
26. Quiconque n`observera pas ponctuellement la loi de ton Dieu et la loi du roi sera condamné à la mort, au bannissement, à une amende, ou à la prison.
26. Ary na iza na iza no tsy mety hanatanteraka ny lalàn' Andriamanitrao sy ny lalàn' ny mpanjaka, dia aoka hotsaraina faingana izy na hovonoina, na horoahina, na alaina ny fananany, na hogadraina.
27. Blessed be the LORD God of our fathers, which hath put such a thing as this in the king's heart, to beautify the house of the LORD which is in Jerusalem:
27. Béni soit l`Éternel, le Dieu de nos pères, qui a disposé le coeur du roi à glorifier ainsi la maison de l`Éternel à Jérusalem,
27. Isaorana anie Jehovah, Andriamanitry ny razantsika, izay efa nanisy izany tao am-pon' ny mpanjaka hahatsara tarehy ny tranon' i Jehovah any Jerosalema,
28. And hath extended mercy unto me before the king, and his counsellors, and before all the king's mighty princes. And I was strengthened as the hand of the LORD my God was upon me, and I gathered together out of Israel chief men to go up with me.
28. et qui m`a rendu l`objet de la bienveillance du roi, de ses conseillers, et de tous ses puissants chefs! Fortifié par la main de l`Éternel, mon Dieu, qui était sur moi, j`ai rassemblé les chefs d`Israël, afin qu`ils partissent avec moi.
28. Sady efa nanalehibe ny famindrampony tamiko teo anatrehan' ny mpanjaka sy ireo mpanolo-tsainy ary ny mpanapaka lehibe rehetra ao amin' ny mpanjaka. Ary dia nampaherezina aho araka ny nomban' ny tanan' i Jehovah Andriamanitro ahy ka nahangona loholona tamin' ny Isiraely mba hiara-miakatra amiko.
