Haman Hanged

2. And the king said again unto Esther on the second day at the banquet of wine, What is thy petition, queen Esther? and it shall be granted thee: and what is thy request? and it shall be performed, even to the half of the kingdom.

2. Ce second jour, le roi dit encore à Esther, pendant qu`on buvait le vin: Quelle est ta demande, reine Esther? Elle te sera accordée. Que désires-tu? Quand ce serait la moitié du royaume, tu l`obtiendras.

2. Ary hoy indray ny mpanjaka tamin' i Estera teo am-pisotroan-divay tamin' ny andro faharoa: Inona no angatahinao, ry Estera, vadin' ny mpanjaka? Fa homena anao izany. Ary inona ange no tadiavinao? Fa na dia hatramin' ny antsasaky ny fanjakana aza dia hotovina izany.

3. Then Esther the queen answered and said, If I have found favour in thy sight, O king, and if it please the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request:

3. La reine Esther répondit: Si j`ai trouvé grâce à tes yeux, ô roi, et si le roi le trouve bon, accorde-moi la vie, voilà ma demande, et sauve mon peuple, voilà mon désir!

3. "Dia namaly Estera, vadin' ny mpanjaka, ka nanao hoe: Raha mahita fitia eto imasonao ary aho, ry mpanjaka, ka sitraky ny mpanjaka, dia aoka homena ahy ny aiko araka ny fifonako ary ny fireneko araka ny fangatahako;"

4. For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for bondmen and bondwomen, I had held my tongue, although the enemy could not countervail the king's damage.

4. Car nous sommes vendus, moi et mon peuple, pour être détruits, égorgés, anéantis. Encore si nous étions vendus pour devenir esclaves et servantes, je me tairais, mais l`ennemi ne saurait compenser le dommage fait au roi.

4. "Fa namidy izahay, dia izaho sy ny fireneko mba haringana sy hovonoina ary haripaka; fa raha tàhiny namidy ho andevolahy sy ho andevovavy izahay, dia ho nangina ihany aho, kanefa tsy nahonitra ny fatiantoky ny mpanjaka akory aza ilay fahavalo."

5. Then the king Ahasuerus answered and said unto Esther the queen, Who is he, and where is he, that durst presume in his heart to do so?

5. Le roi Assuérus prit la parole et dit à la reine Esther: Qui est-il et où est-il celui qui se propose d`agir ainsi?

5. Dia namaly Ahasoerosy mpanjaka, ka nanao tamin' i Estera, vadin' ny mpanjaka hoe: Iza moa izany, ary aiza no hisy hasesiky ny fony hanao izany akory?

6. And Esther said, The adversary and enemy is this wicked Haman. Then Haman was afraid before the king and the queen.

6. Esther répondit: L`oppresseur, l`ennemi, c`est Haman, ce méchant-là! Haman fut saisi de terreur en présence du roi et de la reine.

6. Fa hoy Estera: Io Hamana ratsy fanahy io no rafilahy sy fahavalo! Dia raiki-tahotra teo anatrehan' ny mpanjaka sy ny vadin' ny mpanjaka i Hamana.

7. And the king arising from the banquet of wine in his wrath went into the palace garden: and Haman stood up to make request for his life to Esther the queen; for he saw that there was evil determined against him by the king.

7. Et le roi, dans sa colère, se leva et quitta le festin, pour aller dans le jardin du palais. Haman resta pour demander grâce de la vie à la reine Esther, car il voyait bien que sa perte était arrêtée dans l`esprit du roi.

7. "Ary nitsangana niala teo am-pisotroan-divay tamin' ny fahatezerany ny mpanjaka ka nankao an-tanimbolin' ny lapa; ary Hamana kosa nitsangana hangataka ny ainy tamin' i Estera, vadin' ny mpanjaka, satria hitany fa misy loza hamelezan' ny mpanjaka azy."

8. Then the king returned out of the palace garden into the place of the banquet of wine; and Haman was fallen upon the bed whereon Esther was. Then said the king, Will he force the queen also before me in the house? As the word went out of the king's mouth, they covered Haman's face.

8. Lorsque le roi revint du jardin du palais dans la salle du festin, il vit Haman qui s`était précipité vers le lit sur lequel était Esther, et il dit: Serait-ce encore pour faire violence à la reine, chez moi, dans le palais? Dès que cette parole fut sortie de la bouche du roi, on voila le visage d`Haman.

8. "Ary niverina avy teo an-tanimbolin' ny lapa ny mpanjaka ho eo amin' ilay toerana nisotroany divay; ary Hamana niapoka tamin' ny farafara nandriandrian' i Estera. dia hoy ny mpanjaka: Moa hisavika ny vadin' ny mpanjaka eto anatrehako ato an-tranoko koa va io? Raha vantany vao naloaky ny vavan' ny mpanjaka izany teny izany, dia nisy nanarona ny tavan' i Hamana."

9. And Harbonah, one of the chamberlains, said before the king, Behold also, the gallows fifty cubits high, which Haman had made for Mordecai, who had spoken good for the king, standeth in the house of Haman. Then the king said, Hang him thereon.

9. Et Harbona, l`un des eunuques, dit en présence du roi: Voici, le bois préparé par Haman pour Mardochée, qui a parlé pour le bien du roi, est dressé dans la maison d`Haman, à une hauteur de cinquante coudées. Le roi dit: Qu`on y pende Haman!

9. Ary Harbona, anankiray tamin' ireo tsindranolahy, dia nilaza teo anatrehan' ny mpanjaka hoe: Indro, miorina eo akaikin' ny tranon' i Hamana ny hazo dimampolo hakiho ny haavony, izay nataon' i Hamana hanantonana an' i Mordekay, ilay niteny soa ho an' ny mpanjaka. Dia hoy ny mpanjaka: Ahantòny amin' io izy.

10. So they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai. Then was the king's wrath pacified.

10. Et l`on pendit Haman au bois qu`il avait préparé pour Mardochée. Et la colère du roi s`apaisa.

10. Ary Hamana dia nahantony tamin' ilay hazo efa nomaniny ho an' i Mordekay. Dia izay vao nionona ny fahatezeran' ny mpanjaka.
