Signs for Moses
1. And Moses answered and said, But, behold, they will not believe me, nor hearken unto my voice: for they will say, The LORD hath not appeared unto thee.
1. Moïse répondit, et dit: Voici, ils ne me croiront point, et ils n`écouteront point ma voix. Mais ils diront: L`Éternel ne t`est point apparu.

2. And the LORD said unto him, What is that in thine hand? And he said, A rod.
2. L`Éternel lui dit: Qu`y a-t-il dans ta main? Il répondit: Une verge.
2. Ary hoy Jehovah taminy: Inona moa iny an-tananao iny? Dia hoy izy: tehina.
3. And he said, Cast it on the ground. And he cast it on the ground, and it became a serpent; and Moses fled from before it.
3. L`Éternel dit: Jette-la par terre. Il la jeta par terre, et elle devint un serpent. Moïse fuyait devant lui.
3. Ary hoy Izy: Atsipazo amin' ny tany iny. Dia natsipiny tamin' ny tany ka tonga menarana, dia nandositra izany Mosesy.
4. And the LORD said unto Moses, Put forth thine hand, and take it by the tail. And he put forth his hand, and caught it, and it became a rod in his hand:
4. L`Éternel dit à Moïse: Étends ta main, et saisis-le par la queue. Il étendit la main et le saisit et le serpent redevint une verge dans sa main.
4. "Ary hoy Jehovah tamin' i Mosesy; Ahinjiro ny tananao, ka raiso amin' ny rambony iny. Dia naninjitra ny tanany izy ka nandray izany, dia tonga tehina teo an-tanany izany;"
5. That they may believe that the LORD God of their fathers, the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, hath appeared unto thee.
5. C`est là, dit l`Éternel, ce que tu feras, afin qu`ils croient que l`Éternel, le Dieu de leurs pères, t`est apparu, le Dieu d`Abraham, le Dieu d`Isaac et le Dieu de Jacob.

6. And the LORD said furthermore unto him, Put now thine hand into thy bosom. And he put his hand into his bosom: and when he took it out, behold, his hand was leprous as snow.
6. "L`Éternel lui dit encore: Mets ta main dans ton sein. Il mit sa main dans son sein; puis il la retira, et voici, sa main était couverte de lèpre, blanche comme la neige."
6. "Ary hoy koa Jehovah taminy: Atsofohy ao an-tratranao ny tananao. Dia natsofony tao an-tratrany ny tanany; ary nony notsoahany, dia indro, efa boka ny tanany ka fotsy tahaka ny orampanala."
7. And he said, Put thine hand into thy bosom again. And he put his hand into his bosom again; and plucked it out of his bosom, and, behold, it was turned again as his other flesh.
7. "L`Éternel dit: Remets ta main dans ton sein. Il remit sa main dans son sein; puis il la retira de son sein, et voici, elle était redevenue comme sa chair."
7. "Ary hoy Izy: Atsofohy ao an-tratranao indray ny tananao. Dia natsofony tao an-tratrany indray ny tanany; ary nony notsoahany tamin' ny tratrany, dia, indro, efa tonga tahaka ny hodiny indray izany."
8. And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe thee, neither hearken to the voice of the first sign, that they will believe the voice of the latter sign.
8. S`ils ne te croient pas, dit l`Éternel, et n`écoutent pas la voix du premier signe, ils croiront à la voix du dernier signe.
8. Ary izao no hiseho, raha tsy hino anao izy ireo ka tsy hihaino ny feon' ny famantarana voalohany, dia hino ny feon' ny famantarana aoriana.
9. And it shall come to pass, if they will not believe also these two signs, neither hearken unto thy voice, that thou shalt take of the water of the river, and pour it upon the dry land: and the water which thou takest out of the river shall become blood upon the dry land.
9. S`ils ne croient pas même à ces deux signes, et n`écoutent pas ta voix, tu prendras de l`eau du fleuve, tu la répandras sur la terre, et l`eau que tu auras prise du fleuve deviendra du sang sur la terre.

10. And Moses said unto the LORD, O my LORD, I am not eloquent, neither heretofore, nor since thou hast spoken unto thy servant: but I am slow of speech, and of a slow tongue.
10. "Moïse dit à l`Éternel: Ah! Seigneur, je ne suis pas un homme qui ait la parole facile, et ce n`est ni d`hier ni d`avant-hier, ni même depuis que tu parles à ton serviteur; car j`ai la bouche et la langue embarrassées."
10. "Ary hoy Mosesy tamin' i Jehovah: Tompo ô, tsy mahay mandaha-teny aho, na hatrany aloha, na hatramin' izao itenenanao amin' ny mpanomponao izao; fa miadam-piteny sy votsa vava aho."
11. And the LORD said unto him, Who hath made man's mouth? or who maketh the dumb, or deaf, or the seeing, or the blind? have not I the LORD?
11. L`Éternel lui dit: Qui a fait la bouche de l`homme? et qui rend muet ou sourd, voyant ou aveugle? N`est-ce pas moi, l`Éternel?
11. Ary hoy Jehovah taminy: Iza moa no nanao ny vavan' ny olona? Ary iza no mampahamoana, na mampaharenina, na mampahiratra, na mampahajamba? tsy Izaho Jehovah va?
12. Now therefore go, and I will be with thy mouth, and teach thee what thou shalt say.
12. Va donc, je serai avec ta bouche, et je t`enseignerai ce que tu auras à dire.

13. And he said, O my LORD, send, I pray thee, by the hand of him whom thou wilt send.
13. Moïse dit: Ah! Seigneur, envoie qui tu voudras envoyer.

14. And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Moses, and he said, Is not Aaron the Levite thy brother? I know that he can speak well. And also, behold, he cometh forth to meet thee: and when he seeth thee, he will be glad in his heart.
14. "Alors la colère de l`Éternel s`enflamma contre Moïse, et il dit: N`y a t-il pas ton frère Aaron, le Lévite? Je sais qu`il parlera facilement. Le voici lui-même, qui vient au-devant de toi; et, quand il te verra, il se réjouira dans son coeur."
14. "Dia nirehitra tamin' i Mosesy ny fahatezeran' i Jehovah, ka hoy Izy: Tsy ao ihany va Arona Levita rahalahinao? Fantatro fa mahay mandaha-teny izy. Ary indro koa, avy hitsena anao izy; koa rehefa mahita anao izy, dia ho faly ny ao am-pony."
15. And thou shalt speak unto him, and put words in his mouth: and I will be with thy mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what ye shall do.
15. "Tu lui parleras, et tu mettras les paroles dans sa bouche; et moi, je serai avec ta bouche et avec sa bouche, et je vous enseignerai ce que vous aurez à faire."

16. And he shall be thy spokesman unto the people: and he shall be, even he shall be to thee instead of a mouth, and thou shalt be to him instead of God.
16. "Il parlera pour toi au peuple; il te servira de bouche, et tu tiendras pour lui la place de Dieu."
16. "Ary izy hiteny amin' ny olona hisolo anao; ka dia izy no ho solovavanao, ary ianao kosa ho solon' Andriamanitra aminy."
17. And thou shalt take this rod in thine hand, wherewith thou shalt do signs.
17. Prends dans ta main cette verge, avec laquelle tu feras les signes.
17. Dia hoentinao eny an-tananao io tehina io, izay hanaovanao ireo famantarana ireo.
Moses Returns to Egypt
18. And Moses went and returned to Jethro his father in law, and said unto him, Let me go, I pray thee, and return unto my brethren which are in Egypt, and see whether they be yet alive. And Jethro said to Moses, Go in peace.
18. "Moïse s`en alla; et de retour auprès de Jéthro, son beau-père, il lui dit: Laisse-moi, je te prie, aller rejoindre mes frères qui sont en Égypte, afin que je voie s`ils sont encore vivants. Jéthro dit à Moïse: Va en paix."

19. And the LORD said unto Moses in Midian, Go, return into Egypt: for all the men are dead which sought thy life.
19. L`Éternel dit à Moïse, en Madian: Va, retourne en Égypte, car tous ceux qui en voulaient à ta vie sont morts.
19. Ary hoy Jehovah tamin' i Mosesy tany Midiana: Mandehana miverina any Egypta, fa maty ny olona rehetra izay nitady ny ainao.
20. And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon an ass, and he returned to the land of Egypt: and Moses took the rod of God in his hand.
20. Moïse prit sa femme et ses fils, les fit monter sur des ânes, et retourna dans le pays d`Égypte. Il prit dans sa main la verge de Dieu.
20. "Dia nalain' i Mosesy ny vadiny sy ny zanany lahy ka nampitaingeniny boriky, dia niverina ho any amin' ny tany Egypta izy; ary nentin' i Mosesy teny an-tanany ilay tehin' Andriamanitra."
21. And the LORD said unto Moses, When thou goest to return into Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh, which I have put in thine hand: but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let the people go.
21. L`Éternel dit à Moïse: En partant pour retourner en Égypte, vois tous les prodiges que je mets en ta main: tu les feras devant Pharaon. Et moi, j`endurcirai son coeur, et il ne laissera point aller le peuple.
21. Ary hoy Jehovah tamin' i Mosesy: Raha mandeha miverina ho any Egypta ianao, indreo ireo fahagagana rehetra ireo, izay nataoko teo an-tananao, dia ataovy eo anatrehan' i Farao: nefa hanamafy ny fony Aho, ka tsy handefa ny olona izy.
22. And thou shalt say unto Pharaoh, Thus saith the LORD, Israel is my son, even my firstborn:
22. Tu diras à Pharaon: Ainsi parle l`Éternel: Israël est mon fils, mon premier-né.
22. "Ary lazao amin' i Farao hoe: Izao no lazain' i Jehovah: Zanako lahimatoa Isiraely;"
23. And I say unto thee, Let my son go, that he may serve me: and if thou refuse to let him go, behold, I will slay thy son, even thy firstborn.
23. "Je te dis: Laisse aller mon fils, pour qu`il me serve; si tu refuses de le laisser aller, voici, je ferai périr ton fils, ton premier-né."
23. "Koa lazaiko aminao hoe: Avelao ny zanako handeha hanompo Ahy; fa raha mandà tsy handefa azy ianao, dia indro, hamono ny zanakao lahy Aho, dia ny matoanao."
24. And it came to pass by the way in the inn, that the LORD met him, and sought to kill him.
24. Pendant le voyage, en un lieu où Moïse passa la nuit, l`Éternel l`attaqua et voulut le faire mourir.

25. Then Zipporah took a sharp stone, and cut off the foreskin of her son, and cast it at his feet, and said, Surely a bloody husband art thou to me.
25. Séphora prit une pierre aiguë, coupa le prépuce de son fils, et le jeta aux pieds de Moïse, en disant: Tu es pour moi un époux de sang!

26. So he let him go: then she said, A bloody husband thou art, because of the circumcision.
26. Et l`Éternel le laissa. C`est alors qu`elle dit: Époux de sang! à cause de la circoncision.
26. "Dia niala taminy Izy; ary hoy ravehivavy: Vady azo amin' ny fandatsahan-drà ianao, noho ny fora."
27. And the LORD said to Aaron, Go into the wilderness to meet Moses. And he went, and met him in the mount of God, and kissed him.
27. "L`Éternel dit à Aaron: Va dans le désert au-devant de Moïse. Aaron partit; il rencontra Moïse à la montagne de Dieu, et il le baisa."
27. Ary hoy Jehovah tamin' i Arona: Mandehana hitsena an' i Mosesy any an' efitra. Dia lasa nandeha izy ka nifanena taminy tao amin' ny tendrombohitr' Andriamanitra, dia nanoroka azy.
28. And Moses told Aaron all the words of the LORD who had sent him, and all the signs which he had commanded him.
28. Moïse fit connaître à Aaron toutes les paroles de l`Éternel qui l`avait envoyé, et tous les signes qu`il lui avait ordonné de faire.
28. Ary nambaran' i Mosesy tamin' i Arona ny teny rehetra nataon' i Jehovah, izay efa naniraka azy, sy ny famantarana rehetra izay efa nandidiany azy.
29. And Moses and Aaron went and gathered together all the elders of the children of Israel:
29. Moïse et Aaron poursuivirent leur chemin, et ils assemblèrent tous les anciens des enfants d`Israël.
29. "Dia nandeha nanangona ny loholon' ny Zanak' Isiraely rehetra Mosesy sy Arona;"
30. And Aaron spake all the words which the LORD had spoken unto Moses, and did the signs in the sight of the people.
30. Aaron rapporta toutes les paroles que l`Éternel avait dites à Moïse, et il exécuta les signes aux yeux du peuple.

31. And the people believed: and when they heard that the LORD had visited the children of Israel, and that he had looked upon their affliction, then they bowed their heads and worshipped.
31. "Et le peuple crut. Ils apprirent que l`Éternel avait visité les enfants d`Israël, qu`il avait vu leur souffrance; et ils s`inclinèrent et se prosternèrent."
31. "Dia nino ny olona; ary rehefa reny fa Jehovah efa namangy ny Zanak' Isiraely ka efa nitsinjo ny fahoriany, dia nanondrika ny lohany izy ka niankohoka."
